We run a nonprofit outdoor education camp for underprivileged youth, so your stay supports our work to get youth outdoors. Winter lodging.... It can get seasonably cold in the Santa Cruz Mountains during the winter. If visiting in the winter, rest assured we have everything covered to enjoy your stay. We have propane heaters in all main spaces for your comfort. If the power goes out, we have a standby generator that will power up camp provided we are home to turn it on. We have a woodstoves in the Owl's Nest and Eagle's Nest. My second visit here in this quiet oasis. Just 3 weeks between and I loved the improvements (like a cool sink in the very lovely and clean outhouse). It was off and on deluge of rain, and was so nice to fall asleep to that sound on the tent. I would highly recommend rain boots if you know there is rain in the forecast as it can get muddy between the tent and the outhouse. Simply part of the adventure... Camp Cruz is a total gem! Ismael and his wife have created something really special here. The place is fully of character and charm and makes you feel at peace among nature while providing some truly awesome creature comforts (heated beds, anyone?!). The facilities were clean and well kept and as hosts they made sure we felt welcome and comfortable to relax for the weekend. Highly recommend for a couple's getaway or a group trip as there's plenty of space and a variety of activities.

We loved staying in the tree house with incredible views of the lake and nice, cosy set up for 2 people. Jeremy went above and beyond in terms of making us comfortable providing fire wood, helping us to get to the lake side for kayaking and letting us pet the cutest ever puppies that live on the farm. We ate some good food in the town of Murphys and Jeremy’s recommendations of V bistro and vino moda were both excellent. Waking up to the birds chirping and superb view of the lake, foothills clouds from the lofted bed was a real pleasure. Cannot recommend more for a nice get away!!

It’s a perfect place to get away! There’s a grocery store about 5 minutes away that we bought some sandwiches from, and we ate outside our tent on the picnic bench! It was absolutely perfect and relaxing, would recommend!

Nancy was the highlight of the trip and so accommodating and helpful throughout the entire process. She made me feel so welcome and she was lovely to talk to. Despite all the beautiful land on Nancy’s property, my pups decided to go on a little four hour “adventure” by sneaking under the gate. Nancy was SO helpful with contacting neighbors to be on the lookout and even helped drive around herself! Perhaps if you have opportunistic pups who like to explore every nook and cranny for a loophole, keep them on a long line! Luckily the stinkers came back once they got bored of freedom 🫠

My son and I absolutely loved the cabin and Jeremy’s land! It was beautiful set next to the late and the views were amazing. The cabin was super cozy and it was so nice to have extra amenities (sink, shower, kitchen) near by. We had so much fun going kayaking, playing with the different farm animals and dogs and eating fresh eggs from the chicken coop. The dogs were so friendly and one of them even stayed with us overnight which my son loved! We can’t wait to come back to this space. Jeremy was so kind, communicative and providing great ideas and suggestions for local places.

Very simple and easy process. Jeremy is the real MVP for a lot of awesome reasons. The property is gorgeous and the dogs are so friendly! Plus theres a LOT of dry wood to burn so we didnt have to bring our own. It was exactly what we needed.

This was a beautiful spot! Barry and his wife were very welcoming and responsive. The scenery is extremely peaceful. The outdoor kitchen/coffee bar are a really nice added touch. There are also bathrooms and showers on site. Perfect spot by the river, definitely recommend!

Wow, what an amazing and beautiful weekend my girlfriends and I had at the Painted Lake Treehouse! The place is absolutely stunning! It was a mystical and magical wonderland with an amazing view of the lake. We woke up every morning to sounds of the roosters crowing and goats bleeting. We also had the pleasure of being there at the time where they had puppies on the property. They were so cute! The treehouse was warm and comfortable perfect for the three of us. The two petite girls stayed in the loft bed and I stayed on the futon couch down below. The heater kept us nice and toasty as we went there in December so it got brisk at night. There was was a camp kitchen, outdoor shower hut & portopotty just a just a short walk up the hill from the treehouse. There were dishes and cooking utensils provided as well as running water and a stove for cooking. Everything we needed. Our purpose for the weekend was to be surrounded by nature and to do a healing retreat weekend. We each booked a constellation therapy session with Michelle. Let me tell you she is absolutely magical. Such a compassionate and knowledgeable healer. It was truly transformative on so many levels. The animals participated as well. My favorite part was when the horses nuzzled my back during the final session. Our hosts Jeremy and Michele made sure that all of our needs were met and were extremely welcoming and excited to have us there. I would highly recommend this to anyone! Thanks M&J!! 💖 MAGIC!
