Our 42 acres is located at the beginning of the award winning Adelaide Wine trail in Paso Robles. Our ranch was once home to a horse boarding and breeding ranch which bred Paso Fino horses, known for their beautiful gait. Having been a horse ranch, it left us with some nice trails that you can enjoy during your stay. We have some nice uphill walks to view your local surroundings while sitting to enjoy a glass of wine or you morning cup of coffee/tea. We are on a well out here so at times you may get a sulphur/mineral smell to the water. Please bring your own drinking/cooking water. It is safe to shower, my hair feels so much thicker! On the ranch you will see that we have 2 donkeys, Desi (black) and Lucy (light grey). Along with our donkeys we have to friendly goats, Fiona (brown) and Sadie (white), they love carrots. but please stick to one carrot a day each, we don't want to over feed them. We also have chickens which means have farm fresh eggs. $5 for 1/2 dozen. Up on the hill you will see Connie a cow and her buddy Samuel, the bull. they love carrots but please do not go into their pasture. She'll think you're bringing food and gets very dangerously excited. Please feel free to walk the property and become one with nature while observing the local indigenous floral and fauna.

Really nice and quirky small hut that was comfortable for a couple. Outdoor space was surrounded by trees and was very peaceful. Short drive to Gualala or Point Arena for food. No cooking facilities on site so bring a stove if that's your plan.

Lynda was very friendly and helpful. The property has amazing themed sites to lounge at and are large enough for a group or family if you rent both sites (cabin and boathouse). The cozy cabin has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Lynda has taken a lot of time to ensure the cabin is well stocked with useful items so you only need to bring clothes, toiletries, and food to have a great stay. We loved using the hot tub/fire pit at night and reading or playing board games on the covered porch during the day. The dimmable lights in the cabin and on the patio were such a nice touch! The cabin and surrounding area felt very private. The nearby of town of Monte Rio is within walking distance (or a quick drive) and has multiple restaurants (the food from Sarah’s Kitchen in the Highland Dell was very good). This is also a great location as there’s so much to do nearby. You’re close to the coast and multiple small towns to explore. I highly recommend staying here and cannot wait to come back!

The instructions to the cabin were clear and it was easy finding Gena's place. The stove worked extremely well and we got toasty very quickly. The decors give the cabin an old charm. We enjoyed our stay and our dog loved roaming the ground. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to explore South of Mendocino and Salt Point State park (30 min drive).

Lynda and Rich were friendly, funny, and welcoming. Simple check in with recommendations in the neighborhood. The photos don’t do the property justice - it is beautiful, silly, and unique. Each spot has its own privacy, and it feels like you are in your own little grove. You’re also right next to a wonderful breakfast/lunch spot, and just a few minutes from the Russian River and Guerneville. I highly recommend the Wackalulu Cozy Cabin to anyone reading this! Nestled in a beautifully wooded enclave next to a creek, Lynda and Rich have created a yabba dabba doo whimsical cabin in the woods. We stayed in the main cabin and enjoyed all the comforts of home in a cozy cabin with all of the amenities one would need; a fully operational kitchen with coffee, dishes, a microwave, and a good sized fridge/freezer with lots of counter space, I have to mention the extremely comfortable bed and bedding, with optional warming on each individual side of the bed in case of cool nights. Fans and screens perfectly placed to keep the cabin cool on a warmer day. The cabin is located between Sebastopol and Jenner in Monte Rio and everything is 15 mins away… though the minute you sit and put your feet up you feel transported hundreds of miles away from civilization and relaxation greets you immediately. We recommend this site if you are looking for immersion into nature with the comforts of a rustic, cozy cabin in the woods!

This property is beyond special. From the moment we entered the gate, we were hooked. We stayed in the Cozy Cabin, which was absolutely amazing. The thoughtfulness on how they put the place together was incredible. Lynda Lu has a gift for making the space eclectic and fun, while throwing in a few classy touches that anyone would love. The hot tub was perfect to warm up in the morning, and relaxing before bed. The grounds lit up and night making the whole property look like a wonderland. Rich and Lynda were gracious hosts, even offered up apples and blackberries from the property! What really struck me was how clean even the deck area and outdoor seating areas were. Not a spider web in site! We can’t wait to come back with the family!

Even after reading many of the glowing reviews, we were unprepared for how lovely and comfortable our stay at Wackalulu's Wonderland would be. Lynda Lu and Rich have truly created a haven in the woods of Monte Rio. The Cozy Cabin was richly appointed with every amenity we could have wanted to feel perfectly at home. There are so many places to sit and lounge and enjoy the surrounding nature. Even though you're a short walk or drive from Bartlett's Market and Lightwave Coffee, it feels private and tucked-away. And our hosts could not have been more fun or gracious (and when one of us left behind our wallet, Lynda Lu shipped it to us the next day!). This will be our go to when we come back to the Russian River, which we now can't wait to do!

There is even a puppy bath station behind it for your furry friends!The Wack Shack is our outdoor bar and grill, full of fun, colorful lights and signs. There’s plenty of equipment to cook there: appliances, a BBQ, sink, fridge and walk-up bar.We also have several apple trees, a pear tree, and tons of blackberries when in season to share with our guest. Our Veggie Garden will be available next season to enjoy also. We are constantly improving our property so please stay in the finished designated guest areas only until we open up the coming attractions.There are plenty of sites and destinations within minutes from our home too! We have Tennis, Pickle Ball, and Basketball Courts around the corner. The Russian River/ Monte Rio public beach is a short walk past the Parks and Recreation Center, and they rent Kayaks and Canoes during the summer months. The Redwood Alliance camp is just a few miles up Bohemian Hwy if you dare to zip line through the redwood canopy forest or Armstrong woods in Guerneville for those that would rather keep their feet on the ground and take a hike to enjoy the majestic beauties. Duncan's Mill is a quaint town (less than 3 miles from us) on your way to Jenner by the Sea which is just about 9 miles to the west of us. You can take a gorgeous coastal drive to Bodega that is only 15 miles away. Historic Fort Ross is another beautiful 20 mile coastal drive. Bike Enthusiast love the back roads out here and the Biggest Attraction Is… Wait for it…. Wineries are everywhere! During the summer there are several Music Venues close by too. The Rio Nido Roadhouse has outdoor music on the weekends. Rockin the River is every other Thursday in Guerneville. The Monte Rio Variety Show just celebrated it 111th year to a sold-out crowd. Zac Brown, Steve Miller, Jimmy Buffet, James Taylor are just a few Headliners that have been here in the past.We have a great Lightwave coffee shop across the creek that is a quick 5 minute walk. Excellent Group Site! We only host one group at a time so you can be with your family and friends in a large, flat and private space. We listed the site for up to 12 campers but feel free to reach out if your group is bigger. Please check out the newest addition of our cabin bunkhouse. Take a look at the pictures - you can add it to your stay as an extra when you book! The land was originally purchased in the 1980's. Since then, it has been used by four generations of the family as a place to gather, relax, camp and even celebrate. I had my wedding on the property in 2010. For a few years we held an annual music festival with the very inventive name of Samapalooza. Up to 400 people would attend the day filled with live music, food and drinks. You will still find the stage and bar we built as an outdoor kitchen and dining area. Around 2008, my father and I planted our first olive trees. Many have been planted since which has gifted the land the timeless sense of purpose it deserves. My father dedicated his last years to tending the young trees and now I have taken the mantle to carry the farm forward. 'The Property', as it is known amongst family and friends has always been a place to camp. I have sat around the same fire ring for decades, rain or shine. I hope that fellow hipcampers can find the joy that my family and I have experienced here. This is a very private camp on a small olive farm. Geographically close to highways and the town of Novato, Sonoma and Napa wine country, this camp feels remote and secluded. Only one camp on the property to keep it private and special. You basically have your run of the land. We have just updated the land and made some nice improvements. Located on ten acres, you will drive past a small olive grove before reaching the spacious and open campground. Just up the hill from the camp is a private pond where you can fish, take out a small boat or just sit and watch the birds. It can be great swimming on hot summer days. This spot has been used by the family for decades and is now open to share with fellow nature lovers. Just a note: While the majority of the time you can expect complete privacy, this is a working olive farm. From time to time you may run into me (Sam) or someone else associated with the land. We will always do our best to respect your space.

North Coast

The counties of Humboldt, Mendocino, and Sonoma encompass the northern reaches of California’s coastline. Here is where you’ll find rugged bluffs descending to pristine coves, ancient groves of coastal redwoods, historic lighthouses, and cozy towns. The Lost Coast, Sue-meg State Park (formerly Patrick’s Point), and Trinidad State Beach all lie north of Eureka’s Old Town. It’s possible to spot migrating whales and harbor seals at MacKerricher State Park or the nearby Mendocino Headlands. Sonoma Coast State Park begins at Bodega Head with 17 miles of beaches to explore.

San Francisco Bay Area
