We have a 7 acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a king shepherd named Jack and a cat named Lulu. You may see some of our neighbour's ducks walking around and hear their rooster in the morning. Please note; our driveway is an uphill, switchback driveway so long trailers are not a fit for our location. Front wheel or 4 wheel is a plus but typically all vehicles can make it up our driveway. We have 2 swimming holes near and backing our property. At the back of the property is Hayward Lake/Hairsine Creek which is great for swimming. Inflatable paddle boards are the way to go if you wish to paddle board in the lake since it would be difficult portaging a rigid paddle board down the Crown Land trail. On the front is the Stave River Runoff. This has trails and is ideal if you have smaller children as the water is a bit warmer and has shallow areas. There are hiking trails in the area and a beach area a short drive from the sites.

This property was purchased nearly half a century ago. For the majority of this time the forest section you will be camping in was left undeveloped, apart from a few mountain bike trails. Recently, as a family, we have seen a large increase in the people traveling to the Sunshine Coast to escape the city limits. Unable to rock up to a campsite and pick our spot like we used to, it was easy to see a growing demand. We have taken everything we love about camping and done our best to give you a sense of what life on the Coast is really about. Gibsons -Sunshine Coast is a 40 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver BC Please note: By entering onto the property you release all liabilities towards us as hosts. You are choosing to camp in a forested area that contains many hazards as well as potential threats. These include but are not limited to; Wild life (bears, bob cats, cougars etc), Fire is a serious threat to this region during summer months strict no smoking policy is in effect. Care should be taken walking around uneven surfaces. All campers are required to stay within camp boundaries fail to follow these protocols will result in being asked to leave. The Forest Sanctuary Bell Tent is our newest addition at Forest Sanctuary and is located within the beautiful Forest Sanctuary Campground in Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast. The Bell Tent is set up and ready to use. It's cozy and spacious and can accommodate up to 8 people. Bring your own sleeping bags and sleeping mats or mattresses and you're ready to go. Within you'll find one futon for 2 with sheets, blankets and pillows provided. Renting the Bell Tent offers use of all amenities that Forest Sanctuary has to offer. We have a covered communal outdoor kitchen and lounge with all cookware, dishware and utensils provided. Barbecue and Coleman stove with propane provided. We have a great communal fire pit where you can meet fellow campers from around the world. Also included are solar showers and a great open air outhouse. Drinking water is provided. Firewood can be purchased onsite for when campfires are permitted. Propane fire pits are available for rent. The property also has a great camping cabin and level grass forest campsites. A sauna care of PranaSauna is available for rent, and when combined with a cold plunge in our aquifer fed pond it makes for a great rejuvenating experience. Nestled in the heart of the Tamihi Recreational Area, just 20 minutes from town, our property offers a rare blend of seclusion and adventure. Surrounded on three sides by lush, moss-draped forest and bordered on the fourth by the stunning Chilliwack River, it’s a true nature lover’s paradise. Enjoy a spacious riverside beach, great for swimming during the summer and fall as well a world-class fishing. The area features Class I–IV rapids for whitewater kayaking, with Chilliwack River Rafting just 5 or so minutes away. You can ATV right out of our gate onto unlimited logging roads and trails or hike the Trans Canada Trail 3 blocks from our gate. There isn't river access at the sites. The stairs to the beach are through the picnic shelter. There is a light wire fence along the river in riverfront sites for protection due to a drop-off and undercut banks. ATV's are idle in - idle out. QUIET, well-mannered, leashed pets are welcome if you pick up after them and not leave them unattended. LONG WEEKENDS are a minimum of 3 nights. CHILDREN MUST be accompanied by a parent at all times! FIREWOOD is $9. for a large feed bag full and is available between 9 AM and 8 PM. WATER: We do have a non-potable water tap in the park. I'm not allowed to say that the water at the waterfall/creek is good water - so I won't. BEEF and EGGS: We have grass-fed Black Angus beef jerky for sale (this cow was treated as a pet until her time & was dispatched on the farm to avoid stress). We occasionally have eggs from our pastured chickens. Our free-range kind, gentle horses also wander the property. Any interactions with them are at your own risk! The gate must be kept closed because of them.

The Gertie Bus is located a 5 min walk to a beautiful white sand beach (at low tide). There are walking trails all around and lots of beach access. Tucked into the front of our property in the quiet of Gabriola island you’ll find the converted Gertie bus with all the amenities you need. The bus has a gas stovetop/oven, bar fridge and sink with grey water system. Equipped kitchen and sofa area to hang out. The standard queen bed is great for sleeping in and relaxing with that second cup of coffee. Mountain biking, hiking, swimming and whale watching are just steps away. There is beach access across the street through a private park with picnic tables, a very old eagles nest and a private access to a rocky beach perfect for sunsets. 2 nights at An Experience!-Golden Ears Glamping

We really enjoyed our time at Golden Ears Glamping cabin suite, Greg was a great host who answered quickly any of our questions or needs, and he even spent the time teaching us how to fish and lent us his fishing rod. We love the property and the amenities available, the river behind the place is awesome, we swam, fished and even got to have a campfire! We got an up close and personal view of nature! We saw a black bear, and also a beaver swimming in a creek which was so cool! If you are someone who loves to be in nature, to have peace and relaxation this place would be good for you! We would like to come back, maybe we will try the tent next time!

1 night at Lakewood Cabins

I brought two friends who were first time visitors to Canada and they loved the whole experience! The cabin itself was small but very very cozy (3 adults & 1 dog), and waking up to a big window facing the forest was my favourite part. The washroom was very clean, and there were enough kitchen utensils for us to cook hotpot. It was close to a few good trails around cultus too. Really recommend this place for those who want to camp but want no hassle and a soft bed to sleep in :))

A truly wonderful and welcoming experience! From the moment we arrived, we felt safe, comfortable, and genuinely welcomed. The ambiance was absolutely beautiful — surrounded by peaceful forest, nature, and charming rustic touches that created such a relaxing and memorable atmosphere. Everything exceeded our expectations. The care and attention to detail were evident throughout, and the setting provided the perfect escape to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. It felt like a little hidden gem where you could truly slow down and appreciate the moment. We left with wonderful memories and would happily recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful, welcoming, and special experience. 1 night at Forest Sanctuary Cabin

Christian's site is incredible. Whilst being quite easily accessible, at the end of a road just off the main road, it is so peaceful and quiet that you'll think you're hundreds of miles away. It is obvious a lot of care has gone into the creation of this site, and it pays off. Just a really peaceful, quiet place to reconnect with nature. The cabin itself was very comfortable - warm with the fire, and at night really transforms into an amazing space with the solar powered lights. Can't recommend enough!

Weekend Trip to Mixed Barrel Farm

We had a wonderful stay at Mixed Barrel Farm. Leah made us feel very welcome and was very kind and patient with our daughter - showing her around the farm and letting her feed the chickens and pick her own grapes. The farm is very peaceful and getting to enjoy a campfire under the stars was a treat. A very special stay, especially for families with young kids. I’m sure we will be back another time!

Weekend Trip to Ever Green

Camped here for a quick weekend away and found a nicely-appointed RV set up on a big lot with plenty of space. Samuel, the host, was very prompt with all communication ahead of the trip and very friendly during our stay. There's no plumbing hookup for the RV, but there's a washroom in the outbuilding a short walk away that's probably nicer anyway. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet place to stay outside of the city or as a launching point for the abundance of outdoor activities nearby.

Weekend Trip to Forest Sanctuary Cabin

We loved our stay in Christian’s cabin and the Forest Sanctuary. Christian was very friendly, personally giving us a tour of the space and even helping with the campfire. Our stay was tranquil and had everything we needed. Would recommend even bringing multiple groups to take advantage of the collection of campsites in the sanctuary.

Greg was an excellent host. The cabin is clean and well-kept. It had everything we needed and more (lots of board games, toiletries, and it even had yoga mat and a pull-up bar). Would definitely love to book this place again next summer.

We had a wonderful stay in the Bell Tent and in the Forest Sanctuary generally. Christian has created a beautiful retreat with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Everything was comfortable, clean, and convenient. Christian went out of his way to make sure we were well stocked in firewood and blankets for the rainy weather. All in all a great place we will be happy to visit again!

We had a lovely stay on Brent and Sherri's property - Their glamping site is very well made, well-stocked outdoor kitchen, the propane fridge is super useful, and the space is great! Sherri was very welcoming and got back to promptly when we messaged :) We would love to come back ! One note for future campers: bring earplugs if you're not an early riser, or the neighbor rooster will make one of you 😅

Weekend Trip to Lakewood Cabins

Wow, I can't say enough about this place! Michael was wildly responsive, first of all. Detailed instructions on how to get there, how to get into the property, and even immediately responded about whether or not we could feed his horse a treat (answer: yes, if it's fruit and make sure it's cut up). The cabin itself was great: as described and then some. There was wifi (?!), a full television with roku, space to sleep, and enough counter space to prepare a basic meal. I didn't expect the pots and pans, oil and salt, microwave, kettle, coffee maker... geez! AND AN OUTDOOR SHOWER. This specific cabin is slightly pushed back from the main field by 3 meters and some trees, nothing extreme and adding even more privacy. There is a separate restroom with a flushing toilet and sink 5 meters away, very easy to access and clean. There's a horse. We saw bunnies. There's a really well done little path full of surprises. If I had kids, they'd love this. I'm an adult and I loved it! This place is really well thought through, very homemade/made with love, and slightly nicer than the photos. I was expecting a campsite and got a rustic bnb (I've had less nice bnbs). I debated writing this review so honestly because I would love to rebook at the same rate. Michael C is running a considerate, well-managed, and tight ship. Please book him out to keep this spot going but leave me time to get my next booking in!

We loved our stay and exploring Gabriola Island. Paige’s bunkies are very comfortable and clean, we and our kids had so much fun. We had everything we needed for our stay and were walking distance to a lovely beach. Ten out of ten, would stay again!

My family had a great time staying in the Woodland cabin. It was very cozy and kids loved the loft.What stands out to me was the enchanted forest trail and the box of markers left to decorate rocks.It was both cute and thoughtful. Michael was very pleasant and accommodating. I have already recommended to friends.

We loved our experience at the Gertie. It’s not only cute, it’s well set up for a comfortable stay. We particularly enjoyed the nearby beach, just a short walk away. We also enjoyed the communal set up of the property — we made fast friends with another family staying in the other lodgings on the property. Overall it was a really great experience!
