We had a nice night camping here! The platform was good, although it was pretty crowded for two 2 person tents, so we moved one of our tents to the area by the car. It was a very cute property, with goats and roosters. We walked along the road about 10 minutes away to a very nice park that went to the beach!

We had an excellent weekend staying at this property. The hosts were so kind and hospitable and even brought our kids some s'more supplies. They had a great time exploring the property and we had a great time chilling by the fire.
Only one thing to note:
- our large 8 person tent did not fit on the wooden platform so we had to pivot and used the designated parking space. It was actually a great set up because we could use the platform for kitchen stuff and a cleaner place for our kids to play on the ground.

We had a great time camping at Big Country Farm. The hosts, Big Country and Carolyn, were both very nice and welcoming. Their property is coming along beautifully, and the campsite they have was very cute. We were a group of four adults, and we had two tents that we were able to make fit. The outhouse was surprisingly clean. It felt very secluded and private. It was easy to forget how close you actually are to town and the ferry.
Thanks again for having us! We had a wonderful time!

we enjoyed our stay at Big Country for the most part. we went here the first weekend of november and the weather was what you’d expect for the PNW. it did feel secluded/private, as advertised, which was huge for us as our dog doesn’t tend to do well around strangers. hosts were quick to reply and helpful with directions. the location was convenient, we had to run to the store for a couple things we forgot. the raised deck was nice, but we did find our 4 person tent only fit if it was going one direction (also the deck was quite slippery - algae maybe?). the fire pit and covered seating area were great to spend our days by!! the site was a bit overgrown with something similar to blackberries, so that was slightly annoying but not a big deal. the thing that caused our rating to not be 5 stars was the porta potty. if it had been better maintained/emptied it would have completely changed our experience.

Carolyn and Ben were exceptional hosts! Very responsive and accommodating. My kids loved getting to visit their goats and chickens each day, and the site was just right for us. Our Coleman 4 person tent worked great on the platform. We got to pick fresh huckleberries right off our site and throw them in our pancakes. Location was close to all our favorite spots on Whidbey - Pickles Deli, Mutiny Bay beach, Ebey's landing, Earth Sanctuary, Langley and Clinton. Would definitely stay there again!

We had a lovely time at this campsite. It’s down a trail in the woods behind the host’s house. Private and spacious area to roam around. Our huge tent didn’t fit on the platform, but there was a nearby spot that worked. The host helped haul our stuff down to the site. We made the walk to the nearby beach twice and also checked out the Earth Sanctuary which is fairly nearby. It’s super close to the ferry terminal which made for an easy trip back home.

The campsite was absolutely perfect! The hosts were gracious, communicative, and so very friendly. Do yourself a favor and give them a shot. At the time of this review, the property is a work in progress, with two other campsites and an outhouse in development. There is some serious potential here! Nevertheless, the one and only available campsite we started at was just fantastic for my partner and me for two nights. We had plenty of privacy and felt very much in tune with our surrounding. We'll definitely be back!
Do bear in mind that you aren't so far from civilization that you won't hear the occasional power tool, helicopter, or plane. Keep these things in mind and you won't be disappointed.

It was great staying here! The hosts were friendly and communicative online and in person, the campsite felt secluded enough even though we were close to the host’s home. We especially appreciated the tent platform. Would recommend!

Work they are doing you can’t drive up to the site and need to carry gear in but I believe that’s temporary. Would definitely camp here again.

I loved tent camping on Carolyn's land! The site was very private, and her communication before and during our stay was really helpful. There is an incredible beach about 5 min. walk away that she recommended to us, and I'm so glad she did. I'd definitely stay here again.

Best Whidbey Bike Minivacation

This was our third time staying at this great campsite, it’s slowly becoming a family tradition. “Country” and Carolyn our gracious hosts, and the setting is superb. We love rolling off the ferry with our bicycles, setting up camp 10 minutes away, spending the rest of the day riding around South Whidbey, and making dinner over the campfire.

This was such a wonderful experience. The hosts were extremely helpful with communication and directions. I felt very welcome and supported. The space is peaceful and relaxing. We had a relaxing weekend away at Carolyn & Big Country’s spot. They were very welcoming and communicative. They even provided wood and offered to get our fire started. We absolutely loved the small secret beach park just a few minutes walk down the road.

The site was lovely and well cared for. The hosts greeted us and were extremely welcoming, gave us a great tour and showed us around their beautiful land. The beach was a bit of a longer hike down than expected however well worth it as it was very secluded and clean. The platform fit perfect for our 4 person tent and we even had the pleasure of seeing deer very close by multiple times due to how quiet and peaceful the site is. Would love to come back again.

We took our bikes across the ferry and rode right on up to the site, it only took about 5-10 minutes from leaving the ferry to the property. The entrance was very easy to find, and our hosts were very responsive. When we rolled up we were greeted warmly and taken back to the private campsite. Fire wood, fresh drinking water, and some water to put our fire out were all available at our site. We made a nice fire in the fire pit and we’re even offered help if we needed to get it started. The shelter was great to store our bikes under, and the tent platform was a nice flat surface for our tent. We got to explore the island and had a nice restful evening, off the mainland. We really appreciate all the hospitality and would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing site to stay at as you explore the island! We’re already talking about our next visit :)

I had a great stay at Big Country. Host was friendly and accommodating, even provided wood and set up a camp fire for us. Site was well maintained and comfortable, tucked away in nature but not far from shops in town and the ferry. I look forward to coming back on my next bicycle adventure.
