The original homestead cabin from 1903 is still here! This became our home when my husband retired because it is his dream. Our Highland cattle have personality plus!! The river wrapping around the ranch at the foot of the mountain washes away the stress and leaves a peace here that fills the spirit with calm. We love the land, the bald eagles, the wildlife, our guests and each other! Learn more about this land: Sleep in your RV with the sound of the river lulling you to recharge and just breath in the peace. We have a great boat ramp with a put-in and a place to kayak, tube, raft or fish! Great hiking trails nearby and a quiet country road to bike that the big bike races use. Our Scottish Highland cows give kisses are happy to share your carrots, apples and watermelon! We only rent two spots to keep it peaceful here.Sleep in your RV with the sound of the river lulling you to recharge and just breath in the peace. Beautiful 13 mile, a bit challenging drive (very windy) to property along Colorado river. Loved landscape to property and on property. Site on river very tranquil. Although there are now 6-7 sites i've been lucky to be a solo camper which I prefer. Both times I camped there early spring and late Fall, less busy time of season. Host where available to answer any questions I had.

It’s beautiful there you are right on the Colorado River. We did not have any internet. But there was a place to hike which we really liked. One of the workers on the Ranch was very helpful.

Peaceful respite from city life

Convenient access from Dotsero, only 13 miles upstream. The sites were situated nicely facing the river, with beautiful views of the opposing cliffs. There was 30A power for each site, and a hose for potable water nearby. The hosts were very nice, and their two dogs were happy for a round of petting but not always in camp with us. I'll definitely revisit them next summer! We spent 3 comfortable nights there in mid-October.

Quiet! Safe! Beautiful! Friendly!

Nancy and Jerry are terrific hosts. It’s pretty cool be be right there on the fringe of their working ranch, but they and their staff are very unobtrusive… They are very nice people, very personable (if you seek them out,) and the property is even more beautiful than the pictures. We would highly recommend to anyone to consider their ranch as a quiet and very safe destination! Observing their Scottish Highland cattle is pretty amazing as well! If you like eggs, be sure to purchase some of the quail eggs they sell.. They are very tasty!

We had a lovely stay right on the river. It is a very mellow section of the river so my young kids could play in the water without too much concern. We floated right from there down stream.

Cute cows & hookups

Beautiful views, camping by a river, friendly cute cows, and gracious hosts make this a place we'll return to at least a couple more times. The electrical hookup (30A) worked fine and Nancy has hose/potable water available; next time I'll haul my trailer over the divide and Vail pass w/the fresh water tank empty then fill up when I get there. There's a beautiful (but a bit long) drive to Steamboat. Gas is pricey in Gypsom and Steamboat but Glenwood Springs and Rifle are relatively close by. The sites are well kept and the roads to their ranch are paved until their driveway (which is dirt but easily traveled w/RV in tow). The WiFi also works great.

God’s Country

Hosts were very down to earth and welcoming. The property was awesome with beautiful river and sandstone hills. The property is off the road in nice Valley right next to the river. No store close by. Bring everything you need for your stay. Would definitely return!

20 Minutes away from Gypsum.

Great space! The hosts are very friendly. But it was my mistake not to MapQuest the directions as it was at least 20 min out of Gypsum. I was looking for something closer to the highway/ closer to town. But the host was super nice.

Nancy's place along the river is amazing. Brief drive up from I70 to a beautiful bend in the river. Our kids played non-stop with her dogs, we sat around the fireplace listening to the trickle of the water and during the day we enjoyed the company of their highland cows and an enormous golden eagle that lives on the cliff adjacent to the property. They were charming hosts who made us feel at home and went out of their way to make our stay more special. We are already talking about returning in the fall! Thanks again.

Exactly what we were looking for our last night before returning home. Beautiful spot with the sound of the river out your window. Friendly animals to visit. Owner offered us propane when we thought we were out. What more does one need? We would definitely stop here again.

We really enjoyed our spot on the River. We were able to put down our camper’s patio tent. Dining by the water is not easy to find . To sleep by running water just cant be beat . Loved the ranch dog who would come by a few times a day to say hello. Our hosts were certainly available if needed but not at all intrusive . Thanks Gary for parking us . We were able to use Starlink but it might have been better if mounted on roof.

Beautiful place

I loved this place and was loathe to leave, it's peaceful, quiet and breathtakingly beautiful. Their corgi(the true boss there) loves for people to throw sticks for her, she's a hoot to play with and watch. Nancy and Jerry are lovely hosts. Jerry graciously helped us with our flat tire. All the people who live there are kind, wonderful people! Sitting and watching the river was just what I needed. Highly recommend.

It’s really pretty, but….

In an attempt to inform, be advised that you will be about 13 miles from the Interstate, 19 miles from the town of Gypsum, and any gas stations, or restaurants, you will also be without cell service for 13 miles, although your gracious hosts do have wi-fi, but it isn’t great, and sometimes it was non existent. Having said that, it is a beautiful spot, right on the river, as advertised, although we couldn’t find any river access on the property, it is a very pretty backdrop, with lots of greenery, and pretty hills on the other side of the river. Tons of beautiful drives, lakes etc in the area. So if you want to unplug, and get away from it all. This is your spot!

We enjoyed having a camp site right next to the river. The view was amazing. What we didn’t enjoy was a tracker going back and forth, right by us all day moving rocks. It was loud and dusty. Thought you should know.

The location is easy to find and everything in the description is accurate. The kids enjoyed riding bikes and feeding the cows. The river is fast and somewhat dangerous this time of year, but there's a small beach nearby where its safe to wade in the water. Bring bug spray as there are mosquitos. Don't forget to check out nearby Sweetwater Lake.
