55km from Paul Lake Provincial Park · 3 sites · Tents, RVs · Kamloops, BC
Welcome to 3 Ravens Ranch (Formerly 7 Sparks Ranch) We are closed until next spring while we are doing some land improvements and infrastructure for our ranch. We will be re-branding under 3 Ravens Ranch. We look forward to re-opening next year! Enjoy a relaxing getaway with 3 Ravens Ranch. Consider extending your stay to fully unwind and explore everything the area has to offer. A beautiful creek flows right by the campsite, dip your feet in. You can go for walks or nap under the Aspens! Spring note - snow has been melting and the ground is unthawing - please feel free to send me a message if you have any question about the gravel road. It can be muddy and bumpy while the road awaits its winter repairs. We are one hour outside of Kamloops on a maintained public gravel road, however AWD or 4WD recommended during late fall to late spring. We have no minimum stay but highly recommend two nights. Do not use google maps to find our place - it can be very confusing. Google maps may show coming to our property from Savona but the easiest drive is from Kamloops. Please use the directions that get emailed to you just before your stay. To get here head to the Kamloops airport then follow Tranquille Criss Creek Road. We do not recommend traveling this road in the dark if you are not familiar with it! Wonderfully private! Come give our land some love as it recovers from the 2021 Sparks Lake forest fire. Acres and acres to hike, mountain bike and snowshoe. Surrounded by crown land there is no lack of space to explore and easy access to forest service roads to quad and bike. Many lakes near by for fishing and kayaking. Wildlife galore! There are wild flowers and plants so come forage and explore. Disconnect from the busyness of city life! Coming soon - guided hikes, foraging and information about local medicinal plants and a soon to be Apothecary on site! Detailed directions available after booking!

The best camping in Paul Lake Provincial Park, BC guide

Overview

About

Less than a 30-minute drive from Kamloops in the BC Interior is Paul Lake Provincial Park. Seven kilometres of hiking trails lead to the steep summit of Gibraltar Rock with lovely views of Paul Lake below and Harper Mountain beyond. The park’s sole campground isn’t far from the 400-metre stretch of sandy beach on Paul Lake, which offers a nice spot for swimming, paddling, fishing for rainbow trout, and motorboating.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. The Paul Lake Provincial Park campground opens in mid-May and remains open for reserved camping until the Labour Day long weekend. For the remainder of September the campground is open for first-come, first-served camping.
  2. Of the 90 vehicle-accessible campsites, 47 are reservable in advance and the rest remain first-come, first-served. To make a reservation, book online on BC Parks’ Discover Camping website.
  3. The campground opens at 7am daily. For a first-come, first-served site, get there early.

When to go

After September, the campground closes to all but self-contained campers, who can stay for free and without services in the day-use area until the end of October or when snow keeps vehicles from getting through. Weekends (especially long ones) are very popular, and it’s slightly quieter during the week. Remember that the region can get very hot in the peak of summer, when tent camping may be a little less comfortable. Spring and fall are generally less crowded and bring mild weather.

Know before you go

  • The park’s campground is not wheelchair accessible.
  • The dense Douglas fir forests are beautiful but prone to wildfires. Ensure you follow the guidelines for campfires, including any limited fire hours or fire bans.
  • Discounted rates are available for BC seniors in fall and spring.
