While Chico may look a bit far away on the map, the highway gets you there in 20 short minutes. This university town is well known for its mixture of vibrance, the arts, and small town rural living. The area boasts truly amazing restaurants, bars, shopping and modern amenities. Our property is very close to access points for the famous Upper Bidwell park. We will share a guidebook full of our personal recommendations of things to do in the area.

Congratulations Campers! The campground is reopened after the last couple of years of wild fires and tough winters. We are reopened even as repairs and upgrades are being made. Thank you to all visitors who love this place for your patience as we continue to improve the features of the Campground. Stay tuned for progress reports. We hope to see you real soon. Visit, fish, or camp in a rare jewel forest, hidden in the Sierra/Cascade foothills, less than an hour's drive to Chico, Oroville, or Paradise. Surviving forests of mature cedars, pines, oaks, and madrones provide shady camping, fishing along the lake shore, or picnicing along the banks of the creek that runs through a recovering creekside area. Stargaze or fly kites in our Great Meadow or admire copious wildflowers and other native plants on over 80 acres of wilderness. We provide a variety of recovering wilderness areas near water faucets, pit toilets and an RV dump station. Our site features mature forests, grassy meadows, a year-round creek in a fire recovery zone. The site also features lakefront shoreline access for bank fishing, a central fire pit and lots of space for group camping. Fires are permitted in the central pit when weather allows. The Lake Concow/Konkow Campground is a wilderness sanctuary and houses many variety of rare and endangered plants, animals, and insects. Please be aware of and give respectful space to all of the residents of the park. The list of year round residents may include poison oak, thorny berry vines, mosquitoes, ticks, spiders, deer, eagles, osprey, owls, squirrels, skunks, foxes, bears, mountain lions, snakes, bats, and more. Please be responsible for personal camp supplies and trash. The Campground is a Pack In/Pack Out location and garbage cans are supplied near the office house near the entrance. Good hiking shoes, protective clothing, and hats are recommended. All Campground faucets supply delicious, potable water tested regularly. The modern listings spell the name Concow, Ancestors spelled it Konkow. Both are correct, though may give different search results. There is plenty of room for parking large vehicles and for turning around. TOW VEHICLES MUST STAY THE DURATION OF THE CAMPING VISIT. Sorry, we DO NOT allow towed-in-and-dropped-off campers or 5th wheel trailers at this time. This may change as clean up work progresses through the year. Stay tuned for updates. Thank you.

The Maple Creek Ranch and Tree Farm has been family owned and operated since 1934. The patriarch of the family, whose family had moved here from Denmark, had a great love of the forest and trains. The property was one of the first certified tree farms in California with the goal of nurturing a healthy forest. In the 1960’s, a mile of railroad tracks was laid and the whistle of a small, steam engine train could be heard throughout the community. Local residents and kids were treated to free train rides and special events for many years.
There is a natural spring with a small creek that supplies the ponds with fresh water year around. There is also a small canyon on the property with a larger stream called Mud Creek. The land is rich in Indian history and there a artifacts and other signs on the Indians presence.
The Cohasset area is relatively unknown. 15 miles from our property is Deer Creek and the Lasson National Forest is about a 2 hour drive north.
While staying with us you can pitch your tent on our private 500 acres. We have 2 primitive camping spots on our property. Each spot has a picnic table and
fire pit. There is a flush toilet shared for both camp sites. * During freezing weather the toilets may be closed so they don’t freeze! Please check before booking
*The spots are spread out to ensure privacy. Our property is surrounded by the forest and is loaded with deer, squirrels, turkeys and other forest animals. We have numerous walking trails, a fresh water pond for fishing and swimming. Please notify us if you have an RV.

The Sierra Sol Camp project has been hosting community events and friend gathering for years. We take great pride in extending a warm and welcoming space for all our visitors and extending the invitation to campers was a great next step.
We have listings ranging from yurts to shipping containers, an old water tower converted to a vintage trailer and canvas tents.
We are based in between the middle fork of the Yuba river right where it meets up with Oregon Creek. If you like a long walk it is 2.5 miles down the dirt road to Oregon Creek and the middle fork of the Yuba. Driving takes 5 to 10 mins. The other direction is the largest lake in our county Bullards Bar Reservoir and Emerald Cove Marina. We are 1 mile down Marysville Rd. from a launch called dark day. There is a trailhead at the top of overflow boat parking for a public swimming hole on the lake.
On our property, we have a main house with its own private facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and bath. On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink.
Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. We have a natural spray for that or fans in the kitchen. Off the path, you may find poison oak in the thick of the woods. So please stay on the marked trails.

Camp cooking has never been easier, as the community kitchen is well equipped with 2 full-sized refrigerators, gas stove/oven, pots and pans, dishware, silverware, triple sink, and two outdoor barbeques. The cooks will especially appreciate our unique outdoor “dishwashing station” for each individual (even kids!) to efficiently wash their own dishes instead of using throw-away plastic for each meal. Our bathhouse has two private toilets, two private showers with hot water and a double sink. Bring your own towels and toiletries.

Our options include a cozy studio cabin with a full bed, bunk beds, or futon, our popular loft cabin that sleeps up to six with a queen bed and two full mattresses in a low-ceiling loft, and our spacious chalet with room for eight. Each cabin comes with a fully stocked kitchen and essential items like linens and towels, ensuring a comfortable stay. To make your stay more comfortable, we suggest bringing along some additional beach towels, as the towels provided are meant for use only within the cabin. Pet Policy
All our cabins and seasonal RV sites are pet friendly and we allow up to two dogs per reservation. We ask that they stay off the furniture (beds, sofas etc.) and are not left in the rental unattended. We love dogs, but sadly won’t be able to accommodate heavily shedding pets that aren’t house trained. Additionally, our insurance will not allow "aggressive breeds" that include any mix of: Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Doberman, German Sheppard.
Please pick up after your pup and use a leash when at the camp. Thank you in advance for your consideration and help in keeping our camp a mellow and enjoyable place for everyone.

THE AREA
RiverSea East is located on the San Juan Ridge, an area near Nevada City and Grass Valley that extends about 24 miles between the south and middle forks of the Yuba River.
A small Nevada County community far removed from town, modern day North San Juan is part hippie, part isolationist, part new age and part conservative.It's only a 20 minute drive from downtown Nevada City, but since you have to drive up and down the heavily forested, windy river-canyon road, it feels rather remote. When you get there, it consists of less than ten businesses scattered around the mountains, a bushel of dreadlocked hippies, a bunch of pot farms, a vineyard, and LOTS of empty, undeveloped wood, making North San Juan a really beautiful place, surrounded, as it is, by forested mountains and rivers.
North San Juan is a great place to explore. There's all kinds of hidden spots, neat places to go, river access with good swimming holes and little stores and cafes. This area is spotted with little organic farms, beautiful little houses and the occasional run-down looking trailer.Farm, house OR trailer, because North San Juan and the Ridge are so sparsely populated, every residence seems to have acres of property that the people are free to plant, enjoy or neglect at will.

May through October there is a bath and shower house with hot water and flush toilets. Propane fire pits are available for rent. We have an ice machine on in the summer months located by our Main Lodge.
The winters are cold and snowy, spring and fall are ideal with warm sunny days and cool, crisp nights, and the summer has warm evenings and hot days. There is plenty of shade with large pine, cedar and oak trees and open sunny space in the meadow. Coppercreek Camp is your perfect mountain getaway for the whole family!
Please note: The Dixie fire burned our town of Greenville in August 2021. There is ongoing repair work in the local area, a lot of burned forest, but still many beautiful sites to see. Much of our property burned, but we are rebuilding and have beautiful green trees with plenty of shade. All of our pictures on HipCamp are post-fire and up-to-date. Please come and support our special town as we rebuild!
The town of Greenville is located about 5 minutes from our property and offers a grocery store, Dollar General, gas station with mini mart, and wonderful food trucks. Grab the best quesadillas and drinks from the Way Baby or delicious coffee and breakfast from The Valley Grind.

Visit, fish, or camp in a rare jewel forest, hidden in the Sierra/Cascade foothills, less than an hour's drive to Chico, Oroville, or Paradise. Stargaze or fly kites in our Great Meadow or admire copious wildflowers and other native plants on over 80 acres of wilderness. Our site features mature forests, grassy meadows, a year-round creek in a fire recovery zone. The site also features lakefront shoreline access for bank fishing, a central fire pit and lots of space for group camping. Fires are permitted in the central pit when weather allows. The Lake Concow/Konkow Campground is a wilderness sanctuary and houses many variety of rare and endangered plants, animals, and insects. Please be aware of and give respectful space to all of the residents of the park. The list of year round residents may include poison oak, thorny berry vines, mosquitoes, ticks, spiders, deer, eagles, osprey, owls, squirrels, skunks, foxes, bears, mountain lions, snakes, bats, and more. Please be responsible for personal camp supplies and trash. The Campground is a Pack In/Pack Out location and garbage cans are supplied near the office house near the entrance. Good hiking shoes, protective clothing, and hats are recommended. All Campground faucets supply delicious, potable water tested regularly. The modern listings spell the name Concow, Ancestors spelled it Konkow. Both are correct, though may give different search results. There is plenty of room for parking large vehicles and for turning around. TOW VEHICLES MUST STAY THE DURATION OF THE CAMPING VISIT. The Maple Creek Ranch and Tree Farm has been family owned and operated since 1934. The patriarch of the family, whose family had moved here from Denmark, had a great love of the forest and trains. The property was one of the first certified tree farms in California with the goal of nurturing a healthy forest. In the 1960’s, a mile of railroad tracks was laid and the whistle of a small, steam engine train could be heard throughout the community. Local residents and kids were treated to free train rides and special events for many years.
There is a natural spring with a small creek that supplies the ponds with fresh water year around. There is also a small canyon on the property with a larger stream called Mud Creek. The land is rich in Indian history and there a artifacts and other signs on the Indians presence.
The Cohasset area is relatively unknown. 15 miles from our property is Deer Creek and the Lasson National Forest is about a 2 hour drive north.
While staying with us you can pitch your tent on our private 500 acres. We have 2 primitive camping spots on our property. Each spot has a picnic table and
fire pit. There is a flush toilet shared for both camp sites. * During freezing weather the toilets may be closed so they don’t freeze! Please check before booking
*The spots are spread out to ensure privacy. Our property is surrounded by the forest and is loaded with deer, squirrels, turkeys and other forest animals. We have numerous walking trails, a fresh water pond for fishing and swimming. Please notify us if you have an RV.

The Sierra Sol Camp project has been hosting community events and friend gathering for years. We take great pride in extending a warm and welcoming space for all our visitors and extending the invitation to campers was a great next step.
We have listings ranging from yurts to shipping containers, an old water tower converted to a vintage trailer and canvas tents.
We are based in between the middle fork of the Yuba river right where it meets up with Oregon Creek. If you like a long walk it is 2.5 miles down the dirt road to Oregon Creek and the middle fork of the Yuba. Driving takes 5 to 10 mins. The other direction is the largest lake in our county Bullards Bar Reservoir and Emerald Cove Marina. We are 1 mile down Marysville Rd. from a launch called dark day. There is a trailhead at the top of overflow boat parking for a public swimming hole on the lake.
On our property, we have a main house with its own private facilities such as a kitchen, shower, and bath. On the land, we have 9 total unique cabin and canvas tent structures converted into boutique-like campsites. We have an epic outdoor entertaining kitchen and patio with an outdoor pizza oven and a little dog rinse behind the outdoor shower. The bathhouse is right across the way and provides a private but shared guest shower house, tub and sink.
Like anywhere in the woods there is an hour at sunset when you may have mosquitoes down near the sites in the spring and some of the summers depending on the year. We have a natural spray for that or fans in the kitchen. Off the path, you may find poison oak in the thick of the woods. So please stay on the marked trails.

The cooks will especially appreciate our unique outdoor “dishwashing station” for each individual (even kids!) to efficiently wash their own dishes instead of using throw-away plastic for each meal. Our bathhouse has two private toilets, two private showers with hot water and a double sink. Bring your own towels and toiletries.

Pet Policy
All our cabins and seasonal RV sites are pet friendly and we allow up to two dogs per reservation. We ask that they stay off the furniture (beds, sofas etc.) and are not left in the rental unattended. We love dogs, but sadly won’t be able to accommodate heavily shedding pets that aren’t house trained. Additionally, our insurance will not allow "aggressive breeds" that include any mix of: Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Doberman, German Sheppard.

THE AREA
RiverSea East is located on the San Juan Ridge, an area near Nevada City and Grass Valley that extends about 24 miles between the south and middle forks of the Yuba River.
A small Nevada County community far removed from town, modern day North San Juan is part hippie, part isolationist, part new age and part conservative.It's only a 20 minute drive from downtown Nevada City, but since you have to drive up and down the heavily forested, windy river-canyon road, it feels rather remote. When you get there, it consists of less than ten businesses scattered around the mountains, a bushel of dreadlocked hippies, a bunch of pot farms, a vineyard, and LOTS of empty, undeveloped wood, making North San Juan a really beautiful place, surrounded, as it is, by forested mountains and rivers.
North San Juan is a great place to explore. There's all kinds of hidden spots, neat places to go, river access with good swimming holes and little stores and cafes. Neighbors will report dogs who bark incessantly.

Come stay at our beautiful, quiet, and welcoming sanctuary. There are about 100 acres of hardwood forest and meadows, ponds, and a seasonal creek. We are located 25 minutes from Nevada City, 15 minutes from 2 forks of the Yuba River, and only 10 minutes from a sweet little cafe in historic downtown North San Juan.

Coppercreek Camp is your mountain escape with fresh air and dark night skies perfect for star gazing. Come stay in a cabin or pitch a tent with friends and family and enjoy endless miles of hiking, biking, and riding trails. Coppercreek Camp is located in Plumas County 10 minutes from Lake Almanor, the Feather River, and Round Valley Lake. We are an hour from Lassen National Park.
Picnic by our ponds, play in our sandpit volleyball court, relax in a hammock, watch your kids put on a show at our amphitheater, and watch the sunset over Keddie Peak. The frogs and crickets will sing you to sleep. Ask us how to access our trails and other ponds.
Our bunk cabins are rustic with electricity, windows and locking doors, and each cabin has different bed accommodations. Please bring all of your own bedding and sleeping bags. Some of the cabins have heat/AC.
We have tent sites available with picnic tables and can accommodate dry-camping RVs. We are still working on installing RV hook-ups.
May through October there is a bath and shower house with hot water and flush toilets. Propane fire pits are available for rent. We have an ice machine on in the summer months located by our Main Lodge.
The winters are cold and snowy, spring and fall are ideal with warm sunny days and cool, crisp nights, and the summer has warm evenings and hot days. There is plenty of shade with large pine, cedar and oak trees and open sunny space in the meadow. Coppercreek Camp is your perfect mountain getaway for the whole family!
Please note: The Dixie fire burned our town of Greenville in August 2021. There is ongoing repair work in the local area, a lot of burned forest, but still many beautiful sites to see. Much of our property burned, but we are rebuilding and have beautiful green trees with plenty of shade. All of our pictures on HipCamp are post-fire and up-to-date. Please come and support our special town as we rebuild!
The town of Greenville is located about 5 minutes from our property and offers a grocery store, Dollar General, gas station with mini mart, and wonderful food trucks. Grab the best quesadillas and drinks from the Way Baby or delicious coffee and breakfast from The Valley Grind.

A hot spot in the Gold Rush, our property once was a 1850 homestead, a 1970 back to the land artist's dream. A stone mason built the main cabin, renovated by my stair builder/musician father and artist/chef mother and I built the straw bale cabin. It's an wildlife highway with coyotes, foxes, red tailed hawks, bears, mountain lion, deer, jackrabbits, and lots of birds. I love to share it with HipCampers!

A very quiet place to stage your Yuba Watershed adventure. Mountain biking and hiking on dirt roads, lots of wildlife. You'll start your slowed-down adventure as soon as you drive 3 miles down Jackass Flats road, through historic mining areas and into a literary 'hood that has homed Gary Snyder, Allen Ginsberg and Governor Moonbeam.

We loved the stargazer lookout it was so spacious and there was a heater to keep warm. The property was beautiful and it felt like we were alone out there. The outdoor shower at the sauna is so nice and warm and a great vibe. We can’t wait to come back one night wasn’t enough. We jumped in the river by Bridgeport and went for a little hike that was only a 15min drive from the yurt. Love it!!

We loved staying at The Manzanita bus! The host Rachel was so friendly and helpful when it came to things around the bus even helped us start a warm fire ! The shower and compost toilet were right around the side of the bus so no walking far during the night. The stove was easy to use and having warm water in the sink and shower was a plus! We had an amazing time and would love to stay here again! 100% would recommend to anyone looking for a cozy private place to stay!

I loved everything about staying at Rachel's place! First of all, she is so warm and welcoming. Next, the dogs, cats, horse, and kittens (!) were so sweet and adorable. The bus was exquisite - being surrounded by gorgeous dark wood while cozying up next to the fire or cooking was a lovely, unique experience. And the land is beautiful - the bus is right in the middle of a manzanita forest and I enjoyed walking around the hilly slopes to find the best sunset view. I'll be back for sure!

12 nights at Tambo Ranch Tiny House Village
Spent just under two weeks in the Airstream as a solo traveler and it was perfect.
Location was great - 5 minutes to things in Paradise, 20-30 minutes to things in Chico. Property was wonderful. Beautifully landscaped and tended. Lovely places to sit. Dogs and cats are friendly and chickens, sheep, and alpaca are fun to have around.
The trailer was wonderful. Well appointed and nice to have the equivalent of a separate full-sized couch to hang out on while reading.
Hosts were lovely. Very communicative, responsive, and welcoming.
I would highly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

I’ve been here multiple times and each stay is better than the last. Racheal is the best host and such a good human. I enjoyed playing with her new kittens, and her dogs, and just being able enjoy her space together. The bus is truly unique and so cozy. I made a huge dinner for the first time and big breakfast as well. Was able to have a lovely campfire under the stars with a new moon. I almost don’t wanna share this gem, because you don’t find spaces like this very often.

My family and I had the best time camping at Maple Creek Ranch. We stayed at Site 2, which was privately nestled among the trees—clean, flat, and perfectly peaceful. The site included a deep firepit and a sturdy picnic table, making it easy to relax and cook meals together.
The amenities were fantastic. There was a spotless outhouse just about a hundred feet away (with a flushing toilet!), and a hot shower next to the pond. The pond itself was stocked with bluegill and bass, and my family caught their first-ever fish there—an unforgettable memory!
But the highlight of our stay was Ron, the host. He’s an absolute gem—so kind, genuine, and full of great stories. He brought us firewood and water and when my car battery died on our last day, he didn’t hesitate to drive over with his truck and give me a jump. His hospitality truly made our trip special.
We’ll absolutely be coming back and can’t recommend Maple Creek Ranch enough to anyone visiting the Cohasset/Chico area!

My second time here and I booked just one day before, knowing I needed a space I could have to myself, that offered rest and “being.” Rachel and I got to meet this time, and she helped me set up for an outdoor fire, and even helped with the new hot water heater for the shower. Truly so much love is put into the bus and surrounding areas. I plan to share this place with other solo travelers, because as a solo preferred traveler, this spot is safe and the host is incredibly helpful for anything!
