Enjoy the sounds of our hobby farm from dawn until dusk..... from goats to ducks to peacocks and everything in between. Lots of hiking and beautiful waterfalls within a one hour drive. Float down the river or dirt bike in the back country and come back to a cozy fire in the evenings. If you are traveling by car only we do have a travel trailer that can be used. We have horses, cows, donkeys, goats, pigs, chickens and ducks and everyone will be happy to meet you. There is great hiking behind the property and beautiful waterfalls within a 45 drive. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban. We have two livestock guarding dogs that take car of the property so unfortunately no pets please. Our property is located in Barriere, BC. Barriere is a special place with its own unique character. It is located in Kamloops Country in the Thompson Okanagan region of British Columbia. This is a small, friendly community, located only 45 minutes north of Kamloops, that has all the major conveniences of a city but offers a life of quiet, relaxed living. Our daughter loved the animals! We slept directly near the goats chickens and pigs which we could see from our RV window. The farm is lovely and we were welcomed very friendly by Doug and he showed us around. Unfortunately we only stayed here one night. Would love to return one day!

Ellison Funny Farm
Ellison Funny Farm is just that, a funny farm with a plethora of animals that are happy to come say hello. I couldn't even count how many critters call the farm home; there's everything from pigs, goats, donkeys, cows to peafoul. Thus, if you love animals, this is the place for you. As hosts Sheila and Doug have stated in the description, the site is best suited for RVs, with a concrete pad with electricity to post up at. I was staying in a tent, however, which is fine but certainly not ideal. Again, as stated, there's no water or bathroom on site, so again, probably stick to an RV with this one. Being a farm, the animals can be a bit chatty, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Hosts Sheila and Doug will be happy to chat with you should you have any questions. If you find yourself needing a stopover in Barrière for whatever reason, the funny farm is here for you.

Ellison Funny Farm
We visited the farm from the UK during a Canadian road trip. Sheila and Doug were excellent hosts. Sheila welcomed us with a tour of the farm and shared lots of local knowledge and great stories. We loved meeting all of the animals, particularly Maisie and Clifford the dogs! We got to spot peacock chicks and had a super peaceful nights sleep in our RV. Would definitely come again and highly recommend. Thank you both, Paul and Evie x

We loved staying at the Ellison Funny Farm! Sheila & her family were amazing hosts and getting to see & pet the animals was a highlight of our stay. There is a very nice fire pit that you can use and hiking trails near the property.
