Weekend Trip to Grey Oaks

Zach and Kirstin are very kind! I'd absolutely recommend this site to anyone. Very quiet. And if you book the site that I had (site 4), it comes with a great view. Don't forget to bring extra blankets. It can be kinda chilly. Our hosts also saved us a couple times with their bin of "commonly forgotten items" that you can borrow. We forgot coffee cups. Without their help, we wouldve been drinking from a paper bowl. Great experience! I'd be happy to camp here again sometime! The shower was also very clean and they provided us with plenty of firewood for 2 nights.

I really liked the experience camping at Zak’s campsite. It was clean, well maintained and had all the amenities as described. The popcorn pot and popcorn were a fun touch. The location is conveniently located to a gas station but also very cozily tucked away such that you feel like you’re in wilderness similar to being in a state or national park. I would recommend.

Camping on Zak's property was amazing. He and Kristen were friendly and responsive. I recommend paying the couple dollars to park on site instead of in the guest parking lot simply for convenience. Poison oak is all over the place, but they cleared out the main parts of the campsites really well, just don't go exploring in the woods. They did have a washing station and poison oak specific soap/scrub as well as some calamine which was great. Property is just far enough out that it feels private and not too far from town that you can't make a quick trip if needed. 10/10- would highly recommend staying here.

Weekend Trip to The Ranch at Cross Road

We arrived at the Ranch later in the afternoon, and navigating the large fifth-wheel trailer onto the property proved a bit challenging. The turn into the entrance is somewhat tight, and entering the gate code would have temporarily blocked the street—something to keep in mind for future guests. The property itself is stunning—peaceful, scenic, and beautifully maintained. Unfortunately, due to our late arrival and early departure the next morning, we didn’t have the opportunity to explore the common areas. It was a real treat to let the dogs roam freely after a long day on the road. They thoroughly enjoyed the open space, though it’s worth noting that there are some foxtails and burrs around, which can easily get caught in their coats—something to be mindful of. The sunset was absolutely breathtaking. There was a gathering at a neighboring facility that evening, and while we could hear their music softly in the distance, it added a pleasant, festive undertone to the quiet night. Later, the sound of coyotes calling under the stars brought a touch of wild charm, followed by roosters crowing at dawn—a true country experience. Though our stay was brief and we didn’t have the chance to meet Matt, we thoroughly appreciated the serene atmosphere and would gladly return for a longer visit in the future.

Love this little place, it was exactly what I had hoped for, there was shade at the tent site, and the umbrella over the table made a bug difference from the sun as well. I brought my dog and we made friends with the other campers- even exchanged numbers so we could meet again here and let our dogs play together again. 10\10 would very much recommend!(already have!) thank you!

A great place to stop for the outdoor enthusiast who needs a stopover for one night. Someone on bicycle tour or on a road trip. You have to check out before 9am because of their programs so it's not a place to set up and stay. Epically beautiful view, you are camping and overlooking the ocean. There aren't other places in this area to camp and be so close to the ocean. It's worth the money and you get to support a great organization, very quiet and peaceful. Not a place for drinking or parties. It's a hike in! Pack light and you need to be able to hike a narrow trail to get there.

Camped here for one night on a long road trip and really loved it. The location is pretty easy to find even though we came in at sunset. The space is large and would be super fun with a small group. It was just me and my partner so we chilled and cooked dinner. The provided table was large and made it easy to cook outside under the stars.

Absolutely beautiful place! Kind hosts, well-maintained, and so many amazing amenities. Blackberry Farm was exactly what we needed for a coastal getaway night. We came from hiking up at Tomales Point, and explored Point Reyes the next day.

If you like to be social and have bonfire and have a nice chat with fellow campers , this is the place for you. We are committed to provide good beds and beddings because we know how important good sleep is (even when you camp!) so we just spent time, money and energy to replace all of our camping mattresses with memory foam mattresses!!! We had people swear that this is the best bed they ever slept in. The campground is located in a serene oak grove area of the property. Its a peaceful getaway with an abundance of bird varieties and occasional wild turkeys passing through. Take a stroll around our 5-acre property and catch a breathtaking sunset from the hillside. We're only 11 minutes away from Mount Madonna State Park and just 10 minutes from a local healthy grocery store and yoga studio. The beautiful Pajaro Dunes coastal area is just a 15-minute drive away, and the Santa Cruz Fairground is only two minutes away. Our location is surrounded by family friendly farms such as Gizdich ranch and nurseries, hence why it's considered the salad bowl of the United States. The Santa Cruz beaches are only 15-25 minutes away, while Monterey Bay Aquarium is just 30 minutes away and Gilroy Gardens is about 25 minutes away. The wine trail is also nearby. There are plenty of activities to enjoy nearby, including horseback riding at Mount Madonna Stable, Mount Madonna Retreat Center, hiking at Mount Madonna State Park, wine tastings at various wineries with stunning views, kayaking at Elkhorn Slough or any beaches, yoga at Watsonville Yoga or onsite, swimming, scuba diving in Monterey, visiting the Hanoman temple at Mount Madonna retreat center, and attending any events at the Santa Cruz Fairground. The property has 3 stalls for hot showers, 1 hand washing sink, 3 flushable toilettes, 1 communal outdoor kitchen with supplies of cookwares, dishes, mugs, glasses, utensils, pots and pans, coffee mugs, and 1 sink with hot water, 3 fire pits (2 of them is fire burning and 1 of them is propane), camping stoves, 1 gas barbeque and there is an electricity in the communal kitchen area. There are many things to do such as hiking at Land of Medicine Buddha or Forrest of Nisene Mark, Stroll around at Capitola Village, Have coffee and do awesome thrift shopping in downtown Aptos or in Soquel, Get some free foods from Free Food church on Wednesday evening (Yes, locally grown organic produce!), have a picnic on the cliff to watch the sunset, this town kind of remind you what's like to be in town without big boxes and franchise stores everywhere, life as its finest. This campground is also a great setting for your celebrations with two stages, a celebration area, a stone fired pizza oven and a sound systems (These are extras). Slide Ranch Campsites

Slide Ranch is a nonprofit organization established in 1970, becoming one of the first Park Partners in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The tent-only campsite area is 1/4 mile hike (about 10 minutes, mostly-flat) from the parking lot and is not accessible by vehicle. Campers must park in the visitor parking lot and hike into the campsite area. We provide a limited number of wheelbarrows to help transport your personal items to the area. Campers are not permitted to sleep in their cars, vans, or campers in the parking lot. Minors aged 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult; no drop offs or pick ups permitted. No pets allowed; service animals are permitted. We do not have showering facilities or flush toilets. A composting toilet is at the campsite and Porta-potties are available around the property. Soap is provided for hand washing. Water in all Slide Ranch taps is potable for refilling water bottles/jugs. There is no running water at the campsite but there will be a limited number containers of water for use in hand washing, dish washing, and limited for drinking. Slide Ranch does not have any concessions on site. Please plan to bring any snacks or picnic items you’d like to enjoy while enjoying the ranch. Per GGNRA regulations, campfires and open flames of any kind are not allowed outdoors at the campsite. Portable camp stoves and BBQs are strictly prohibited. Cooking is only allowed on the provided propane stove located inside the Dome. Please bring whatever items you need to prepare and enjoy your meals. Slide Ranch is located on the Marin coast, on land that has a rich history in connecting people to food. The Coast Miwok once fished and foraged for food at this site, and in the late 19th century Portuguese dairy farmers purchased the land and produced milk and butter for residents of San Francisco. In 1969, 134 acres of this fertile coastline were rescued from commercial development and purchased by the Nature Conservancy. Slide Ranch offers camping to fund summer camp scholarships and other programs throughout the year.

The Rainbow Junction offers a unique camping experience at the intersection of Mines Road and HWY 130 in the San Antonio Valley. We operate a restaurant and we offer camping friendly meals for guests. We love the wildness of this property and do not allow cars or vehicles beyond the parking lot. All of our sites are hike in sites. It's about a 1/4 mile hike on a small foot path. We have a wagon available for guests to use and we are happy to help you carry your things. We host a communal fire pit in the evenings, weather permitting, for all guests to enjoy, we do not allow open fires on the property. Cal Fire has requested that all campers get a permit, even to operate a gas stove. The permit is free and takes just a few minutes. https://permit.preventwildfiresca.org/ Please pack your trash, food scraps can be place in our compost but please be prepared to take all other items with you when you leave. Our swimming pond is about a 3/4 mile hike through brush from the restaurant but is a great way to beat the heat during the day! Campsites have a picnic table. A dry toilet is a short walk from campsites and we equip sites with a water dispenser and a sealed container for trash. Water from our well is always available outside of the restaurant and bathrooms with running water are available during business hours. There is a fire trail along one of our ridge lines that offers stunning views of the San Antonio Valley as well as our abundant wildlife. We sometimes host speakers and educational workshops and guests are always welcome to participate in events. Campers, trailers, RVs and Vans are welcome to stay in our lot but we currently do not have hookups available. Have a large group? We are happy to reserve group sites.
