Perfect site with hot shower, porta potty, fire pit, and running water. Itâs secluded enough that no one is in site, but there are neighbors. Would camp again if in the area!

Kelly and her husband were super friendly and nice! The place has neighbors but is secluded enough to feel private. The spiggot and outdoor shower are super convenient. We enjoyed walking around the area and the grizzly's den is only a few minutes walk if you really need some food. We will definitely be back again!

Awesome spot with plenty of space for my small 16â trailer. Super friendly host. Nice dry oak firewood. Outdoor shower was a treat in the morning. I would definitely recommend this spot as a jumping off point to explore the area.

Awesome site. I booked at short notice and mid January was the only person at this well equipped and beautiful camping spot. Firewood was provided as well as a clean porta-loo and drinking water at my pitch. Communication was great and I would definitely recommend Kelly and Camp Schmac to other travelers.

Although we only stayed one night it was such a great experience! The campsite was spacious and was surrounded by gorgeous scenery. There was plenty of firewood, and the port-a-potty was the cleanest I've ever been in, it even has a light! It's very clear the hosts put a lot of time, effort, and love into making this site! We can't wait to come back!!

Beautiful views, nice camp site for a 20 foot class B. The water was sweet and the shower was hot. Kelley and John are building something very nice, I'd like to come back in a bit and see what it gets to be.

We stayed at Kellyâs Land for 3 nights and had a great experience. Would highly recommend!
The camping area was equipped with all the necessary amenities and easy to access. It was a plus that the camping spot allowed dogs, which ours loved their stay. The outside shower had nice warm water, which was great. The porta potty was clean. The area was cozy and had a great view of the brilliant night sky. Canât wait for our next trip out to camp Schmac!

Great spot. Super secluded and away from the city life. The outdoor shower was amazing. I was able to enjoy some time alone outside of the city with some of the amenities. Super clean porta potty and a clean campsite.

Amazing experience! Where to start? Arriving was a breeze, even in the dark following Kellyâs written directions. We tent camped one night a Camp Schmac. Despite the rain, we had a blast walking around the property and through the neighborhood. We ended our night around the cozy dry fire with a generous amount of firewood! Slept fairly well on the ground â Highly recommend to tent campers to have a sleeping pad or cot as the ground is VERY rocky. In the morning, We packed up and headed out BUT not before a piping hot shower!!! Whatt?!?

Camp Schmac is a delight! I loved the ample firewood available - itâs nice to not have to haul your own wood to camp to save space in your vehicle for other equipment. The hot shower - who wouldnât love access to a hot shower outdoor that has a beautiful view of the trees?! (I did feel a stool or small bench would have been nice and helpful in the shower.) There are others near by as it looks like itâs a neighboring community, so you can hear people chatter but from the campsite itself it feels completely private - which is what I was looking for. I loved the potable water near by with a hose, it made it really easy to put out any fires I had made. Overall a really wonderful stay with my dog - definitely a spot Iâd like to come back to or even recommend to others!

I spent 2 night at Camp Schmac and it was amazing! All the things youâd want/need for some R&R in nature, without being too far from civilization. The outdoor shower is a hit, and the stars at night are glorious. Paid for some extra wood for the fire pit and was given a generous amount! Looking forward to returning in the summertime!

The site was great! Access to shower, toilet and a spigot definitely made this trip comfortable. The area has lots of wineries and apple Hill farms within close reach.

I don't subscribe to the idea that there are perfect campsites out there. You'll always find something wrong or could've been better wherever you go. That said Kelly and her family really made our stay at their campsite amazing.
They were super accommodating and treated us like friendly neighbors. We needed access to energy so that we could work while we stayed there for a week. They provided us a generator. It rained while we stayed there and they let us use their pop up canopy. Functional hot shower, access to porta-potties, and trash bins. We had to spend some time to clear an area to pitch up the tent since site was rocky. Killed a couple black widows. Chase some frogs out of the shower area lol. Just normal things you'd encounter camping anywhere. However, I can't emphasize enough how much Kelly and her family's treatment of us set their campsite apart from others and as a result elevated it to one of our top camping experiences.
tldr: Camp Schmac is wonderful and I'd totally recommend it to anyone.

This place is beautiful and private. As a solo, female traveler, I felt safeâŚthere were neighbors, but theyâre far enough away to still have privacy. The porta pottie was extremely clean and well maintained, and the outdoor shower is SO nice!!! It was very clean, well designed for privacy and instant hot water. I canât wait to return. đ

There is nothing not to love about this campsite! Kelly had excellent communication and recommended a great place to rock climb nearby. The campsite was easy to find and had everything we needed, hose, lights, bathroom, AND a hot shower! We will definitely be back!

Good little weekend getaway, anywhere from 5-20 minutes away from wineries. It's a great price and you can tell that Kelly are investing in upgrades to make your stay comfortable (i.e. bathroom available and shower soon).

My second time staying here and it wonât be the last. Camp Schmac is a very special place. This 2nd time I did solo camping with my dog and felt completely safe by myself. It was very peaceful and the stars were very bright this weekend. Oh and the site now has a spigot for water đđź

This spot is a little off the beaten path, but worth it. Nice, level spot with shade in the morning and evening, which was great because it was HOT when we stayed there. Porto-potty was clean and well maintained. Water was available if needed. Nice solar lights for night time ambience. Owners have great plans for the property. We will definitely return. BTW, bring lots of insect repellent...mosquitoes were merciless. We stayed three nights. There is plenty to do if you don't mind a short drive.

Kelly, Jon, Dom, and Buck are very friendly. I've been to a lot of sketchy camping spots. This felt like a Air BNB! Super quiet, super clean, and didn't have to worry about bears or racoons. Water hose available, porta potty, and recreation 30 minutes in every direction. This is our camping HQ from now on for the placerville area! Thanks Kelly! Very responsive on directions and rules. Oh! Pet friendly campsite! Mahalos!

Kelly and Jon are the most wonderful, kind and thoughtful hosts. The camp spot is level with gravel surrounded by trees but with a view of the sky so you can see the stars at night. The fire pit is very nice and wouldâve been cool to use if there were no fire restrictions. However, she provided a propane pit which worked out great as well. Kelly also provided a hose for water access and the honey bucket was the cleanest Iâve never used. This was my first time in this area and will definitely be staying at Camp Schmac again as I want to explore Eldorado Forest again and visit the other close by wineries. Another plus is that the road in was not as bad as I thought.

My son and I loved Jeep camping out at Kelly's property! It was exactly the peaceful getaway the Dr ordered. The directions to the campsite were clear and we had no issues finding where to go. We stayed at campsite #1 which was level and shaded until it was time to check out. After setting up camp we cooked some burgers and relaxed. There are mosquitos so don't forget your bug spray! During our stay there was a fire ban in place so we utilized the propane fire pit that was provided. Super awesome that we were still able to roast marshmallows. Our site was next door to the main neighborhood road so there was some traffic in and out of the area although still quiet. Kelly has 3 of the sweetest dogs that love to come say hello. They are super friendly and love to make sure all is well for their visitors. I look forward to the upgrades to the sight; water source and hospitality shed. I would absolutely come back for a night under the stars!

I really enjoyed my overnight stay at Camp Schmac. Kelly and her husband managed to stop by camp and say hello, even though they were busy working on a project downhill aways.
The campsite was quite large and pretty level. Backing my small trailer into place was not difficult and still left plenty of room to move around.
I had an early dinner at the The Grizzly Den. Kelly is right the BBQ was good, especially the brisket and the asparagus.
I know there are other homes nearby but the camp remained very quiet all night.
Overall I had a fine stay at Kelly's campsite and I look forward to a return trip.

Our stay at Kellyâs land was great. It was a great getaway from the fireworks for our pup, and the space was clean, as advertised, and just what we were looking for. Kellyâs communication was great along the way. And we were able to find plenty to do in the surrounding area to keep busy and have fun.

A quiet campsite completely alone that was well equipped. We had 3 tents and 2 cars comfortably on the site. Kelly was a very helpful and friendly host. Very close to Cosumnes River Gorge with great climbing.

Nice spot! Easy in/out for my sprinter. Stayed one night. Peaceful & quiet. Quaint thoughtful setup. Very clean bathroom (*aka honey bucket). Will definitely stay again when in the area. PS: close by to a bunch of wineries (which I didnât get a chance to visit. Next time!).
