Wild camping near Kynance Cove on the Lizard Peninsula, with fresh produce delivered to your tent.

An eco-friendly escape awaits at Wildflower Meadow Camping, where the pitches are spacious and the grass grows wild. Located on the northern end of Cornwall’s Lizard Peninsula, this off-grid, family-friendly site treats guests to fresh organic produce delivered straight to their tent and comfortable facilities, with hot solar showers... and all within five minutes of Kynance Cove beach.

There are just 15 grass pitches for tents and five for motorhomes, each mown into the otherwise wild meadow, ideal for the land’s ecology. A good distance is maintained between pitches to ensure privacy, interspersed with wildflowers such as Cornish heath, wild mint, and wild vetch. Along with your fellow campers, you’ll share the 48 acres with the family-run farm’s rare breeds; Dexter cattle and Golden Guernsey goats (chat with your hosts to get a hands-on experience; particularly popular with kids).

Wildflower Meadow’s eco-consciousness doesn’t mean that it skimps on creature comforts. The solar-powered showers have hot water, and you can receive daily food deliveries of fresh produce from the farm, including organic goat's milk, artisan goat's cheese, prepared lunchboxes, and seasonable vegetables. Campfires outside your tent aren’t allowed given the wild nature of the site, though there’s a communal campfire where you can share stories with fellow campers.

The entirety of the Lizard Peninsula is yours to explore. The most southerly point of mainland Britain, this region has a remoteness that sets it apart from most other UK coastal holiday destinations. The famous white sands of Kynance Cove are nearby – the tidal beach and its awe-inspiring rock formations only a drive away – as is the quaint fishing village of Cadgwith. Between its close proximity to these idyllic coasts and the laid-back nature of Wildflower Meadow Camping itself, there’s plenty to be charmed by here.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Nice meadow but next to busy road
The meadow is nice and staff are friendly and welcoming. The facilities were also good. The only thing I disliked is the meadow is right next to the main road. I was surprised nothing had been mentioned of it in the reviews I read. It’s a busy road so you can hear cars all through the night and when you wake up in the morning all you can hear is the traffic zooming by. It took away the experience a bit for me.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Such a lovely campsite. Peaceful despite being just off the main road. It’s a small place, so you get a sense of community while you are there- getting to know your fellow campers. Sandra and her husband were welcoming and Yasmin was great. All offering great local tips, and produce! Really loved that the kids could roam free in the site without any concerns about cars coming or going.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Perfect little site, loved the area for the tent with wild grasses around you. Facilities great . Greeted by Yasmin who was lovely and nothing would have been to much trouble even offered to help with the tent as it was very windy. Beautiful places to visit too. Will definitely return. X

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Beautiful, natural and peaceful
Beautiful natural campsite with spacious pitches. The site is managed carefully to ensure the lightest footprint on this special area of Cornwall. Friendly and caring host who greeted us and showed us around. Delicious cheese and vegetables for sale plus a small camp shop for essentials. Lovely hot showers and very clean compost loos. A short hop to Kynance and the rest of the Lizard. Will definitely use again when we are in the area. Loved it!

Set in an idyllic wildflower meadow on the iconic Lizard Peninsula, this site offers family friendly grass camping pitches, as an ideal base for exploring the heart of South Cornwall. With plenty of stunning sandy beaches nearby, this is the perfect spot to relax and unwind. A family friendly site set on an organic farm, Wildflower Meadow Camping offers camping and glamping on the doorstep of South Cornwall's stunning beaches, villages, The Lizard Peninsula and beyond. It's located in the peaceful hamlet of Ruan Major, just 2 miles from Polurian beach, Poldhu and Poltesco, and a five minute drive from Kynance cove and the fishing village of Cadgwith. Tucked away in 48 acres of rare habitat and organic farm, the campsite resides in one of the site's wildflower meadows on a secluded edge of the farm that has it's own entrance. Each pitch is separately cut into the meadow for maximum beauty and privacy, and with generous distances between - each framed with beautiful wild flowers such as wild mint, purple loosetrife, and Cornish heath. The campsite has parking available at the entrance to the meadow, as well as compost toilets and hot mains gas showers. A fresh organic produce service is available delivered straight to your tent, or from the produce stand on the campsite. Fresh raw organic goats milk, artisan goats cheese and yoghurt are available to order as well as salad bags, prepared lunchboxes and seasonal vegetables from the farm garden. Produce is delivered daily, simply let the site know what you'd like. The onsite herd of goats are bloodline champions of the Golden Guernsey society, and are accredited as a high health herd. They are trained from a young age to make excellent therapy animals! Curious to know more about the residents? Goat experiences are available to book. Nearby attractions

Kynance Cove is under a 15-minute drive away, its clear turquoise waters and unique landscape making it a must-visit. It's a sight to behold – dramatic rock formations jutting out into the water with a white sandy beach tucked between them. Take the family out for a day at the beach, explore the rock stacks at low tide, and head up to the beach cafe for a Cornish pasty or cream tea. Another popular local destination is the Helston Railway, a 25-minute drive away that lets you enjoy a steam train ride with scenic views of the surrounding countryside. The railway is run by passionate volunteers, and you can even book one of the Cornish Carriages Buffet and Restaurant cars (07368 340612) for a tasty meal on the tracks. You can also take the 10-minute drive to Mullion Cove, a lovely Victorian harbour with a small beach unusually positioned behind the harbour walls and flanked by rugged, grassy cliffs. Dogs are allowed all year round.

Food and drink

It's a five-minute drive to Lizard Village, a small community that boasts two popular pubs. The Top House is a cosy country inn, with a classic pub a la carte menu along with an extensive specials board. You can also pop in for a tea or coffee in its Sutherland's Tearoom, and enjoy a Sunday roast at the end of the week. A little further down the road is The Witchball, the most southerly pub in mainland Britain. Here you can enjoy huge portions of fresh food, with a diverse menu that specialises in fresh seafood, including a 'catch of the day'. The Regent Cafe is also in Lizard, serving delicious breakfast until 11.30 a.m. and a range of dishes, including tapas-style 'grazing plates'. Enjoy a cup of artisan coffee provided by a state-of-the-artist Cornish roastery and a slice of cake before heading out for a coastal adventure.
