My fiancé and I absolutely loved spending a few days and nights at Desert Stargazer Cabin. The provided pictures in this listing sure do the place justice, but, I’d still like to go into sharing about the details… Fully stocked kitchen, brand new appliances, fully stocked bathroom and shower, washer dryer in-one. A large indoor jacuzzi in the bathroom with jets and color-changing lights. The bed was a dream, couch very comfortable, many board games to choose from; it just felt like home. Hot tub outside, hanging hammocks on back porch, outside seating on both sides. A beautiful backyard with solar-generated colored lights under every bush, all of which turned on automatically just before dusk. A magical fire pit with big logs and rocks to sit on circling the ring. Very private and safely gated with a lock. We had the entire property to ourselves. I highly recommend this place. And, Mike, the owner/host, is an incredibly professional, kind, and accommodating individual. Very prompt with his replies to online private messages, as well as to phone calls and texts. We will never forget this place… wanna know why? Because we will surely be back to this gem!

This place is so great if you want some amenities but yet feel off grid! I love camping but my girlfriend doesn't and this was the perfect mix! Not to far from town but you definitely feel secluded 10 out of 10 we had a perfect relaxing weekend together

I had an incredibly peaceful and comfortable time! We were excited with lower expectations but were pleasantly surprised with how welcoming and clean everything was. It's really cute and well equipped. lmao I honestly had a better experience than any airb&b we have grabbed in the past. I appreciate the second property fence for the curious exploring pup! He adored your property lol. It was a nice escape for the whole family

Everything about Mikael’s stargazers cabin was beyond expectation. You enter the magical space and immediately feel like you are in your own little world. You can see how much thought and love went into creating a tranquil and beautiful oasis in the desert. Mikael himself was also above and beyond with great recommendations and cheerful demeanor. I truly appreciate his ability to create such an idyllic space and his willingness to share it with strangers.

1 night at Bayview Bungalow

We only stayed one night at Melissa’s hilltop bungalow but it truly felt like a full getaway. The location is peaceful and just tucked away enough to feel like an escape, with a glimpse of the lake from the porch and a park nearby where you can launch the kayaks she provides. The bungalow was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed. We travel with our yellow lab and loved how dog friendly it was. We cooked, watched movies, and ended the night soaking in the hot tub under the stars. As a couple who usually camps, this was such a treat. The perfect mix of nature and comfort. We didn’t want to leave and are already planning to come back for a longer stay.

For sure we can coming back to Mikael's place, great customer service, is a perfect place for a couples, but if ypu have kids they will have a blast. Plus his recommendations were really helpful and uff the aki sushi that he recommend to me were awesome.and the price pretty reasonable. The workers are not so friendly hahaha but worth it on food , price and fast service.

Words can’t begin to describe how amazing this HipCamp experience was for me and my girlfriend. Such a beautiful location with complete privacy and breathtaking views. The cabin was so cool and unique yet provided everything we needed for a comfy stay (and much more!) The property is set up very thoughtfully and the wide open views of the desert were amazing. The deck area with the hot-tub and patio was perfect for relaxing after our desert adventures during our J-Tree vacation. The stargazing was just incredible. This is the perfect place to relax and disconnect from the everyday life stuff while enjoying the amazing desert magic of J-tree. The super quiet surroundings made for such a relaxing and zen vibe. I could go on-and-on but you should just get out there and experience this magical spot for yourself! So grateful to our amazing host for making sure we were comfortable during our stay. We spent five nights at Serena‘s beautiful cabin paradise. If you’re looking for an immersive desert experience, with comfortable beds, lots of privacy, a hot tub, and easy access to Joshua tree National Park, this is your place. 2 nights at Desert Bliss, Joshua Tree, Huge Skies, Tub & Pool

I booked two nights at Desert Bliss so that I would have easy access to drive into Joshua Tree National Park to do some hiking with a friend. Tim was very responsive, from confirming the initial booking through to minor questions during our stay. The cabin was neat and clean and everything thing we could think of was provided. The location was close enough to town and to the park, but far enough from the main highway that we felt like we had escaped from all the craziness of our normal lives. The cowboy tub and hot tub were wonderful options for sore legs after our long hikes. My friend used the hammocks in the back to watch the sunrise and for stargazing. The small heat/cool unit seemed adequate for the space, although we barely used it because the weather was quite temperate this week. Both of us would have loved to stay longer. I wouldn't hesitate to book this cabin again.

I loved Serina’s cabins they were located in a spot that felt like you were alone in the desert with amazing views and the quiet. However it is under 30 minutes to get to 29 Palms and 12 minutes to Joshua Tree town. We loved staying here.

This was an incredible location in Joshua Tree. Really beautiful accommodations and a beautiful place. And Serena couldn't have been more helpful. We even had a small minor emergency. But she was quick to the rescue, way more than we would've expected. Ten out of ten.

LOVED coming home to our sweet abode! Very private! The hot tub is AMAZING anddd it is actually totally close enough to “town” to grab anything easily.

Beautiful place. Amazing view all day long. For us it was the perfect hybrid- I got to use my teardrop camping trailer and others had running water, showers, hot tub, etc. Feels very remote - we didn’t see or hear any other humans the entire time we were there. Directions to get there are simple and the road manageable for most vehicles. I pulled my 17 ft trailer to the site in 2WD. Longer trailer setups might find it too tight. Comms with the host were clear and quick. I will certainly be back.

For our summer guests: We have a very strong central A/C throughout. I have stayed here in 114 degree heat and it has still been cool and comfortable inside. For our winter guests: We have an indoor pellet fireplace which keeps the living room warm, and our bed has a dual-control heating pad (each side can choose their own heat level), and there is a radiant wall heater in the bathroom. There is also central heating for the especially cold nights--please use only when necessary as we are on electric only here and the central heater is not very energy efficient. Our hot tub is designed to stay hot all the time so we always have it set for 100 degrees so it's ready to go when you arrive. Backyard has firepit for cold winter nights to enjoy the stars. We are available through the app or phone any time during your stay and also have local contacts available as well for any on-site emergencies. We're located in Johnson Valley, just about 5 minutes to King of the Hammers/Johnson Valley OHV area, 17 minutes to the Integratron, 18 minutes to La Copine Restaurant, 35 minutes to downtown Joshua Tree, 40 min to Joshua Tree Park West entrance, 45 min to Big Bear. We are just near the "Valley Vista Airport" if you want a better sense of the location. 4 adults max per reservation. Guest count must be accurate on reservation to see the correct pricing. INFO ABOUT PETS: Dogs must be pre-approved before booking (please provide age, size, breed, etc.) to make sure they're a good fit for our place. There is a $50 pet fee per dog per reservation ($50 fee applies weekly for bookings of 7 days or longer). Please note no dogs on furniture and dogs cannot be left alone in the house at any time. There is doggie daycare for $18/day at Blue Barn Ranch or $30/day at Joshua Tree Pet Resort. We have real marble floors and ask you ensure your dogs have trimmed nails before they arrive that will not scratch them. Please note our property is not fenced. We have a neighbor that walks by each morning with 2 large and friendly dogs around 6:30-7am. There are coyotes and other wild animals that can be in the area so dogs should never be let out alone after dark. We do have a compact washer/dryer and only give access only for stays 5 or more nights. Please keep in mind we are on hauled water and usage should be within reason. OUTDOOR AMENITIES: We have a sitting area with wood firepit. Please note we do not provide firewood--they can be purchased at any local grocery store. If we have some there you are welcome to use it, but we don’t guarantee we will supply it or replenish if it runs out during your stay. If you are coming for a long stay and would like a lot of firewood, our neighbor can give you a quote to deliver. HOT TUB: No glass around or in hot tub, we have plastic cups provided. Please place hot tub cover on wood surround or rocks below, not on the ground/dirt. Please rinse off in the shower and wipe dirt/sand off your feet before entering hot tub. All 4 buckles on the cover and extra sandbags must be secured when not in use—it gets very windy here and the cover could easily blow away. Hot tub can be used any time, but please respect our neighbors and keep noise to a minimum after 10pm. ***Please note our hot tub gets serviced weekly on Fridays*** TV/INTERNET: We have a Roku TV with basic live channels as well as typical smart apps. Our wifi is 25 down/5 up and we typically actually get those speeds or a bit more on our tri-band mesh network with coverage both inside and outside the house. I have been able to watch streaming TV plus use my laptop to work at the same time without any issues. However please note when it gets especially windy, the internet can go in and out. DESERT/CABIN STUFF TO CONSIDER!! Please be aware we are in the actual desert! We have lots of nature around us and you will see some bugs and critters during your stay. We recommend keeping door closed at all times whenever possible to prevent bugs from getting in. During the summer there are lots of flies--if you leave doors open they will get inside. We have eco-friendly bug spray provided. In order to reach the house you'll need to drive about a mile down a dirt road. It's generally well-maintained and easy to drive, any type of car should be able to drive it (including regular sedans, etc.). However if there's heavy rain, it's possible it could be too muddy for 2-wheel drive vehicles. I have been able to get here without a problem in my 2WD SUV in the rain and even snow, but we are at the mercy of Mother Nature! Due to their age and not having screens, the windows are not to be opened (they are difficult to close and require multiple people and possibly tools to close them, tons of bugs go inside if left open, etc.). You can run the A/C on fan only if you want air circulation without A/C, but guests are not permitted to open them. We are on a water tank which means you need to be aware of willing to be conscious of your water use. Due to being on hauled water and septic and high electric costs, absolutely no filling up, emptying, or hooking up power of RVs, electric cars, trailers, etc. We have plenty of room if you want to park them on our property. We have two partially buried storage containers which we have created a barrier edge around the top, but guests need to be very cautious around the edges as there is a steep drop off on the other side of the barrier. In general guests need to take extreme care if choosing to walk around the yard as there may be steps and inclines that may be dangerous to walk on. There are animals and sharp desert plants on the property which could be dangerous to pets, children, or even adults. Guests exploring the property or letting their children/pets wander around the property do so at their own risk. If you drive off of the gravel areas of the driveway, you could get stuck in the sand, especially if your car does not have 4-wheel drive. We recommend to only drive and park on the areas with the gray rocks. As we are in an area where water is an especially precious resource, please be mindful of running the dishwasher or washing machine only when it's full, and if possible at night when the energy costs are lower. No electric car charging--if you charge your car or use any energy heavy equipment you will be charged an additional $50/day, or for actual cost of the extra usage above our average daily use, whichever is higher. This is a high fire hazard area, use of the firepit or smoking outside must be done with extreme care. Any fires in the firepit and cigarette butts must be fully extinguished and cannot be left unattended. Sometimes during high winds the county prohibits fires. It can get quite windy is this area, so we do not recommend leaving anything outside that could blow away or get knocked over. For this reason no inside furniture or linens can go outside at any time. Outdoor blankets must be taken with you when you go back inside. When it's especially windy power and/or internet can go in and out. Some carriers get service at our house, but the most reliable method is to turn your phone into airplane mode and connect to the wifi. In the Summer: A/C should be turned off or left at 78 when leaving the house for extended periods of time. Door should always be closed when A/C is on. In the Winter: Heating should be turned off or left at 65 when leaving the house for extended periods of time. Door should always be closed when heating is on.
