Excellent space easy to reach, with a beautiful view and nice animals, barbeque area, and games to play in company. There is only one bathroom (with shower) where the roof is open, keep it in mind in case of cold days. Great experience!

This cozy cabin was fantastic in so many ways and I especially loved being surrounded by incredible trees and having a deck all to myself! It truly is across the street from Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, which is glorious. The host was super kind and welcoming and provided excellent recommendations. I hope to go back soon!

Weekend Trip to Strawberry Fields Forever

Robin’s description of the location, amenities and proximity to the beach were very accurate - including daytime and evening road noise which decreases at night. It was chilly and windy the evening we were there, so we chose not to use the campfire. It was a great stopover for our purposes. Loved the farm fresh eggs and homemade cookies she offered as an add on! Robin and Ray were very friendly and hospitable, easy to communicate with through the app.

I loved my night in the camper. It’s rustic, but charming and the bed is comfy. I was treated to rain on the aluminum roof, frogs croaking, and plenty of bird song, along with views of the misty Redwoods. I wasn’t really able to utilize the outdoor table and fire pit because of rain, but that was fine for my brief visit. I basically just needed an affordable place to crash overnight, and I got that plus some much needed tranquility and nature therapy.

Really nice spot in the redwoods, loved camping there. Two things I think would be pretty easy to do and make it nicer are add signage with campsite numbers and also a flip sign by the toilet would be great so you could leave it open and enjoy the view while you poo! The campsite was spacious, very clean, and surrounded by beautiful, towering redwood trees. It felt calm, peaceful, and private—nicely separated from neighboring sites, which made it feel even more relaxing. The site itself was simple but absolutely gorgeous, with nature doing most of the talking. Nothing over the top, just pure, beautiful surroundings that made for a perfect getaway. A few helpful notes for future campers: There are two large trash bins available on-site, which made it easy to manage our waste. The restroom was clean and functional, but you might want to bring a small stool to put under your feet for a little more comfort and ease when using it. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, private camping spot among the redwoods.

The site was epic and really well maintained. It felt secluded, but not dangerously remote for my girlfriend's first time camping. The directions were fairly clear and the spot was easy enough to find. Doug and Denise were super friendly and accomodating. My only critique is the site could use a better bathroom option. We ended up bringing our own fold up tent toilet setup purchased from Amazon. 9/10 We'd love to come back and try out the Creek site.

1 night at San Juan Bautista Dog Friendly

Nancy was very communicative through the whole process. Her property is so relaxing and peaceful. We have a 30 ft class A and parked at the 50 amp site. We didnt have to do a lot of leveling. Since we were the only campers there, she allowed our dogs to run freely. Her land is entirely fenced. The pups loved it as much as we did. Bring some carrots to feed Hannah and Daisy (horse and donkey). They are very sweet. If you dont have any carrots, Nancy has treats on the table by the fence where instructions are posted on how to feed them. We will definitely visit again.

We appreciate Robin greeting us when we arrived. She explained the set up and handed us the warm (and tasty) quiche we ordered! We had a lovely view and took a walk to the beach. It was so close. Also, we received some good suggestions on where to hike and a couple of good restaurant recommendations. Thanks Robin, we had a great time!

Weekend Trip to BANKS RANCH IN THE REDWOODS

This camp site was a lovely gem to find that was perfectly secluded yet not a far drive into town. We drove a 30 ft trailer and some parts were a little narrow getting to the site but made it with no problem. The kids loved the short hike to the creek. We definitely were happy we chose the redwood spot vs the creek given the length of our trailer. Doug was a great host and we were all happy to hear all about their animals. Would love to stay again if we are ever back in Santa Cruz.

There are also wonderful wineries throughout the mountains here. The trip to the site will begin with a three mile drive on a private dirt road. Being on the very top of a mountain brings more seasonality than the surrounding cities. Please be prepared for any kind of extreme weather. Summer: Shade is highly recommended it can get into triple digits. *Spring/fall: Temperatures are generally mild but high winds are possible. *Winter: Typically cold and windy. *During rainy/muddy conditions 4x4/AWD is highly recommended. It is possible for it to get windy, foggy, rainy, hot and sunny, and even sometimes snowy. Please note: the nearest grocer is 30 minutes from this site. Emergency supplies are available for delivery to your campsite. Cell phone reception is good on most carriers. Pets are allowed. Strawberry Fields Forever

Welcome to southern Santa Cruz County, home of some of the longest and most beautiful beaches in central California. We are located in La Selva Beach, an eight-minute walk to Manresa State Beach. We are a small, working farm with vegetable and flower gardens, chickens and bees. There are many excellent places nearby to hike, walk, surf, swim, tide pool or just sit and enjoy the view. We offer three campsites, two have fantastic, unobstructed views of the three hundred acres of strawberry fields that back up to our property. Our campsites provide water and electric hookups and are only appropriate for self-contained recreational vehicles and trailers. One of the sites has no size constraints on RVs or trailers. We have plenty of room for a second vehicle. We do offer a port-a potty, but not sinks or showers. We do not accommodate on the ground tent camping or in your car camping. The Valley View site is very quiet as it is farthest from the road, and is the most private. The Gateway site is near the road and does not have a view of the strawberry fields, but guests who are just looking for a quick stop over or base camp love it. The Strawberry and Surf site has no size restrictions and it backs up to San Andreas Rd. All site are walking distance to Manresa State Beach. We love to host guests and will provide information about things to do and see in our area. We often loan our State Parks pass so that you can venture out to Point Lobos, Wilder Ranch, Sunset Beach, Natural Bridges and more. Each camp site includes a fire pit and a generous wagon of wood. Two camp chairs and a picnic table are included as well. We also offer farm fresh eggs, baked goods and other treats (see our Extras). We are 15 minutes from the village of Capitola, 30 minutes from downtown Santa Cruz and 45 minutes to Monterey. There is a Dump station 5 minutes down the road at the KOA (for a fee).

It is very dark at night and the view of the stars, moon, and planets is amazing. There is poison oak on the property so please be aware. We are here in Gilroy Ca, on a rural 2 acres just outside of town, further up our road is Coyote Lake to go boating and fishing and Harvey Bear park to go hiking and horse riding. Santa Cruz is a 45 min drive West over hwy 152 and San Jose is 30 min North on 101 and keep going a bit more and you will be in San Francisco. Here at home we raise several different kinds of lives stock. Goats for meat and milk, Sheep for meat and wool and eventually milk, Pigs for meat, Rabbits for meat and hide, Chickens, Ducks and Quail for meat and eggs. We have a garden and small orchard with nearly a dozen fruit trees of different kinds : loquat, a few apples, plums, apricot, peach, fig, persimmons and my favorite the pomegranate! We process everything ourselves using ancestral techniques and love to share and learn with others. Id say the main draw back here is the traffic noise but beyond that, We are quite lucky to have very a green and Id say an oasis of a property, with multiple large palms trees surrounding the pool area and a large weeping willow tree in the main yard/sheep pasture. At the NE corner of the property is a very large oak tree, it is majestic and with the tipi door open to the East the big oak is the first thing you'll see every morning besides the suns rays! The entire Northern property line is rowed with 60ft tall redwood trees and there are a smattering of citrus trees around to boot! The freezer is stocked with in house meat, the BBQ is hot, the pool is cool, come relax after a day on the trails!
