We have a 7 acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a king shepherd named Jack and a cat named Lulu. You may see some of our neighbour's ducks walking around and hear their rooster in the morning. Please note; our driveway is an uphill, switchback driveway so long trailers are not a fit for our location. Front wheel or 4 wheel is a plus but typically all vehicles can make it up our driveway. We have 2 swimming holes near and backing our property. At the back of the property is Hayward Lake/Hairsine Creek which is great for swimming. Inflatable paddle boards are the way to go if you wish to paddle board in the lake since it would be difficult portaging a rigid paddle board down the Crown Land trail. On the front is the Stave River Runoff. This has trails and is ideal if you have smaller children as the water is a bit warmer and has shallow areas. There are hiking trails in the area and a beach area a short drive from the sites.

Drinking water is provided. Firewood is sold onsite for when campfires are permitted. Propane fire pit rentals available. For bathing I have cold showers and seasonal warm solar showers on hot days. Plus an aquifer-fed pond for clean, cold water dips. If you want something a little fancier I have a great little off-grid camping cabin and a Bell tent. Ask me about them. A beautiful mobile sauna care of Pranasauna is available for rent. Roberts Creek is a peaceful, eclectic, rural community seated between Gibsons and Sechelt, and possesses a stunning blend of beaches, forest, and some of the friendliest people you will come across. Enjoy a spacious riverside beach, great for swimming during the summer and fall & has world-class fishing. The area features Class I–IV rapids, ideal for whitewater kayaking, with Chilliwack River Rafting just minutes away. There isn't river access at the sites. The stairs to the beach are through the covered picnic shelter. The Gertie Bus is located a 5 min walk to a beautiful white sand beach (at low tide). There are walking trails all around and lots of beach access. Tucked into the front of our property in the quiet of Gabriola island you’ll find the converted Gertie bus with all the amenities you need. The bus has a gas stovetop/oven, bar fridge and sink with grey water system. Equipped kitchen and sofa area to hang out. The standard queen bed is great for sleeping in and relaxing with that second cup of coffee. Mountain biking, hiking, swimming and whale watching are just steps away. There is beach access across the street through a private park with picnic tables, a very old eagles nest and a private access to a rocky beach perfect for sunsets. The home itself has a pottery studio on the main floor with a full time studio Practice. Give Paige a ring if you’d like a tour, she’s usually working away. Our family lives on the top floor. Outside the bus is are lush veggie gardens, fruit trees and a nice private outdoor dining area. A BBQ and solar lights also help with evening hangouts. Family friendly! Also we love animals but we ask that you clean up after your pet and keep any animals that aren’t so great with kids and other animals on leash. We have a dachshund on the property that is friendly and old ( barks at strangers but is all bark I assure you, he just wants to be friends)

Weekend Trip to An Experience!-Golden Ears Glamping

Very quiet, cute and comfortable. Relaxing to the sound of the river in the adorable hot tub was a magical getaway and so close to home. The Woodland Cabin was like heaven. The surrounding scenery was beautiful, and although the cabin was small, it felt spacious enough and had everything we needed. The bathroom was just a short walk away, but it was clean, warm, and very comfortable to use. We enjoyed the campfire late into the night. The firewood we purchased for $10 was more than enough, and we were grateful that the host generously provided extra. We would absolutely love to come back again for our vacation next year. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

We absolutely loved our stay at Michael’s cabin and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and peaceful getaway. From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and thoughtfully prepared. One of the highlights of our stay was the animals on the property. There’s a horse, a goat, and chickens, which made the experience feel extra special and charming. The horse even walked over to greet us, and that little moment truly made our trip memorable. Our dog also had an amazing time. She was completely comfortable inside the cabin and loved sitting by the window watching the horse. It was such a joy to see her so relaxed and happy. Even though it’s a small cabin, it has absolutely everything you need. The space is very well equipped, comfortable, and perfect for unwinding. We even had a cozy movie night and felt completely at home the entire time. The only small recommendation I would add is to bring warm slippers or thick socks if you’re visiting during colder weather. While the heater works well and keeps the cabin warm, the floors can feel quite cold. Aside from that minor detail, everything about our stay was wonderful. We truly had a lovely experience and would gladly come back again.

A lovely place to stay, would definetly come again! Carson and Joanne were such kind and welcoming hosts. We got to feed the chickens and learn more about their property and the bunkhouse. Well supplied kitchen and a cozy living space with a bunch of games (with Catan!) Can't wait to be back!

Loved our stay here on new year's eve! The cabin stayed warm enough with the wood stove going, and we really enjoyed having the place to ourselves. There are some great mountain biking trails about 20 minutes up a double track road and over a creek crossing. Thanks Christian for being a great host!

Christian's forest sanctuary is just that! The work he has put into the cabin, surrounding grounds and water features is amazing. If fairies were real they would live here! Everything you could possibly need is provided. Bring lots of tea lites with you. I would also recommend bringing headlamps/lanterns if you are staying in the winter time. Christian is an amazing host and a lovely human being. Enjoy your stay, we certainly did.

Weekend Trip to Forest Sanctuary Cabin

My partner and I spent 4 nights/5 days at the cabin in the forest and it was magical. Disconnecting from wi-fi, electricity, and reconnecting to the simplicity of nature and each other was a beautiful way to connect to ourselves and the land around us. We became fire tenderers, watched the sunrise and sunset, befriended with the trees, cried over the beauty of the sky and the world around us. It was a truly unique experience and Christian was so hospitable, going above and beyond in making sure our trip was a good one. He also recommended a bunch of local areas to check out. The people at Roberts Creek and the surrounding area are incredibly nice! There are a lot of cute restaurants, art, and shops to check out. We visited book shops, music stores, unique clothing stores, and more. There was a lot of personality in every place we saw. And the beach was beautiful. We went during the winter and it was raining and cold, but it was also very cozy. We read books and made drawings over candle light. The fire kept us warm and there are plenty of blankets in the cabin. Even though there was no running hot water, it was easy enough to boil water to wash-up or visit the local pool for a hot shower. I would recommend this Forest Sanctuary to anyone looking for a chill place to visit. Christian is very sweet and so was everyone we met. Getting back to nature was fun and I would come back again. It's a great place for a romantic getaway and I'd love to bring friends in the future.
