Established in 2012.Camp Noyo was first developed as a logging camp for the Union Lumber Company in 1907. Originally called "Camp Four," it was the fourth camp established by the lumber company as they progressed east from Fort Bragg along the current route of the California Western Railroad. In 1933, the Union Lumber Company donated the property to the Boy Scouts of America. The Boy Scouts began using the site in the summer 1934 and continue to use the property for several weeks every summer.In 2012, Allan Hemphill, his son Brian, and a small group of family friends purchased the property from the Boy Scouts. The Hemphill family has been care taking Camp Noyo for over 60 years. We decieded to open the property to the public in 2015 for camping in the summer.

The coastal bike and hike trails are many. From South of Ft Bragg to the Sand Dunes near Ward Ave. you can travel over 7 miles one way and go down to quiet little beach coves along the way.
Meadow Farm is a nonprofit 501c3 with goals of coastal food security, disaster preparation and sheltering, carbon sequestering and forest restoration. We offer native plant tours on or off site with advance notice.
We like our dog companions! Two McNab collies, Moxie and Shama live here and may bark at first...still very friendly and social with people and other dogs.. There are several dog friendly off-leash areas such as, Noyo North Harbor Beach, Seaside Beach and dog parks in both Ft Bragg and Mendocino. Our farm is dog friendly tho we wish pets to be kept close, must be neutered and friendly to other dogs and people. Please be sure to bury or bag the waste.
Speaking of waste, Meadow Farm strives to reduce waste by avoiding plastic as much as possible, recycling what we can and composting our veggie scraps.
Please bring your own waste receptacles and take them along when you go. We take ours to the Caspar Transfer Station which is open Saturday through Wednesday... the location and hours can be found online.
Our water is from a deep well and we periodically test it for bacteria. It is cold and delicious. Our irrigation pipes that have spigots and hoses at each camp are safe for drinking, cooking and cleaning
Our solar pump moves water into storage tanks that provide all the water to the farm. It is very important that the water valves on your camp spigot is turned off (gently please) to avoid losing 2500 gallons of water in a short time.
If you see a leak or break in a line please contact us immediately. There are also water shut offs for the camps on the west side of the Farm House if you are unable to reach us right away..
When doing dishes we request that you use the strainer to catch food particles from the dish water and toss them in your trash or compost bucket. If you have vegetable waste let us know and we can pick them up for adding to the worm bins or composting piles. We make worm "tea" fertilizer and rich soil from these offerings. No animal products or oil please... a few egg shells are okay.
We do have the usual wildlife though we haven't had problems with them. Ravens will raid your camp if food or bags are left out while you are away.
From dusk to dawn keep children and pets close. We coexist well here with the critters...and glad to have them.

Have it all and relax at our forest glen located in Southern Humboldt 5 miles up private dirt road (2 wheel drive OK- but sports car height is not good ( IE not a BMW or Tesla)--higher clearance is best.) Our land is part of an old collectively owned by "back to the landers" group from the 70's. The parcel is over 500 acres, but our portion is about 40 acres. There is a large deepwater pond with a rowboat (and frogs) orchard, stream, and many hiking trails my husband created and dirt roads winding through the property.

Enjoy the birds in the morning and frogs on the pond at night from your well equipped tent with queen mattress and comfy comforters, sitting space, and wood counter for food prep. ( propane ok) No fires allowed at site but enjoy the large communal fire pit and terrace steps away.
Our deep water pond (15 ft) is FULL and ready for warm summer swims.
Wifi and electric for charging and an electric water kettle for coffee making is available at the communal space. EV charging is possible but slow off of our solar panels.
Hiking trails on our 500 acre property and Lost Coast Trail at Shelter Cove Black Sands beach is 1 hour away. Ave of the Giants is 45 minutes away. We encourage 2 night stays as it is a bit of a trek to get here. Your hosts have everything you might need ( cooking wise) and can arrange for cooking equipment and utensils. Need Paella pans? Paella is our passion and we can offer a Paella Cookout customized to your dietary needs for an additional fee.
We are 5 miles up a private dirt road ( 2 wheel drive is ok but caution to lower clearance vehicles)
You will be deep in the relaxing forest. The 16 foot bell tent is quite large and can accommodate 2 more travelers. However they would need to provide sleeping bags and mats. Children under 10 not recommended
The Chimes tent is slightly smaller 13 foot bell tent set on a platform 6 feet off the ground-- literally in the trees!

Otters’ Den awaits those wanting an intimate experience with nature. Secluded in the alder woods on the bank of the river, this little hand-built rustic cabin is surrounded by a natural wonderland. Sitting beside the river or kayaking on it, you can watch families of otters, ducks, and geese. Egrets often roost in the trees across the river. Seals also frequent this tidal stretch of the river and foxes make their dens in these woods. Otters Den is a real escape--it is off the grid and out of cell phone range (cell service is available 1 mile away).
Along with beautiful views of the trees and river from large south windows, the studio cabin has a queen bed, a glass front propane heater, a cozy kitchen with a full-sized propane fridge, a propane cooktop, and a large sink. Propane and LED lights illuminate the interior. Outside is an enclosed hot shower, a redwood privy, a Weber BBQ, an outdoor table, and chairs around the large fire pit. Originally called "Camp Four," it was the fourth camp established by the lumber company as they progressed east from Fort Bragg along the current route of the California Western Railroad. In 1933, the Union Lumber Company donated the property to the Boy Scouts of America. The coastal bike and hike trails are many. From South of Ft Bragg to the Sand Dunes near Ward Ave. you can travel over 7 miles one way and go down to quiet little beach coves along the way.
Meadow Farm is a nonprofit 501c3 with goals of coastal food security, disaster preparation and sheltering, carbon sequestering and forest restoration. We offer native plant tours on or off site with advance notice.
We like our dog companions! Two McNab collies, Moxie and Shama live here and may bark at first...still very friendly and social with people and other dogs.. There are several dog friendly off-leash areas such as, Noyo North Harbor Beach, Seaside Beach and dog parks in both Ft Bragg and Mendocino. Our farm is dog friendly tho we wish pets to be kept close, must be neutered and friendly to other dogs and people. Please be sure to bury or bag the waste.
Speaking of waste, Meadow Farm strives to reduce waste by avoiding plastic as much as possible, recycling what we can and composting our veggie scraps.
Please bring your own waste receptacles and take them along when you go. We take ours to the Caspar Transfer Station which is open Saturday through Wednesday... the location and hours can be found online.
Our water is from a deep well and we periodically test it for bacteria. It is cold and delicious. Our irrigation pipes that have spigots and hoses at each camp are safe for drinking, cooking and cleaning
Our solar pump moves water into storage tanks that provide all the water to the farm. It is very important that the water valves on your camp spigot is turned off (gently please) to avoid losing 2500 gallons of water in a short time.
If you see a leak or break in a line please contact us immediately. There are also water shut offs for the camps on the west side of the Farm House if you are unable to reach us right away..
When doing dishes we request that you use the strainer to catch food particles from the dish water and toss them in your trash or compost bucket. If you have vegetable waste let us know and we can pick them up for adding to the worm bins or composting piles. We make worm "tea" fertilizer and rich soil from these offerings. No animal products or oil please... a few egg shells are okay.
We do have the usual wildlife though we haven't had problems with them. Ravens will raid your camp if food or bags are left out while you are away.
From dusk to dawn keep children and pets close. We coexist well here with the critters...and glad to have them.

Otters’ Den awaits those wanting an intimate experience with nature. Secluded in the alder woods on the bank of the river, this little hand-built rustic cabin is surrounded by a natural wonderland. Sitting beside the river or kayaking on it, you can watch families of otters, ducks, and geese. Egrets often roost in the trees across the river. Seals also frequent this tidal stretch of the river and foxes make their dens in these woods. Otters Den is a real escape--it is off the grid and out of cell phone range (cell service is available 1 mile away).
Along with beautiful views of the trees and river from large south windows, the studio cabin has a queen bed, a glass front propane heater, a cozy kitchen with a full-sized propane fridge, a propane cooktop, and a large sink. Propane and LED lights illuminate the interior. Outside is an enclosed hot shower, a redwood privy, a Weber BBQ, an outdoor table, and chairs around the large fire pit. Wood for the fire pit is available at most stores and from vendors along the highway. Bring your own charcoal for the BBQ

We celebrated our first anniversary and Valentine’s Day at Golden Bowl 🏕️ ❤️, and it was fantastic. Kristina was very helpful and kind. Despite the rain during the weekend we stayed, it made our experience even more romantic. The location is very private, the tent is cozy and comfortable, and the view from the outdoor kitchen is stunning. Spent wonderful V-Day with my fiance at the farm! Wood-burning barrel under the stars in the forest is out of this world. There is a well made fire pit next to the yurt which makes cooking on fire pretty easy and fun. The farm itself is fascinating: fruit tres, bees, live stock, flowers and dogs. Highly recommended 💗

The Cozy Cabin is tiny and adorable - one of those rare properties that is actually exactly as described in its listing. We brought our dog and had a lovely stay. The bed is very comfortable, the cabin is well insulated, well spaced from other dwellings and campsites, the land around it is beautiful, and there are lots of stars to see on a clear night.
Only noteworthy flaw was upon arrival: it was pretty tough to find our way in the dark. Arrive in the daylight if possible until they add clearer night-reflective signage and/or a detailed campsite map!

if you’re going in the fall or winter, do NOT skip out on the heater add on. i figured since it was an insulated yurt we would be fine, but we were extremely cold when going to bed!
luckily, the water was nice and hot all night in the tub, which was incredible. hope to come back here one day.

Beautiful place. The room was nice. The bed was comfy. The bathrooms were well maintained. The place had an awesome view of the night sky. Defiantly will be planning a future stay there. Mendocino is like 10 minutes away and fort brag is about 20. There’s not even a real need to bring food so long as u wanna go buy food everyday.

The golden bowl was perfect for my partner and I. Due to daylight savings time, we never met the host, but they were super accommodating and lovely to message with. Kind size bed was comfy. Blankets were super warm, so no heater was needed (there is not electricity). This spot is closer to camping with luxuring than glamping with all the extras. We didn't use the outdoor kitchen area but imagine it is super useful. My rav4 had no problem getting down the hill to our tent. This tent seems much more secluded than the other two on this property, so that's good to know for other potential people staying! We so sorry appreciate an affordable place to sleep, as everyone does not have $$$ that is trying to travel. Location was great to get to willits, the coast, and we stopped at orr hot springs on our way there - all within a reasonable distance for folks like us who are used to driving to get anywhere! I didn't bring my dog but always appreciate pet friendly spots :) I would come back!

Gorgeous location!! The cabin was perfect, cute, clean, and comfortable. It was a little stormy out but heated blankets on the bed made it a great place to stay cozy while listening to the rain patter onto the roof.
