Fantastic place!! Wonderful host and adorably patient doggy! Very peaceful and quiet but close enough to town that you’re not far from amenities! Would give Ken 6/5 stars if I could! Thank you so much for hosting us :)

very beautiful spot!!! loved the horses and dogs that would run around, made it feel so homey and safe. the view of the mountains was incredible, it was just what i needed!!

Great place to spend a few nights, surrounded by horses and dogs we didn't feel lonely. Ken was very nice at our arrival.

The views from our site near the pavilion were beautiful. It was a bit confusing at first as Ken was away. His son though was home and showed us where to go. Very friendly horse was fun to visit with.

Quiet, beautiful and rustic campsite. We loved the tranquility and being surrounded by nature. Charlie (the dog) and the two horses were so much fun to have around. Ken (the host) was responsive and accommodating. Come with the right expectations and you will find a little slice of heaven.

Charming farm with equally charming host/family. My girls adored the two horses and visited them many times during our visit as did I. We also had the pleasure of spending the afternoon at the river which was just a short walk across the field. I read a comment about a dog barking before I booked our stay- there was a very friendly dog but the only barking I observed (and it was not continuous or excessive) was when coyotes attempted to enter the far back end of the field (this was impressive because I could barely see them but there was no getting past that pup!) I was very grateful for the added security and it was a job well done! Yes there are mosquitoes but I feel like that’s expected if you are camping. Bring bug spray and a coil and you will be fine.
There was a glitch when I booked on the site -we have a trailer and when I booked it said under 24ft allowed but after booking it said tent or van- regardless they were accommodating and had lots of space for a small trailer though maybe clarity if you are booking because one of the tent spaces would not be suitable (by the river). The only recommendation I would make would be to label the sites as there was some confusion- that being said we made the reservation VERY last minute and the host was not on site at the time- but his son helped us get sorted out. All and all it was a great place that brought me back to visiting my pops at his farm many years ago.

This was a nice little spot. I was a bit hazy on the details, but I got there eventually. I'd stay there again. It was quiet and the spot was flat without any large rocks.

Ken was a great host and it was a lovely, private, and convenient site very close to Salmon Arm. The only downside was that the mosquitos were very intense, even while using a thermacell!

I love this place! I stayed down by the gazebo next to a cove of trees, songbirds filling the air all through the day. Coming out of my camper to see two horses right there made it an incredibly uplifting experience.
Meeting Ken and his family was a delight as well, such a wonderful host! I'll definitely be returning!

Gorgeous view, friendly hospitality, a BBQ, awesome doggy company, and horses! This is a truly rustic camping yard with a beautiful view and lots of friendly animal company. There is an outhouse, sone cell service, electricity up at the house, and plenty of space.

Absolutely wonderful experience camping here. Ken was so lovely and welcoming, and we camped in his field in a beautiful valley with stunning views of the neigburing mountains. I spent the day hiking up in the hills behind the property and loved it so much. Ken even offered to show us some arts and crafts, and we spent a morning with him making some small mosaics with river stones. I cannot recommend enough. It's already a beautiful property, but Ken makes it perfect!!!

Ken was very friendly and welcoming, as was his dog Charlie. The land is beautiful, forested with the views of the mountains, yet so close to Salmon Arm. I had the best sleep in his quiet field, and loved waking up to the rooster call and the soft presence of horses ... Split and Lucky. I look forward to a return visit. Thank you Ken!

Ken’s property close to Salmon Arm is nothing short of beautiful. The small river running through the farm with Mt. Ida rising in the background creates an incredibly picturesque setting. The dog is friendly, joining me on my walks, with the horses grazing, and chickens scratching.
The drive-in sites are leveled/cleared, and shaded by the trees. The walk-in tent sites by the river are mostly located in a grass clearing, with knee high grass when I visited. Note the walk to get to these sites is across a decent sized field, and thus any heavy items will be a bummer to lug out. The small river is peaceful, and despite it not suitable for swimming, I was tempted. There’re two pit toilets, which are decently clean, one near the drive-in sites, and the other at the opposite end of the field to the walk-in sites. While there’s no fire rings or picnic tables at the sites, there's a communal firepit / picnic table located near the lower outhouse. A rough goat trail runs from the drive-in sites up into the Flyhills that overlook the property. The views are well worth the scramble, but don’t expect to follow the trail exactly, as it’s easy to lose.
However, there is a drawback: the mosquitos. When I visited in late July, no matter where I was, a literal cloud of relentless mosquitos followed. Even wearing multiple applications of 30% DEET repellent, I was still mobbed. For this reason, maybe stay at a different time of year, or find some other solution than hiding in a tent.

The campsite was suppose to be a quiet out of the way place but it wasn’t. The first night the dog barked for about 4 hours continuously till 10:00pm. The second night there was a loud party with music until after midnight. Also the mosquitoes were so bad we couldn’t sit outside even with all kinds of repellent.

Ken was friendly, the land was beautiful, and the horses were great to have nearby. The problem was that it was swarming with mosquitoes. I grew up in a similar environment, but I have never seen so many. My daughter found 40 bites on her after only 20 minutes at the site.

We stopped in for one night on our way from Edmonton to Calgary. We were welcomed by Charlie who is a perfect gentleman. We also enjoyed a morning visit with the horses. The drive in site was lovely with a beautiful view! Very close to Salmon Arm. 10/10 would recommend.

Quiet, dark, and private. Great location. The accommodations were as expected and the host was responsive to questions. Enjoyed looking at the chickens and listening to their morning song. We certainly would like to revisit our next time through.

Ken and his family were very welcoming and helpful. We were just passing through and needed a place to set up our tent for the night, and this worked out perfectly. We fell asleep listening to the crickets and woke up to a rooster, with a chorus of coyotes at night.
