We are located about two hours from the Bay Area, just 45 minutes from Sacramento and only 45 minutes east on I-80 will bring you to world class skiing on Donner Summit and lots of other activities in the mountains. Colfax offers many restaurants, shops, stores and nearby Rollins Lake is great for boating, fishing, water skiing or swimming. The American River canyon offers kayaking, white water rafting, mountain biking, hiking and fishing. In the surrounding countryside, one can find many small vineyards & wineries, an occasional brewery or roadside fruit stand. It can be both sunny and cool here since we are located in the foothills, above the fog and at snowline.
The Colfax Amtrak stop is only a 10 minute walk from the house, there's also a Greyhound line that stops in town.

Grass Valley is 10 minutes away as well and has more food, shopping, and entertainment for you.
Access to the Yuba River is as close as 20 mins to Edwards Crossing and 20 mins to Hoyts Crossing on Highway 49.
We absolutely recommend trying to stay for two or more nights so that you can get accustomed to the space, learn the property, settle in, and relax.
Each yurt has a wood-fired stove inside with plenty of wood stacked to keep you warm.
Each yurt has a kitchen that is fully equipped with a hot plate, toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator, cutlery, pots and pans, grill, etc.
Each yurt has a Queen bed with a heating blanket to help keep you cozy throughout the night.
Each yurt has its own dedicated wood-fired hot tub. It requires a fire to be lit and maintained to keep it hot.
Things you might like to bring: headlamps, robe, flip flops, slippers, hiking shoes.
Water: we are on a well and provide fresh drinking water in a container for you. It’s fine to drink, cook, and bathe with the water from the tap but it can have a minerally quality to it. We test the well annually.
We provide filtered water but if it runs out, the water out of the tap is safe and delicious.
The hot tub: it’s wood fired. This means you have to heat it with a fire to get it hot. This can take many hours to get to the right temperature. It’s a good idea to start a fire right when you get there! This tub may have leaves in it (they fall from above) and cloudy water. The water should NOT smell, the cloudiness is a part of the cedar tubs charm- ash from the fire and particulate from the cedar mix together. We treat it between guests with natural products that maintain the wood (you can’t use chlorine in these tubs). We clean it regularly. Shower before using it to wash off any oils please! The outdoor shower is lovely :)
Fireplace: We will leave you a bundle of wood that comes with the rental. If you need more wood you can purchase it from us or from the grocery store. We have lots of wood at the yurt and we ask you to pay $10 per bundle if you use more then we leave you inside. This is on the honor system- It takes a lot of time and resources to keep wood stocked for the property. If you don’t know how to start a fire you may want to bring an instant log with you. Please leave the lighter behind for the next guest.
Sleep: we have a heating blanket for cold nights, It’s about 10 degrees cooler on our land than in town. This is a real treat during our hot summers. There will be a fan for you as well during the warm season.
We live in the woods, there are bugs and wild animals on/or near the property. This is part of the country charm and should be expected. Please don't leave food outside.

We have goats on the property. All are friendly, in a goat kind of way. No, they don't do yoga! We moved here about 12 years ago and have welcomed others on the land since we arrived.
We also have a few dog runs and are building a doggie obstacle course we use for dog training. Keep your eye out as our land develops.

Come play in the Sierra Foothills! We're on 6 acres with moderate privacy. The yurt is a glamping experience. You'll have a full, 100% private, bathroom located in the main house just a short walk from the yurt. There is a limited camp kitchen that includes coffee maker, toaster and hot water boiler, with the opportunity to rent our camp kitchen kit if you do not want to bring your own items for cooking.
We have ponderosa pines, scrub oak and a few valley oak on the property. We also have goats that you are welcome to visit.
You will be close to hiking, biking trails, lakes and only an hour from Lake Tahoe. There is no lack of activities. We are also located right next door to a vineyard that, after a short walk, allows views of the entire Sierra Foothills to the Mountains and down to the valley.

We are on 6+ acres surrounded by pine trees, scrub oak and a few valley oak. You'll be next to a beautiful vineyard and can walk a short way up the hill to "View Forever Lane" and...well...view forever!
We have goats on the property. All are friendly, in a goat kind of way. No, they don't do yoga! We moved here about 12 years ago and have welcomed others on the land since we arrived.
We also have a few dog runs and are building a doggie obstacle course we use for dog training. Keep your eye out as our land develops.

Come play in the Sierra Foothills! We're on 6 acres with moderate privacy. The yurt is a glamping experience. You'll have a full, 100% private, bathroom located in the main house just a short walk from the yurt. There is a limited camp kitchen that includes coffee maker, toaster and hot water boiler, with the opportunity to rent our camp kitchen kit if you do not want to bring your own items for cooking.
We have ponderosa pines, scrub oak and a few valley oak on the property. We also have goats that you are welcome to visit.
You will be close to hiking, biking trails, lakes and only an hour from Lake Tahoe. There is no lack of activities. We are also located right next door to a vineyard that, after a short walk, allows views of the entire Sierra Foothills to the Mountains and down to the valley.

What a magical place! My wife and I booked this LAST SECOND for Valentine's. Anna communicated immediately with me and helped facilitate our VERY last second stay. She made sure we understood what to expect and answered all of my questions nearly immediately. The yurt is on the property in close vicinity to the main house but it appears Anna stays in the tiny house next to it out of site from the yurt area, which provided us with a great sense of privacy and it's obvious she respects that, which we greatly appreciated! We brought our long haired daschund with us and she had the time of her life exploring the area, and never barked, for once! The bed was very comfortable! Bring your own bedding though, it's made up to be slept on top of. She provides extra clean blankets which was nice. The silence of the area mixed with the unbelievable stargazing made for a perfect getaway. We paid for the fire pit option and when the propane had ran out even though she was off property at the time she immediately helped out with our options! Thank you for that!
I would absolutely recommend this place as a very fairly priced and awesome stay. Anna's prompt communication and help was most appreciated!

2 nights at Foothills Yurt Glamping
2nd time at this place and loved it! We’ve now stayed there in the summer and the winter and it was great both trips. This time it poured outside and the interior was still well heated and comfy to be in. We were amazed at how it was still incredibly clean and showed little signs of any wear from the last trip, so the hosts definitely keep it in great shape. Looking forward to coming back for a 3rd trip!

Group trip
Had a great time camping with family in the yurt. During the winter it takes a while to get it warmed up. The yurt isn't insulated so you have to maintain a good fire in the woodstove to keep it warm. Was able to get it to about 70°f . Holiday decorations and treats were provided, such a charming space!
The view is amazing the highlight of the trip was watching the sunset and the mist roll in down the valley and listening to coyotes and cows during the evening.
I wasn't expecting to take a shower since it was so cold outside but the instructions for it were easy enough and the water got plenty hot enough to shower outside in December. The outhouse is clean and pine fresh.
Checkout instructions were easy enough just take trash with you from the yurt turn off the water and lock up.
I would definitely visit again in the spring or fall!

We had a great time at the Angel's Hideaway yurt.
Commiunication with Audrey and Michael was A plus to get all the info we needed prior to our stay.
It was easy to get to and as described.
The property is lovely and felt very secluded.
The yurt itself is rustic but that's what we expected and we were prepared. That said there were plenty of amenities beyond just a roof over one's head.
Gotta love a yurt!
Much more fun/easy in cold and misty weather than tent camping.
The wood stove is amazing, the beds were comfy.
Would def return in the future!

Weekend Trip to River Oaks Camp
Glamping at the yurt at River Oaks Camp was a peaceful getaway on a lovely property with impromptu visits by deer, turkeys, woodpeckers and toads. Wonderful hosts, friendly dogs, and engaging farm animals, and the river would have been terrific on a hot summer day. Apple Hill farms and businesses are a short drive away. Recommended.

It was a wonderful weekend in a yurt. It had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable, there were all the necessary utensils, and there was a gas stove, which we never used. Weekend Trip to River Oaks Camp
magical spot. I will definitely be back. The New flushing toliet was a major glamping perk. Id say bring ear plugs just in case of barking dogs at night as sound carries in a valley (this is typical for a farm/neighbors to have working dogs staying alert for wildlife etc). Hosts were so dang sweet and the River was beyond perfect for a full day of swimming and relaxation. The steep hike back up to the yurt from the river was quick but could be a challenge for those with mobility issues etc. so pack light to the river. Don't miss this well cared for Oasis!

The short walk to the yurt felt like wandering into an enchanted forest, where the air is fresh and the world slows down. Inside, dimmable lights set a warm and welcoming glow, the kitchen held everything we needed, and a basket under the coffee table offered books and a coloring book (bring colored pencils) for quiet moments. We loved reading the heartfelt notes from previous guests and gathering fresh eggs for breakfast, a simple joy that made our mornings feel special. The cedar tub was pure relaxation, and the nearby rivers invited us to bask in the sun and cool our feet in the water. Every detail here feels thoughtfully placed, creating a space that restores and inspires. Our stay was far too short, and we are already looking forward to returning.

It's my 2nd time coming and it was great! There was some small issues like the bathroom light not working and some skunks at night wanting to hang out, but nothing to spoil a great time.
I will say bring extra toilet paper if it's more than 4 people. 2 rolls go by quickly! As well there are some meat wasps that were there both times, they look scarier than they are. They didn't sting us, but rather wanted out food.
I loved the manual thatwba left behind that explained everything.

2 nights at Foothills Yurt Glamping
This property was beautiful and private! My first time using a Air BnB and it didn't disappoint. Single mom with two kids, one semi adult 😁and it was perfect for us. The yurt is beautiful and decorated so perfect. Incredibly cozy and the deck was a perfect place to drink my coffee in the morning. We had wild rabbits and baby foxes playing under us. The pool was our favorite spot as we swam for hours, relaxing and soaking up the sun. There were a lot of things not working and/or missing. The hammock, the music on hot tub, the sauna and no working light in shower all broken. The swim up pool bar area is nothing but a table with cobwebs. Those were disappointing. Lots of yellow jackets, my daughter got stung. Wasn't expecting that many especially since all cooking had to be done outside but I worked through it. The train rolling through town can be noisy for some but I found it soothing. Overall the property is just incredible and it is up for sale which could explain why so many things weren't working. If you want a private escape in nature but still glamorous, this is highly recommended. We all miss it! Thankful for the owner sharing this amazing place.

Weekend Trip to Private Yurts - Nevada City
This site is so scenic when you first enter the yurt. Even though it isn’t far from the city, it definitely feels like an escape. The accommodation was full of trinkets and tools that we forgot or didn’t think to pack. I also love that the host seemed very earth conscious with every item. We spent one of the days walking the canal trail just a 4 minute drive away! Definitely recommend
