Tiny Cabin #2 (TC2) sits on top of the property with Mountain to Ocean views. It's a great place for a weekend getaway for Star gazing, watch a sunset and City lights. A place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. A short drive away is the towns of Alpine and Descanso, Cuyamaca State Park and Laguna Mountain. San Diego Beaches are down I-8 . TC2 has two seating areas for your privacy. Plus, plenty of space to roam around. It's above the common game and dining area. Inside has a queen size bed, a small refrigerator, sink, Coffee maker, and cabinet with cooking supplies. There is a microwave, one burner hot plate. The BBQ is propane. We have made some improvements to the TC put in new sturdy steps, bed frame and lights. While a campfire ban is on we do allow Duraflame type logs. The property is located in a high risk fire zone.

Since their passing, the Stables have been managed by their son Scott Tynan. Our stables offer a clean and quiet place for horse owners to board their precious companions - short or long term - or to serve as a weekend getaway for a person or group of friends/riders. Each Boarding Corral has walking space, shaded corners, automated water feeders, soft dirt, partially sheltered sides and is in close proximity to a round pen, a small arena (turnout) and is encompassed by a small walking track. No two corrals are close enough to each other for the horses to interact, reducing the likelyhood of mishap from a neighbor. Each Weekender Corral comes equipped with the same as the above, excepting only the partially sheltered side panels, and are right next to where you will be parking your trailer or camper. With access to all 38 miles of equestrian trails in the area and less than a 2 mile ride to the beautiful South San Diego beaches, D&J Stables is a prime location for horse men and women everywhere. This place is honestly stunning. It’s beautiful, incredibly comfortable, and has everything you could ever need. Waking up to that morning view from the bed was absolutely magical — truly unforgettable. The whole space was spotless, cozy, and thoughtfully put together. The host was incredibly caring and attentive, always making sure I was okay and had everything I needed. Her kindness and quick responses made the stay even better. Five stars aren’t enough to describe how amazing this place is. This was the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in, and I’m definitely coming back.

Weekend Trip to D&J Stables
Scott and Susanne were so kind and such a pleasure to meet! The property is beautiful and not far from some beaches. They allowed us to say hello and meet all the boarded horses on their property and we were surprised by the beautiful shed Scott built and decorated as well as surprised by the hot water shower! This all really elevated our camping experience and I would 10/10 recommend camping here regardless if you bring horses or just yourself and some friends!

A handful of grassy tent sites, partially shaded by jacaranda trees, on a private working horse ranch in the middle of the Tijuana River Valley Regional Park, a couple miles inland from the beach, and a stone's throw away from the border wall with Tijuana. There's a porta-potty as well as a porta-shower, and a 'hangout,' which is a small barn-like structure with a front porch and a sink with running water, and a propane BBQ on a back deck. Hosts Scott and Suzanne were accommodating and friendly.

I love Horse camping at DJ Stables. First of all it has improve since the owners are now living there and running it.. The place is clean, the owners are so kind and they make sure everyone is happy and comfortable. Riding from the Staples to the beach is only mile and a half, and it’s a fantastic ride. The Stables offer a shower and an outhouse, and they are kept very clean. The horse stalls are big clean and they offer feeding and cleaning as well.

I was pleasantly surprised by this peaceful camp spot. The hosts were so kind and friendly. Brought my 7 month old puppy who also had a great experience with their dogs, Koda and Tucker. It's a simple spot. Easy access but the driveway is steep and wouldn't be fun with a larger trailer pulling off that fast road. Like the host says. It's a safe place to stay for the night or 2 before continuing on. We used our trailer as a cheap way to stay near the beach and surrounding area vs having to pay crazy hotel prices on a holiday weekend. The grounds need to be clean. I would've not been happy had I brought my dog with the amount of weeds that could've gotten in her fur. It's again cheap and simple. Shaded in the evening but not most the day.

The cabin was great and the heater was enough to keep it comfortable at night. I definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a peaceful stay in the mountains.

We stayed for 3 nights with our 2 horses. Our 3 horse LQ with 12ft short wall fit once unhooked in the space. We actually set up in space 4 as that was easier access to the gate into the stable area. Very clean, secure location with access to trails. Mostly we stayed here so we could leave the horses and visit our grand daughter at San Diego State. It worked well. Hosts were very accommodating.
