Dun Tun is a 5-acre working smallhold we are assisting back to a healthier level. We have animals, plants and people contributing to improving the soil and biodiversity. You may see our meadows high and full of wildflowers or cut short for our animal's benefit. Both make for excellent views from our campsites. We've built a new shelter for the compartment toilet for added privacy and weather protection in 2024! We are expanding our farm stand, in addition to eggs you will now find seasonal produce, firewood when fires are permitted and souvenirs made by folks who live and work on our farm. Both campsites are unimproved spots in our future silvopasture food forest. Located on the "back four" acres of our property, they're surrounded by trees and seclusion. We back to a small airport and are near a main road and you will probably hear traffic. Both campsites have trees and space protecting them from views of people or development. We improved our road in 2022 so bring your vehicle with no worries. We're just outside of the busy part of Port Townsend and close to farms, beaches and historic sites. Go into town for festivals, restaurants and the farmer's market. Chimacum, just two miles away, has several nice restaurants, breweries and farms that offer tours. We're two miles from restaurants, hardware stores and a grocery store in Port Hadlock. We're just 45 minutes from Olympic National Park and 2 hours to the Olympic Peninsula Coast so we're a great stop over. Hablemos Español. Camp 2 is at the farthest end of our primitive road and offers the most privacy. There is ample space to situate your rig how you'd like, find the flattest spot in the mown area and make a u turn. There are mown walking paths leading into the trees or the meadow for you to explore our little spec of nature.

Camp 1 is just off the road and has enough room to pull in, back in and make a u turn. There's plenty of space to set up your awning, table or make a fire in the colder seasons. A mown path leads into the property where you can explore our meadows.

It was as described! Great if for when you need a spot to stay, and close to Port Townsend. Only for recommendation for host is that it'd be superb if the street number was easier to spot, but readers shouldn't think this was hard to find -- it just could've been easier.

Mostly Great, But a bit Noisy

Overall I loved the site, but didn't get great sleep. It was comfy, grassy, and felt secluded. The airport and road noise wasn't bad - a distant hum. I'm a "maybe" on if I would rebook because there was some bizarre music late at night (I'm guessing from the nearby drive-in theatre that was showing Beetlejuice?). It was just loud enough that it was difficult to sleep, and just late enough to make me grumpy (past 10pm).

Easy to find and very spacious and nicely maintained. Loved the site. My only gripe is that the bathroom was not my favorite. While the structure was clean and stocked, the portable toilet wasn’t that clean and so low to the ground some people might have issues. Really, a honey bucket or a pit toilet would be a huge improvement.

Charmed idyl in PT biking distance

Very private site, about a mile or so from a trailhead that allows you to bike all the way in to Port Townsend in less than an hour, what's not to love? My friend and I enjoyed our time on the back acreage of this charming farm. The hosts note the airport and the near(ish) road in their listing as possible nuisances -- neither of which we found to be bothersome. We appreciated the commode, in a nicely belt structure with clear use instructions. While some folks may prefer some of the amenities (plumbing) associated with a larger campground, we found that feeling like we were out in meadow with no one else in site was a treat that was worth the sacrifice! Loved seeing the cute animals, and though our paths never crossed with our hosts, we hope they know that we enjoyed our stay. My friend and I enjoy coming out this way every year - we'll likely check on staying with this campground next summer!

Sweet little Farmstead

My friend and I stayed for 2 nights here and it was the perfect spot for exploring Port Townsend and the Olympic Peninsula. We were in site 2 though we had the place to ourselves. Campsites do seem to have plenty of space and privacy between them and the sweet foot paths throughout were perfect for morning and evening walks with the pup. The boat toilet was actually much easier to use than we expected and the automatic lights outside the well-appointed outhouse were a nice touch. Definitely would come back! Pro Tip: enter the actual address in your gps instead of pulling up through the app which uses the coordinates. That will bring you to the actual driveway of the property.

Ronnie was great and fun to talk to on the way in. The campsites are simple grassy pads (worked well for tents). and away from each other. The toilet system worked really well. When we visited, the evening brought some mosquitos that required a tent (otherwise, a bag out on the grass would have been lovely in the warm night. There's a little traffic noise from the nearby road, but not enough to keep me from falling asleep quickly.

Forest and farm in harmony

Ronnie is a wonderful host and the sites are well maintained, surrounded by natural beauty, and very private. We enjoyed seeing glimpses of the farm animals on the way in and out, and lots of wild birds. There is some traffic noise during the day, but it was quiet at night. It’s also easy to find from the directions, and everything is well labeled. We look forward to staying again!

Yarrow and Daisies Delight

Incredible site and welcoming host. This was our second time staying at Ronnie's property. We loved seeing the goats in the morning as we left to play gigs in Port Townsend and while we were at camp it was a lovely wildflower-dotted way to spend some time playing tunes and just relaxing with our pup. It does get quite hot in mid-July during the day, so we head out of camp early. We like the privacy of the farther space, but very little shade! Thanks again for an incredible stay and we hope to be back next time we are up north.

Got exactly what was advertised. Very easy to communicate with host. Toilet was different but very easy to use with instructions and it was more private than we anticipated, which was nice. Can't complain about a thing.

Our second time camping here, this time in Site #1. Nice to see some impressive improvements on the potty! The site felt private, the paths were well maintained and being tucked back into the property made it feel much more secure and peaceful than some other hipcamps in the area. Daisies were in full bloom this time — stunning! Great spot with lots of subjects for the artist or photographer in you :) Thanks again to Ronnie for sharing the beauty with us!

Meadow Camping

We love the back campsite because it’s private, safe, and surrounded by meadows and trees. Plus, we like camping on grass rather than dirt. The camping areas and paths are kept mowed, which makes walking around easy. The new outhouse is a nice improvement and the chemical toilet is changed regularly. It’s about 10 minutes to PT, an easy drive.

I enjoyed my stay at Ronnie’s camp. The restroom was close enough to the site, but tucked in so that is was quite private. Both sites were easy to get to and had had a nice stones in fire pit. I would definitely stay here again!

Basic but nice

Simple place to lay your head after exploring for the day. Very basic but nice. We were rained out the second day and the host refunded our money which she did not need to do. Very much appreciated.
