Seaside Farm is a 30 acre, magical, park like farm on the shores of Kachemak Bay, just outside of Homer, a few miles down from the Kilcher Homestead where I grew up in the 1940's! . Now a song bird sanctuary, with trails, lawns, gardens, trees, hay fields, and a private beach, cabins, a clover camping meadow, it was also once part of an original Alaska pioneer homestead. Although an organic farm, with hay fields, pastures, farm buildings and raspberry patch, it is also the home of hundreds of songbirds, moose, coyotes, wild hares, flocks of sandhill cranes, two sweet Morgan Horses, and an assortment of chickens. I love sharing my farm and home with travelers, and visitors seeking peace, nature, wildlife, walks on pristine beaches, and connecting with nature, in a real Alaska, original, and non touristy setting. This property has three different types accommodations: Rustic, cozy cabins (no indoor running water), a big field for tent campers only, and a few spaces reserved for 4 wheel drive vans , and similar small vehicle camping, including rooftop tents and occasionally a small pop up trailer. If you prefer camping away from the tourist crowds, you will find our soft clover meadows, surrounded by green trees and well kept lawns, a deluxe and memorable experience. The beach is a short walk down the trail, where its peaceful and private, with no motorized vehicles or noisy crowds, only the sound of the seagulls, and the waves. Van campers have a few special areas to park their vehicles, most with a stunning view of the glaciers and mountains. There is limited parking and turnaround space, and we like our farm peaceful and not too crowded to provide a special rural experience to all who visit this magical farm. It helps to call or text before you arrive to make sure we are on site and can help you with parking and other details! There are three cabins sprinkled throughout the property. Two are off grid, close to the beach, private and magical, with wood stoves. All cabins are able to use the main farm lodge amenities, just a few minutes walk away and have their own outhouses..all with amazing views! You can walk on the beach from the main lodge parking area, there is a covered camping pavilion available to all guests, a communal campfire spot and bbq grill, lovely maintained walking trails and meadows, and even wifi! We allow most types of dogs, but do ask you to contact us before booking with us, so we can let you know our rules before you travel. All dogs must be well behaved, social, on leashes and at owner's side at all times to protect our trusting wildlife from accidental harm, like our baby pheasants, moose, bunnies, and songbird nests! TOURS OPTION As the eldest of the Kilcher clan (yes, the homestead family portrayed on the "Alaska The Last Frontier" tv series), and when time allows, I'm open to give a special tour of the unique and historic Kilcher Family Homestead and original sod roofed, log cabin museum. Available only by special prior arrangement for an extra fee (donation to the museum)

Water provided in cabin. 5 minute hike on trail from parking and main lodge amenities. Private outhouse. (If using the camping pavilion for cooking amenities, and you prefer to forego indoor toilet and shower, or if it is not available, due to large group taking up the lodge, we will charge only $85 per night. ) Dogs are allowed on approval only.

A charming, glamping style, off grid, tiny beach house, with picture windows, tucked away on a secluded knoll in the woods above the beach, accessible by trail about 5 minutes from the parking area, There is a steep trail and stairs leading up to the cabin so may not be suitable for the elderly or those with disabilities. Sleeps only two, double bed. Pets on approval only. The cabin comes with linens. However, If you bring your own sleeping bag, let us know and we can give you a refund of $10. We must do our laundry in town, due to shortage of water. We provide firewood and water in containers. Wood stove, outhouse, fantastic view of the bay and the glaciers and just a stone's throw from the secluded beach. The camping pavilion at the main lodge has electric outlets, a place to cook, a sink, trash bins, and potable water available --also a campfire spot. Sorry, no campfires allowed at the cabin or beach

Has microwave, cook top, coffeemaker, sink,dishes, fridge. Sit on porch and get a view of mountains, glaciers, pastures, farm animals, and surrounding raspberry patch and listen to the birds singing! Short walk to cabin across the yard from parking. Has outhouse, potable water provided in containers, and access to lodge bathrooms and showers. May use the camping pavilion nearby for campfires, bbq's. only a minute walk to beach.

Park your van, sprinter, cab over truck camper, or rooftop tent on a corner of this historic 30 acre Seaside Farm homestead on well maintained field (for 4 wheel drive only) or loose gravel pad, with stunning views of the beach, mountains and glaciers and horses grazing the pastures. Wake up to the singing of birds all around this famous songbird sanctuary, watch the local sand hill cranes, then wander along the nearby 20 mile long wild beach, just a 5 minute walk away, a to see sea otters, eagles and shorebirds. Owner Mossy is a pioneer who was born in Alaska, and loves to share her farm with adventurous travelers from around the world We have private spaces for only a limited number (max 3) smallish (to 22 ft.) motorized camping vehicles on the farm —all types of vans or cab-over camper trucks and roof top tents when the terrain and weather allows. Calling ahead is a must so we can show you where to park. 4 wheel drive recommended, for when parking on a field or loose gravel. There is an outdoor pit toilet campers may use, also a covered pavilion, and a campfire spot, as well as internet.

Pitch your tent in a corner of the historic 30 acre Seaside Farm homestead on clover meadows with views of the beach, mountains and glaciers and our horses grazing the pastures. There is room for about 11 separately booked tents but we can accommodate groups at special group rates. Wake up to the singing of birds all around this famous songbird sanctuary, make breakfast in our covered pavilion, then wander along the 20 mile long wild beach to see sea otters, eagles and shorebirds. Owner Mossy is an Alaska pioneer and loves to share her farm, her raspberry patch and stories of growing up in the remote Alaska wilderness. Also have tents for rent for $15. (call to reserve) We provide the basics--(wif fi and electric plug ins, potable water, picnic tables, charcoal bbq, outhouse, and campfire spot in the covered pavilion) We have wood for a sale at $6 per bundle (when available, but recommend you bring your own from town) You are encouraged to bring your own sanitizers and protective gear, camp stove, and any gear for staying independent and safe as possible while on the lush green Seaside Farm Meadows!

I’m unsure that you’d ever be able to find a piece of property as spectral at and accommodating as Mossy’s seaside place. It’s an absolute time capsule overlooking the bay with the bubbliest, gentlest hostess. You will be completely wooed by the animal (wild and domestic), the fields and the beach front. You will swap stories with other wanderers and delight in what this Earth brings forth.

Our Homer home!

This small cabin was absolute heaven. We had the best time here, and the hosts were incredibly generous and accommodating. Although we had a short stay, the cabin was more than picture us with a perfect view of the beach. We can’t wait to come back again.

Rejuvenated by Nature

This spot was so beautiful. We arrived a little tired and travel-worn, but being surrounded by nature and the sounds of the water got us very rested and relaxed.

Beach farm 💎 gem!

Holy cow, we love this place! Host are excellent, the greens are absolutely beautiful (fireweed taller than my hubby), the view is breathtaking, bathrooms are clean, kitchen and hang out spots awesome, soo kid friendly, chickens and horses are adorable, the beach is delightful! We will stay here every year!

Meadow of serenity

Idyllic campground - the walking path to the beach surrounded by wildflowers is so peaceful. Campground was clean, quiet and comfortable, and we appreciated the outdoor cooking area. Mossy was super responsive to questions. Will recommend this spot to anyone visiting Homer - wish I could’ve stayed here longer!!!

Meadow Camping

We stayed in the Meadow at Seaside Farm for one night before moving into a cabin by the beach. We had the whole field to ourselves and carefully situated our tent for the perfect view of the water and glacier. There was an outdoor pavilion area where we could cook and wash dishes and outlets for charging our phones (though we did our best to remain unplugged). We woke up to the sounds of the songbirds that surround the area.

Loved the Beach Hideaway Cabin!

We stayed at the Beach Hideaway for three nights while we were fishing in Homer and it was the perfect home away from home. The cabin is just a few feet from the beach and was perfect for two people. Despite it being the end of June, it was still a bit chilly in the evenings, but this was easily remedied with the small, but mighty fireplace. It was a little bit of a walk from where we parked but there are lovely views the whole way and wagons for the few trips where we were transporting bags. We will definitely be returning!

We LOVED our stay at the Beach Hideaway on Seaside Farm. The cabin is peaceful, secluded, comfy, and has amazing views and access to the beach. We didn’t need the wood stove but it’s a nice addition if the weather is cold. The communal kitchen was awesome to make our dinner in the evening. This place is a gem!!

Hidden Gem!

This place is so cute and magical! We loved our cabin - beautiful walk down to it (it is a solid 5 minutes from the main house/kitchen/car so make sure you have everything you need when you set out!), absolutely amazing views across the bay, private, easy walk down to the beach, perfect size and porch. Mossy is wonderful, too!

Cozy, quaint cabin on the most beautiful hidden gem in Homer - Seaside Farm! Cabin was comfortable and had the basics we needed. Mossy’s communication was warm and friendly. Def walk down to Mossy’s beach to hang out for low and high tide! Stop to feed the horses too. Truly, Seaside Farm is a magical place to relax and soak it in.

Stunning cabin by the sea!

My experience at the Sea Shell was peaceful & idyllic. The view of the bay and the comfortable interior make for a wonderful, calming get away. I enjoyed the walk to and from the cabin as well as the short jaunt to the ocean for beach combing. The main farm house has all the main amenities you could need that are not present in the dry cabin. Thank you for a beautiful stay!
