We absolutely recommend trying to stay for two or more nights so that you can get accustomed to the space, learn the property, settle in, and relax. Each yurt has a wood-fired stove inside with plenty of wood stacked to keep you warm. Each yurt has a kitchen that is fully equipped with a hot plate, toaster oven, microwave, refrigerator, cutlery, pots and pans, grill, etc. Each yurt has a Queen bed with a heating blanket to help keep you cozy throughout the night. Each yurt has its own dedicated wood-fired hot tub. It requires a fire to be lit and maintained to keep it hot. Things you might like to bring: headlamps, robe, flip flops, slippers, hiking shoes. Water: we are on a well and provide fresh drinking water in a container for you. It’s fine to drink, cook, and bathe with the water from the tap but it can have a minerally quality to it. We test the well annually. We provide filtered water but if it runs out, the water out of the tap is safe and delicious. The hot tub: it’s wood fired. This means you have to heat it with a fire to get it hot. This can take many hours to get to the right temperature. It’s a good idea to start a fire right when you get there! This tub may have leaves in it (they fall from above) and cloudy water. The water should NOT smell, the cloudiness is a part of the cedar tubs charm- ash from the fire and particulate from the cedar mix together. We treat it between guests with natural products that maintain the wood (you can’t use chlorine in these tubs). We clean it regularly. Shower before using it to wash off any oils please! The outdoor shower is lovely :) Fireplace: We will leave you a bundle of wood that comes with the rental. If you need more wood you can purchase it from us or from the grocery store. We have lots of wood at the yurt and we ask you to pay $10 per bundle if you use more then we leave you inside. This is on the honor system- It takes a lot of time and resources to keep wood stocked for the property. If you don’t know how to start a fire you may want to bring an instant log with you. We also have a beautiful sunset hike that overlooks some beautiful views. Oracle Oak Grove has a wide variety of camping options. We have a camp grounds on the lower end of the property that currently hosts 4 different camp sites. the 3 May Pole zone, and 1 Faerie fields. There is one shared Bonfire zone that can be used for friends camping together during the spring and late fall months when we are not in fire season. We love hosting groups and birthday parties. Also individual campers as well. We have two yurts available if you are more into the Glamping experience or especially if camping in the winter. The Witches Hut and The Little Witch Hut! The Witches Hut which is larger and can fit a family of 3 or 4. This hut includes a patio, grill, and Private entrance. The Little Witch Hut is smaller and more suitable for a couple or a single person wanting some solo retreat time. This one has cooking amenities accessible in an outdoor kitchen just outside the yurt. This one also gets better access to the Starlink available on the property. This yurt has the compost toilet outside and is a less than minute walk to it. Both yurts have the ability to park fairly close to them and both are fully furnished. The Yurts are available for a higher expense than the camping of course. We are sorry to say that Hot tub season is now closed. We do have a wood-fired Cedar Hot tub, she is our Cauldron she is only available during winter and very early spring visits. I am sorry, but due to fire season and her being wood-fired she is not available outside hot tub season. I cannot predict what the lake condition will be in. Camp Watanda is a retired resident camp that we have converted to a vacation rental. We have 10 acres of wooded property, with the 4 camping kiosks close to the waterfront and 1 RV site on the waterfront and 1 tent site. The camping kiosk all have 8-10 mattresses, grilling table, picnic table, cooler, smoke alarms, rake, broom and fire extinguishers. We are pet friendly with 1 dog per kiosk. Tents can be pitched on the elevated decks. Our waterfront has a large fire ring, 2-covered pergolas, canoes, kayaks, life jackets and charcoal grill. Lots of fish in the lake, since this is a private lake, no license is required. There is also a bathhouse (very primitive and in serious need of remodel) close by with 3 showers, 3 toilets and 3 sinks. Up by the lodge is a cell phone charging station and Wi-Fi with Starlink connection. No dispersed camping. RV CAMPING: Because of the steep driveway and blind curve, we limit the vehicle length to 25 overall length. Our driveway is more suitable for RV's and Camper Vans and not Travel Trailers being towed. If you rent a kiosk, all campers must be on the same kiosk unless you rent a second kiosk. If you have a camping van and plan on using the van and the kiosk, then that is a second site. You cannot tailgate on a reservation just because the party only has 2 people on the kiosk, and you have 2 in the Van to make 4 people. These are tents sites on a Kiosk, there is parking for cars or trucks at the kiosk, not suitable for RV or Travel Trailers. Those vehicles will have to park at the waterfront parking lot. There are no refunds for cancellations within 72 hours of arrival. We reserve the right to adjust kiosk assignments at our discretion. NO SHOWS forfeit their site. Camp Watanda is private property, campers assume all liability for being on site. There is no lifeguard present. This is a natural habitat for woodland animals, there is an associated risk for camping in their home. Slips, trips and falls can occur on trails, camping structures and waterfront.

It is quiet and beautiful. Usually cooler because it is right on the water. The dock goes out to the 4 acre pond which is stocked with Bass. You will need to keep food inside of the Cabin/Sauna because we share the space with the animals that live here. The pond is shared with one other neighbor, so you may see other people playing on the pond or hear nearby activity through the trees. It's a great place to hang your hammock and bring a good book or birdwatch. Frolic has been an adventure for me in Saying Yes to life and the rewarding challenges it brings. I fell in love with the huge grama oaks, the pristine pond and the feral overgrown everything. It has been a workin' progress and lots of time to sweat, craft, pause and listen. The property is shaped like a pint glass, running north to south, with a lovely bowl the pond sits in and an ancient meadow up behind the cabin full of apples 🍎 & pears 🍐. Up the hill, a hotter zone, more exposed with its own beauty, where we live. On the occasion, one of us may come down to the pond for a swim, especially when it's too hot up top. We will be respectful but likely just need to cool down. Frolic has been a great teacher in reminding me to PLAY, relax and go with the flow. I hope you can find the same joy and rejuvenation here.

You will need to keep food inside of the Cabin/Sauna because we share the space with the animals that live here. The pond is shared with one other neighbor, so you may see other people playing on the pond or hear nearby activity through the trees. It's a great place to hang your hammock and bring a good book or birdwatch. Frolic has been an adventure for me in Saying Yes to life and the rewarding challenges it brings. I fell in love with the huge grama oaks, the pristine pond and the feral overgrown everything. It has been a workin' progress and lots of time to sweat, craft, pause and listen. The property is shaped like a pint glass, running north to south, with a lovely bowl the pond sits in and an ancient meadow up behind the cabin full of apples 🍎 & pears 🍐. Up the hill, a hotter zone, more exposed with its own beauty, where we live. On the occasion, one of us may come down to the pond for a swim, especially when it's too hot up top. Very private and peaceful. Renee is a fabulous host she even provided my dog with baked treat and made us feel very welcomed. There's a nice ladybug trail just out back that is worth exploring! David's yurt is beautiful and has absolutely everything you need for a very comfortable glamping experience! The land is picturesque and David is a very attentive and kind host. I traveled with a friend and the yurt was plenty big for both of us - even with a couple of very rainy days we felt like we had plenty of space, and my friend was happy to report that the blow up mattress was very comfortable. I will definitely be back!

Our hosts, Chris and Rebecca, were warm, welcoming, and attentive. Saturday morning, our car key’s remote battery unexpectedly died. Instead of having to call an Uber or drive into town for a replacement, they cheerfully produced a spare battery—turning what could have been a stressful moment into a reminder of their thoughtful hospitality. 2 nights at Hilltop Acres Tipi Glamp Camp

Nice and quiet spot with everything you might need provided. The neighbors dog Abby greeted us every day and she was a sweetheart. The teepee was decked out in a comfy World Market boho vibe and even had a mini fridge. Oh and the sheets were the softest. Nice bathroom not far from the sight. If you are cooking at night by the bathroom, it's a bit dark. Just turn on the bathroom light and pull back the curtain, that will help. The teepee did have a smokey smell due to the fires inside, but I am sensitive to that kind of thing. Overall loved the place and would camp here again.
