Whitewater Cabin is in a stunningly remote location. Until recently, it was impossible to obtain any internet access at all. Thanks to Starlink, we now have fast satellite internet on site. Please note that it is normal for the system to drop out for periods of 30 seconds up to 2 minutes at a time since this is early stage technology.
STRONG WINDS
The winds in the desert are very strong between February and June which may limit your enjoyment of the outdoor amenities. We do all we can to navigate around the winds but cannot control the impact it may have on your stay.
POWER OUTAGES
The power is cut off for 8-12 hours at least twice a year by the electrical company in order for maintenance to be done (for instance in preparation for the fire seasons). We inform our guests of outages as soon as we are made aware but cannot control the time or manner in which this may impact your stay.
REFUNDS
Should any inconveniences such as those listed above or anything else beyond our control affect your stay, we will not provide refunds. Please understand certain things simply come with the windy, rural, desert location. Thank for understanding!
PETS
There is a one time, non-refundable pet fee of $80 per pet and no more than 2 dogs are allowed. We kindly request that any pets accompanying your reservation be specified under the "Extras" section. Failure to include this information will result in the pet fee being deducted from your deposit. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

We absolutely loved staying at Campo Napolito. We stayed in the Eureka Casita which is very nice, spacious, and has a lovely minimal interior. The front porch and fire pit out front are amazing. We could have sat out there with our dogs for days. A big star of this property is the kitchen. It is very well equipped with just about anything you could ask for. When we were there, it really felt like a community with everyone gathering in the kitchen and easily sharing the space to cook at the same time. The communal seating areas are also very well done.

Weekend Trip to Granite Mountain
I stayed in the eagles nest (site 3) cabin over the weekend and had an absolutely wonderful experience. It’s a very cute spot both beautiful and cozy and offers the perfect balance of comfort with a true glamping feel. The cabin was thoughtfully equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay.
The views were breathtaking, and at night the sky was incredibly clear, allowing us to see so many stars. One of my favorite moments was having breakfast outside with a cup of coffee while taking in the peaceful surroundings and fresh air it felt calm and restorative.
The host was great: communication was easy, directions were clear, and everything from check-in to the stay itself was smooth and stress-free. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a relaxing escape in nature without sacrificing comfort.

Staying at coyote cabana on nopalito farm was such a great experience. Jacob was very friendly and keeps the land well maintained. The comfort of sleeping on mattresses with warm blankets made our get away so much more comfortable. If you are looking for a casual get away from home and want to enjoy nature, this is the place to stay. The host’s dog Gertie is very friendly and played all day with our dog Loba. Off leash friendly was what stood out to us when booking this location.

Hanna Flat Campground
Stayed here a few nights and had a really great time. Only issue were that the restrooms got pretty bad at times. Sounded like there was only one camp host working 80-ish sites due to some type of personal emergency for the other. Sites seemed nice and big and well cared for. Road to get in was a little bumpy but doable for pretty much all cars.

Decent campground with some pretty views near Lake Arrowhead etc. Took my mom camping here for her birthday when I couldn't find anything else available in the area.

10/10 would recommend this campground. First off the camp hosts were so welcoming and friendly. They were beyond knowledgable and helpful with any questions we had. The bathrooms were always clean and supplied with toilet paper. Location was perfect, we stopped by Big Bear on our way home - such a beautiful drive!

Really nice group campground with shade and it’s own little meadow. Private vault bathrooms too! The road is a pretty awful dirt road so I would not recommend an RV or lowered vehicle. Lots of OHV trails around the campground as well.

Really lovely campground for a weekend out of L.A!
The road in can be a little bumpy but it's fine if you don't have a 4WD (I saw a Tesla sedan in there, as well as an old Kombi bus and an ancient Celica!).
The sites are nice but pretty close to each other, so if there's kids or other noisemakers it will feel like they're in your tent with you. Also, I'd avoid the sites next to the restrooms if you can.

My friend and I decided, on a Saturday morning in the summer, to camp in Big Bear for the weekend. We had hoped to get a first come, first serve site at our go to, Heartbar Campground, but they were booked. Luckily, this campsite had openings. Most of the sites are pretty spread out so you're not right up next to other campers and there is a pretty little creek along one side of the campsite. The only negative would be that it is right next to a highway so there is that constant traffic noise. BUT, loved the site and will be camping there again on our next last minute mountain trip!

Just camped here over the weekend. While it was pretty crowded, I absolutely loved the stay. The forrest and lake are beautiful, there are some fantastic hiking trails, and there are all the amenities you could ask for. 10/10!

This is pretty primitive camping. High ground clearance is a must in the summer and 4wd required in the winter. There is one vault toilet on the mountain, and no source of potable water. For a real challenge try to find the USMC helicopter that crashed on the mountain in 1968, much of the remains are still there.

This spot is great for large groups. It is fairly secluded but a very large space. There are 6 picnic tables and two large grills as well as a fire pit and outdoor bathroom. The road to get in can be a little bumpy as it is dirt but I was able to get my fiat in and was fine. I loved how large the space was and there is some room to go exploring around the campsite.

Awesome spot close to LA!
Stayed on a Thursday night in mid September at campsite #8. Girlfriend and I wanted to take our pup for her first adventure, and access to the campground is easy. Site 8 has a beautiful view of the valley, especially at sunset. The sites have a picnic table, fire pit and are generally flat and clear of obstacles. There was no access to water when we visited. Sites seemed to be fairly spread out, but could still hear neighbors after quiet hours unfortunately.
Close to Marion Mountain trial head and Idyllwild is a short drive away for supplies and firewood.
All in all, would recommend. Will be coming back again!

We went to Lake Arrowhead for a short weekend trip in late August/ September and it was still pretty busy with families, not recommended if you want a quiet site.

Heart Bar is a fantastic campground not too far from LA. If you're looking to get out of the city even for a quick one nighter. This is a great spot. If you have a 4WD vehicle, even better, as there are roads just past the campground. Great for people who just want to setup, post up, and camp.

Great group camping spot at the base of Snow Summit, just a short drive from downtown Big Bear. Spot #17 was big, far enough away from neighbors, and a short walk to the bathroom. Would recommend families, group campers, and visitors looking for a cheap place to stay near downtown Big Bear.

A lot of small sites; especially on the inner loop. Sites 4, 14 & 15 are the better ones. If you're going to get something on the inner loop, 8 isn't too bad either.
All in all, I like this campground.

Hard to get to without a 4-wheel drive or other car with good ground clearance. In the summer, mosquitoes can be an issue. Love coming here for good bouldering and to get away from the rest of Southern California / LA. The only place down here that I can escape to trees / some semblance of alpine.

Serrano is a convenient and comfortable campground, ideal for families and campers who want some nature without roughing it too much. There are a lot of sites and during the summer months it can get pretty full. There are flushing toilets, hot water, and even showers. I really like the location of the campground. There is a paved bike path that goes through the campground and along some pretty views of the lake. It also connects to the Big Bear Discovery Center.

A decent campground within a couple hours of the major population center that is LA. The campsites are pretty well spaced out which is nice for a little more privacy and there is a decent amount of trees throughout the campground. The vault bathrooms aren't the best, but I have seen much worse. Bring a light with you to the bathroom because it was dark even during the day. There really isn't a whole lot to do in the area, but this is good campground if you just want to chill and hangout on a short weekend getaway. Be aware they charge $5 on any second vehicle at your campsite, even though it says you're allowed 2 vehicles.
