This 40 acres of valley bottom farm land is nestled under a steep rocky uprising to the east called Flyhills. To the west is Mt Ida which is often the backdrop to the display of a beautiful sunset. The property is divided by the slow meandering Salmon river which is only a foot deep at low water through the summer.

Site 4 - A Piece of the Salmon Valley

100% (5)
Tent site · Sleeps 4
Pitch your tent in one of the two rustic forested pull-in sites, or pack it in 600 yards along the edge of the field to the designated river tenting area within the cottonwoods, maples, willow and alders. Lots of nature to relax in and absorb. All of the campsites are nestled in trees and quite private, at least 100 yards apart.  During your stay, you’ll have access to a fire pit, firewood, and a picnic table for enjoying your meals. Water is also available for washing but should be boiled before drinking. The property offers two short hiking trails. One up a hill with an awesome view of the Salmon Valley, the city of Salmon Arm and a beautiful view of Mt Ida on the east side of the valley. The second runs along the field and then through the trees along the river. My property is a landing field for hang gliders and Paragliders with approximately 4000 feet of elevation between launch and landing. If you’re lucky you’ll be able to watch people take flight during your stay. A short 10-minute drive away is the town of Salmon Arm, situated on beautiful Shuswap Lake. Salmon Arm has a well-groomed and maintained “Canoe Beach” and park for public swimming and use. At the Wharf, you’ll be able to rent sea-doos for a day of fun on the water. And don’t forget to check out all of the delicious restaurants and cafes in Salmon Arm if you don’t feel like cooking one night.  Also close by is hiking on “Flyhills” crown land. It is steeply accessible by a trail from the campsite for the very enthusiastic or choose to drive on up to the snowmobile parking lot and hike the more gentle slopes from there.  Looking forward to hosting you soon! If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask!
