8 Point Acres has one of the most breathtaking views the Shuswap has to offer! Overlooking Tappen and the Salmon Arm of Shuswap Lake in Beautiful British Columbia. Where else can you camp with 180 degree views of lake, mountains and farmland?
8 Point Acres is just over 8 Acres of tiered and forested land with a flat area that can easily fit up to 4 trailers or RV’s. Making this a pretty incredible group site! Our guests can explore the forest, meadow, trails and even a small little goldfish pond!
There are no services on site so campers need to be self contained with bathrooms, water and generators if they need power.
The neighbors are a little ways away but please keep in mind that generator and quiet time hours are between 10pm and 8am.The 8 Point Acres camp Site is a 3/4 acre flat space overlooking Shuswap Lake that can fit up to 5 trailers or RV’s.
There is only one site so campers will enjoy the entire place to themselves.
The view is truly unobstructed. The site is very private with the closest neighbor a few hundred meters away. Please adhere to a quiet time of 10pm-8am. No generators or loud music during this time.
From the site, guests can explore the full 8 acres of property and beyond as the land below connects directly to land owned by the Trans Canada HWY.
There are bear and deer in the area so you’ll want to keep an eye on your kids and pets. That being said, the wildlife seems to stay away while there are people on the site. The property is not fenced in so if your dog likes to wander you may want to keep them on a lead or leash.
This site is a perfect staging point for all the Shuswap has to offer. There are endless options for hiking, boating, fishing and other activities only minutes away. Salmon Arm is a 10 minute drive in one direction and Blind Bay is a 10 minute drive in the other direction. Both towns have really great options for restaurants and activities.

Our first try using Hipcamp and this place was amazing. You can’t beat the view from this very private spot. We wished we could have stayed longer but had other reservations booked. Communication was quick with Jeff and Tana. We would love to come back. Would highly recommend this spot.
Great little spot! Very private, good size, beautiful view, nice to let the dog be off leash without worry, good hiking, boating, and fishing only a few minutes away, hosts are very responsive and helpful. We would definitely go back!
This is a large site with room for 2 or 3 large RV’s and awesome views over Salmon Arm waters. Site was fairly level although entrance was a little tight once down the access track it was pretty easy to get in.
Only had one night there but would recommend.
We enjoyed our stay at 8 Point Acres. Talk about a view-just amazing. Nice location - close enough to town but yet a world away. Thanks to Jeff and Tana for being very responsive and sharing this amazing property!
Jeff and Tana have a great campsite with the amazing views.
We would love to come back again. Jeff and Tana were great with responding to all of our questions and were very helpful.
Rarely does a place live up to the marketing hype; this Hipcamp is exceeds it. Pictures don’t do it justice. You owe it to yourself to recharge your soul while experiencing the incredible views. The only downside is that have to eventually leave.
We stayed there with a 29 foot RV. Tons of space. Definitely worth it for a group of people though there is a neighbour in earshot so would have to keep that in mind for evenings. We had a baby and dog, so it was a wonderful relaxing time for us. Google maps took us up a gravel road via Bolton instead of the much easier route along 65th ave. Highly recommend taking the latter. Plus you can see the sign better to enter in that direction. I would stay again and recommend to friends. Enjoy!
What an absolutely gorgeous site with spectacular views. Driving up the lane way we expected something beautiful, but this was magical. We were even greeted by a lovely rainbow as we set up camp. Quiet and peaceful perfection. Thank you!
The view is amazing! The site was fantastic- firepit with some wood set aside for us to use. Cleared level ground. Huge trees for shade and privacy. Jeff was very communicative and gave excellent instructions on how to find this gem. It was our first test for dry camping so our stay was short, too short. We will be back for sure!! Great hiking nearby as well. Thank you Jeff and Tana for sharing your land with us. Seeing the stars without light pollution. Was food for the soul:)
