1 night at Roughlands

i was lucky enough to book during the week and had the entire place to myself, though it would be absolutely perfect for a close-knit group of friends! the property offers truly beautiful forest views and super comfortable glamping tents. but the real highlight? the luxurious bathhouse and hot tub, which felt incredibly indulgent in such a relaxing setting. everything here is so aesthetically pleasing and well thought out. on top of all that, jo was a kind host and seemed invested in the property and making it a nice place to be. i thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would return in a heartbeat!

2 nights at Comfort Camping on Love Creek

We enjoyed ourselves immensely!!! The Love Creek Campsite is truly magical. My husband and I stayed two nights celebrating our anniversary, and it was just perfect! The lights in the trees really added a hint of romance to our celebration. The entire space is shaded and, when the temperature was high, sitting in the creek with our feet in the water cooled us down quickly. Desiree provided so many extras like pillows and a blanket to use outside while sitting and enjoying the stars! There are several options around the property to eat, play a game or just sit and chat with friends. I highly recommend this location and can’t wait to return. Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cabin. All of the animals and friendly hosts made it even more of a special spot. We saw a bobcat, deer, fox, bats, lizards and of course the resident horses, goats, sheep, chickens, and our favorite the guardian pups. It was hot during our stay, so the lake was a treat! The outdoor shower helped us stay wet/cool too. The fresh eggs for breakfast were a bonus. We had a very peaceful vacation. Thank you!!

Weekend Trip to Serene Country Paradise

We had a great time staying at Kelly's property. It checked all the boxes! Great views and lots of peace a quiet away from the city (except the squeals from the kids playing in the amazing pool and the cries from them that we had to leave). We were greeted warmly by Kelly who kindly provided a nice bottle of wine to celebrate my wife's birthday. That felt extra special. The accommodations were great, comfy bed, nice sized pullout for the kids, mini fridge and anything you'd need to enjoy a meal while there. We only stayed for 1 night but would have loved to have been able to stay longer!

Weekend Trip to Starry Hot Tub/Cold Plunge Glamping

Ellie and Jack are perfect hosts! They allow the guests to have privacy but they are responsive and helpful when needed. This was our second time here and both times we were really happy and relaxed. That’s the point of going glamping. The place is clean, the hot tub and cold plunge are lovely, relaxing, very nice set up, five star! We’ll be back next year! Thank you!

3 nights at Serene Country Paradise

This was our second time staying here, and we already want to come back again. The first time was in the winter — cozy vibes, evenings by the fireplace, board games, hot tub at sunset… it was perfect. This time we came in the summer and spent so much time outside — swimming in the pool during the day, relaxing in the hot tub at night. Completely different vibe, just as amazing. We noticed so many little improvements since our last stay. The yard is now fully fenced (huge plus for our dog who loves to explore), the fridge is bigger, and there are more than enough hangers now — Kelly really listens to feedback, and it shows. Even though the room is technically part of the main house, we felt like we had our own space the whole time. No shared areas, no awkward run-ins — just your own private entrance straight to the yard with all the awesome amenities. Kelly is a super thoughtful and welcoming host, always checking in to see if we needed anything. We love this place — peaceful, beautiful, and just feels good to be there. Can’t wait to come back 💖

Weekend Trip to Towering Pine Retreat

We really enjoyed the glamping set up at Patricia’s place. The bed was super comfortable, and having a water cooler and mini fridge available to use was very handy. We enjoyed using the fire pit and had no issues while we were there. We also met a cat that lives there and they were very friendly.

Beautiful little home next to beautiful tall trees. Really very special. The owners were very kind and helpful. Next to a ton of lakes and river spots.

2 nights at Private Yurts - Nevada City

Book it! This place is such a treat. The yurt is a short & scenic walk from the parking lot so think about that when packing up heavier things. However, the yurt is FULLY stocked so you really don't need to pack much but food and clothes... and some bug spray. The outdoor shower was my personal favorite even though the hot tub was very nice. It took about 2 hours on a hot day from start to finish to get it to a hot hot hot temp (including chopping the wood that was provided). If you explore hard enough, you may even run into some twin hammocks (; *shout out to California Organics for the bug spray, great beers, and lovely deli)*

1 night at River Oaks Camp

So good! We booked River Yurt 1 for our anniversary night and it was perfect! When we arrived we walked down to the river and swam. We had a dinner in Placerville, then lit a fire in the fire pit to complete our perfect evening. And though it was a hot day the evening was perfectly cool and we slept so well! Totally recommend!!!

We had a wonderful camping trip here! We loved the views and all the animals! Gathering eggs, the baby animals and showering outside were highlights. Jeremy was even kind enough to jump our friend’s truck when it wouldn’t start on the way out. Thanks for all the great memories!

Love creek sanctuary was founded in 2016. It all started with Stu the steer and his best friend Petey the goat, from there we have rescued over 90 animals, 45 make their home here at the sanctuary. Our camping areas are fenced from the animals but you are free to explore our 12 acres and interact with the animals during your stay here. We ask that children under 10 stay outside the animal areas and children over 10 are accompanied by a grownup. We have plenty of art and child friendly activities, just ask and we can set you up. We have a no dog policy because the chickens and birds are free ranging, unfortunately we have had several bad experiences with dogs attacking the birds and other animals. If you have a dog that has been around farm animals and is well behaved, let's talk about it. We have 5 dogs so the birds have NO FEAR of them. ---- We are a working farm - PLEASE READ----- There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning. Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds), roosters crow, guinea fowl chirp. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing. If you are a light sleeper, please bring earplugs or select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you! In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty. We spray all high traffic surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy. Please plan accordingly. We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants. We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca. NOTE: Starting Memorial Day each year, we have replaced all of our wood fire pits with gas fire pits. We have increased our prices to help cover the costs of propane. Thank you for choosing us!

A short 3-minute walk away from the tent you’ll find the shore of the Bear River. Guest access: The tent site is only accessible by 4-wheel drive vehicles. If you do not have a 4-wheel drive vehicle there is parking for up to four vehicles at the house. The tent site is less than a quarter mile walk downhill from the house. River access: If you’d like to visit the river to hang out, swim, or fish you can follow the dirt road next to the tent down to the river (3-minute walk). The riverfront has lounge chairs, a picnic table, and kayak's. The riverbank has small pebbles and rocks so water shoes are highly suggested for comfort when going into the water (recommended but not needed). Come and enjoy the views of the river, forest, and wildlife! This is a private tent site with one other listing on the property which is located at the house. Our property is lakeside at Rollins Lake In Colfax. We live on over 30 private, beautiful acres with footpath access to Rollins Lake. (3 minute walk from the dome or house, and 10-15 minutes from the cabin) where most summer days here are spent swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing ect., down at the water. Please note the Cabin is set on a seasonal CANNABIS garden. All three sites are vacation spots with AC and WIFI, not just simple accommodations, but experiences. The remarkable property is very hilly with pines and oaks. You can follow our driveway to the bottom and access the beginning of The Bear River which has a nice hiking trail alongside it or drive 8 minutes to the nearest boat ramp and 10 minutes to the town of Colfax where you will find gas, groceries, and restaurants. We have a beautiful spot where you will not see any neighbors so it is peaceful and private with gorgeous 360-degree views. It is also very safe! Bask in nature, quiet, and privacy! This magical and private Yurt in the woods are just 2 miles from Nevada City Come experience the Beauty of the Sierra Foothills and the Yuba River in our Yurts tucked into the forest just 2 miles from downtown Nevada City. With a natural creek right outside your door and hiking trails right off the deck, this serene and beautiful yurt retreat awaits you. Nevada City is renowned for its excellent food, shopping, nightlife and farmer’s market. A leisurely walk into town takes 45 mins, bike in 15 or drive in 5. Grass Valley is 10 minutes away as well and has more food, shopping, and entertainment for you. Access to the Yuba River is as close as 20 mins to Edwards Crossing and 20 mins to Hoyts Crossing on Highway 49. We absolutely recommend trying to stay for two or more nights so that you can get accustomed to the space, learn the property, settle in, and relax. Each yurt has a wood-fired stove inside with plenty of wood stacked to keep you warm. Each yurt has a kitchen that is fully equipped with a hot plate, toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator, cutlery, pots and pans, grill, etc. Each yurt has a Queen bed with a heating blanket to help keep you cozy throughout the night. Each yurt has its own dedicated wood-fired hot tub. It requires a fire to be lit and maintained to keep it hot. Things you might like to bring: headlamps, robe, flip flops, slippers, hiking shoes. Water: we are on a well and provide fresh drinking water in a container for you. It’s fine to drink, cook, and bathe with the water from the tap but it can have a minerally quality to it. We test the well annually. We provide filtered water but if it runs out, the water out of the tap is safe and delicious. The hot tub: it’s wood fired. This means you have to heat it with a fire to get it hot. This can take many hours to get to the right temperature. It’s a good idea to start a fire right when you get there! This tub may have leaves in it (they fall from above) and cloudy water. The water should NOT smell, the cloudiness is a part of the cedar tubs charm- ash from the fire and particulate from the cedar mix together. We treat it between guests with natural products that maintain the wood (you can’t use chlorine in these tubs). We clean it regularly. Shower before using it to wash off any oils and sweat in your body please! The outdoor shower is lovely :) Fireplace: We will leave you a bundle of wood that comes with the rental. If you need more wood you can purchase it from us or from the grocery store. We have lots of wood at the yurt and we ask you to pay $10 per bundle if you use more then we leave you inside. This is on the honor system- It takes a lot of time and resources to keep wood stocked for the property. If you don’t know how to start a fire you may want to bring an instant log with you. Please leave the lighter behind for the next guest. Sleep: we have a heating blanket for cold nights, It’s about 10 degrees cooler on our land than in town. This is a real treat during our hot summers. There will be a fan for you as well during the warm season. We live in the woods, there are bugs and wild animals on/or near the property. This is part of the country charm and should be expected. Please don't leave food outside. Land acknowledgment: We acknowledge that our property is located on unceeded land. It is the traditional homeland of the Nisenan tribe. The Nisenan tribe is alive and active and continues to fight for federal recognition and compensation for land loss. This is our top-end accommodation a one bedroom cabin with its own small kitchen, bathroom and living room with a wood stove. A beautiful spot to check out. The sofa folds out into a queen size bed, can easily accommodate up to four people. The cabin has all basic amenities, kitchen, bathroom, etc. We are not pet friendly. "4 of us enjoyed our stay in the cabin. We made a simple, delicious dinner in the kitchen, enjoyed talking around the fire pit, slept, enjoyed a morning walk in the neighborhood, ate breakfast, and then headed out for an afternoon at the river. We chose the cabin, because our little adventure was only 1 night, which seemed too short for setting up a campsite. The cabin met our need perfectly. We had air mattresses and sleeping bags with us; 1 person used the double bed, and the other 3 opted to use air mattresses. I would happily return for another stay!" "This site definitely suited our needs for the weekend we stayed. Josh was very accommodating before we even showed up and was welcoming once we got there. It’s a great little retreat into the woods and convenient as far as being able to access Scott’s Flat Lake nearby. It is also nice and quiet at night so that is definitely a plus."
