Important things to know: * The road to the Pull-In Dry Camp RV is gravel and easy to navigate. * The road to the remaining sites is unpaved, rocky, mountainous, and very rough. This terrain can be difficult to navigate so AWD or 4WD vehicles are recommended. Low-profile vehicles are not advised. Optional parking may be available for the hike-in. * Creeks are full in the wet season but dry up in summer. Good to know: * People who have stayed there like how quiet it is and how close it is to Yosemite. * There are other camping options nearby if Canyon Crest is booked. Our stay at Squirrel Rock was absolutely fantastic. Julie was super nice and gave us the perfect balance of attention and privacy. The campground is beautiful and so well maintained plus there are lots of things to see in the Columbia area. We will definitely be coming back and recommend Squirrel Rock to everyone else looking for a quiet getaway in the gold country.

we’ve stayed at John’s farm 3 times now, once in spring and twice in late November. every time it has been so amazing! the property is gorgeous and there’s so much open grassy areas to wander and sit on a blanket and just enjoy being in nature and not hearing any sounds but cows mooing! the porta potty is always clean and the camping spaces are large and well equipped with fire pits and wood! i would highly recommend John’s land to anyone. thank you again for sharing your property, John!

Weekend Trip to Camp Electra in Mokelumne Hill

Ryan was a great host and very gracious. We purchased firewood from him and he brought us kindling twice when we were having trouble, teaching us about making fires along the way. We have an RV, but there is an outhouse with toilet and hot shower, and a sink to do dishes on the other side. Great view of the stars with minimal light pollution. Would recommend.

We wanted to take our new van on its first overnight and Delta Shores is nearby! It was easy to find, we were welcomed and given the lay of the land. It’s a great spot with clean bathrooms. We were definitely rough out as our van hasn’t been converted to a camper yet but we had a blast! Took a great walk along the delta both in the evening and the next morning. Will return! Dog loved it!

Dino’s place was great! The property was cool, spacious, and peaceful. There were miles of hiking trails right out the back of the property, and a little boat ramp about a 3-5 minute walk that we would have used for paddling if the weather was better. The town of Locke is a very short walk and was an amazing bit of little-known history, also had some cool shops. There are a couple restaurants a short walk or drive away. Dino was very hospitable and we loved our stay! We’ll be back for sure. Oh, and I should add our dogs enjoyed exploring the area too :)
