This 40 acres of valley bottom farm land is nestled under a steep rocky uprising to the west called Flyhills. To the east is Mt Ida which is often the backdrop to the display of a beautiful sunset. The property is divided by the slow meandering Salmon river which is only a foot deep at low water through the summer. Please use 2nd driveway.

Pitch your tent in one of the two rustic forested pull-in sites, or pack it in 600 yards along the edge of the field to the designated river tenting area within the cottonwoods, maples, willow and alders. Lots of nature to relax in and absorb. All of the campsites are nestled in trees and quite private, at least 100 yards apart.  During your stay, you’ll have access to a fire pit, firewood, and a picnic table for enjoying your meals. Water is also available for washing but should be boiled before drinking. The property offers two short hiking trails. One up a hill with an awesome view of the Salmon Valley, the city of Salmon Arm and a beautiful view of Mt Ida on the east side of the valley. The second runs along the field and then through the trees along the river. My property is a landing field for hang gliders and Paragliders with approximately 4000 feet of elevation between launch and landing. If you’re lucky you’ll be able to watch people take flight during your stay. A short 10-minute drive away is the town of Salmon Arm, situated on beautiful Shuswap Lake. Salmon Arm has a well-groomed and maintained “Canoe Beach” and park for public swimming and use. At the Wharf, you’ll be able to rent sea-doos for a day of fun on the water. And don’t forget to check out all of the delicious restaurants and cafes in Salmon Arm if you don’t feel like cooking one night.  Also close by is hiking on “Flyhills” crown land. It is steeply accessible by a trail from the campsite for the very enthusiastic or choose to drive on up to the snowmobile parking lot and hike the more gentle slopes from there.  Looking forward to hosting you soon! Truly beautiful campsite! But I will say the directions were really confusing to the point that we were terribly lost on our way in, AND the next folks to show up also were lost on their way in, so obviously it's a pattern there. I'm surprised this hasn't been addressed. Definitely a re-write of the directions needs to be made up including a visual map.

​We booked Ken’s private site after missing out on park campsites, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The property is wonderful, and Ken’s hospitality is unmatched. His friendly dog, Charlie, was a highlight - joining us for walks down to the stream and hanging out by the campfire at night. We spent our day swimming at nearby Shuswap Lake. A couple of quick tips for summer campers: definitely bring mosquito repellent and keep your tent zipped tight! A small day-use shower area near the pit toilet would be an amazing addition for longer stays, but overall, it was a fantastic two-night trip. We’d love to come back!

We booked Kens site last minute and we were able to be accommodated quickly as we realized that our site was for a tent but we were car camping. We were greeted by Ken and his lovely dog named Charlie when we arrived. Charlie stuck by us and kept us company while we camped in Kens pasture and even had Charlie show us the way to the river. Unfortunately the bugs were bad so we didn't stay long there. The views were awesome from the pasture and we would recommend anyone to stay there if they are staying in Salmon Arm.

We needed a place to setup our rooftop tent for a quick night during our road trip home - Ken’s land was perfect for this! Lots of space, good location, and beautiful view! We were a bit confused where to go as the directions to the site weren’t very clear and there wasn’t any signs but once we figured it out there were no complaints.

Overall is was good, a nice location and Jen is responsive. However today I am covered in mosquito bites, literally. I arrived later so had maybe 30 min to set up and they were out in force. When I left in the morning, still in force. Bring your bug spray!

2nd Stay and will be back for more! Peaceful, clean, large space, morning sun, afternoon shade ~ neighbouring farmer was cutting his hay field, saw a coyote from afar ~ perfection. Thank you Ken!!

Peaceful, treed, lovely walk through the grass to the river. Level driveway entrance. Level site. Outhouse conveniently close, giant picnic table, lovely dogs, nice neighbours, sounds of nature. Peaceful, restful, safe. Thank you for sharing this wonderful spot Ken!

We were a group of 6 in 2 camper vans and a truck tent and the site by the gazebo was great. We enjoyed the views and got to wake up to horses grazing in the pasture. There was lots of space, it was flat, and there was a campfire ring right there. Good group camping spot. Ken was also so friendly and helpful. Such a great host. Charlie (the dog) came to visit as well, so we got to enjoy his company each day too. Would definitely stay here again!

Absolutely ADORED the property. We tented in one of the RV/tent spots, and it worked perfectly for us. Ken introduced us to Charlie the lab (who had a blast wearing out our dog) and we had a few walks down to the river. The river was lovely! So peaceful and quiet. Mosquitos were pretty nasty down there, and we were glad we didn’t camp there for that reason. Nothing that a bit of bug spray wouldn’t fix. Next time we drive through the area, we will definitely be back.

Ken’s property was one of my favourite camping experiences. Gorgeous landscapes, wildflowers galore, quiet, peaceful and the highlight was Split, Lucky and Charlie (2 horses and doggie)! Expect mosquitos when the sun goes down, typical for camping most places! We cannot wait to go back! Ken and his niece were so lovely and welcoming, I would recommend this spot to anyone! Thank you so much for having us!

This was a great, simple and easy stay...peaceful, quiet and well located... as others have mentioned - the horses and dog make it special as well. Highly recommend - it is rustic and exactly what I feel the HipCamp vibe is all about.

We had a great time camping at Ken’s place! The bugs were alittle much but with some bug spray and the smoke from the fire we were able to manage. Ken was super friendly and was very responsive if we had any questions 😊

Quiet, beautiful and rustic campsite. We loved the tranquility and being surrounded by nature. Charlie (the dog) and the two horses were so much fun to have around. Ken (the host) was responsive and accommodating. Come with the right expectations and you will find a little slice of heaven.

Charming farm with equally charming host/family. My girls adored the two horses and visited them many times during our visit as did I. We also had the pleasure of spending the afternoon at the river which was just a short walk across the field. I read a comment about a dog barking before I booked our stay- there was a very friendly dog but the only barking I observed (and it was not continuous or excessive) was when coyotes attempted to enter the far back end of the field (this was impressive because I could barely see them but there was no getting past that pup!) I was very grateful for the added security and it was a job well done! Yes there are mosquitoes but I feel like that’s expected if you are camping. Bring bug spray and a coil and you will be fine. There was a glitch when I booked on the site -we have a trailer and when I booked it said under 24ft allowed but after booking it said tent or van- regardless they were accommodating and had lots of space for a small trailer though maybe clarity if you are booking because one of the tent spaces would not be suitable (by the river). The only recommendation I would make would be to label the sites as there was some confusion- that being said we made the reservation VERY last minute and the host was not on site at the time- but his son helped us get sorted out. All and all it was a great place that brought me back to visiting my pops at his farm many years ago.
