Positives: Great wifi, pristine washrooms/showers, site 4 nice river view, friendly/helpful hosts who allowed us a late checkout so we could ride the bike trails before leaving, happily charged the trailer and filled up the water tank before heading back off grid. Slight negative: a little close to the road (but did not disturb sleep), sites have no privacy from each other, expensive (but our views are warped as we had been camping for free/$7.50/max of $35 per night till this point and this was our treat/regroup/check emails/refill/repower night)

Beautiful location along a creek near Sun Peaks resort. The porta potty and outdoor shower are super clean and have a cabin style feel. There were also string lights in the trees, a picnic gazebo, and hammocks. Great hosts! Will stay again.

Chris was a very friendly host; we booked last minute but he was able to accommodate us and was very welcoming. The sign for the campsite was a little tricky to find in the dark, but I’m sure during the day this would be easier. We enjoyed the outdoor shower too!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We absolutely loved our stay at Wendego Lodge! The sauna is a must-try — it made swimming so much more enjoyable, especially since the lodge is higher up and evenings can get chilly. (Tip: bring some warm clothes for the night!) The whole experience was so close to nature, peaceful and refreshing. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, and we have to say — their sourdough bread is delicious, a real treat! We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

The campsite is in a beautiful location, especially site 4 where we were, with a view of the river. Everyone has their privacy. Everything is very well maintained and the washrooms are always clean. We really appreciated the shower mat. Thank you for suggesting activities for us to do. We went rafting with Liquid Lifestyles Whitewater Rafting. They were very good and knowledgeable! And Clearwater is also a truly magnificent place!

Wow - what an amazing spot to be privileged to be camping on. Having your morning coffee by the river, watching the bald eagles across the river, the calmness of the area, and having the owners' horses keep us company - it can’t get better than that. Lindsay was super communicative, met us upon arrival, and shared great insight on the area and some fun activities. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend Lindsay’s place. Her husband was helpful in showing us how to get to our camp. The view from the site was beautiful - and the land is very private. You can’t see the other campers so it feels like it’s all to yourselves! I’d definitely go back.

Welcome to the cabins at Wendego Lodge on Tranquille Lake. Enjoy your 100% off-grid, rustic cabin in the middle of the BC wilderness. You are right on the lake with beautiful views and may see bald eagles, osprey and moose. This is an all-season property: swimming, boating, hiking and quadding in the SUMMER, hunting in the FALL, and ice fishing, snowmobiling (100s of km of trail right from your door) in the WINTER. All year long fish for natural rainbow trout and Kokanee. This is a rustic 100% off-grid experience! There is no electricity in the cabins and cold running water in the summer. SLEEPING: The cabin has two bedrooms separated by curtains from the living space and features: One queenTwo single bunksOne double futon HEATING/COOKING:There is a wood stove for heat and cooking and wood is supplied and cold running water in the summer months. A wood burning BBQ is available for use and a huge upright smoker for your fish haul (bring your own propane cylinder). BATHROOMS: There are no bathrooms in the cabin. Flush toilets and hot showers are available in the wash house steps away in the summer and in the lodge in the other months. ELECTRICITY: The cabins have no electricity. Please bring your own lanterns and flashlights. WATER FUN: The cabin is RIGHT ON THE WATER and in the summer we have dock for jumping off of or launching a boat. A very remote, tranquil log cabin fishing camp hand-built in the 1960's. Akehurst Lake Wilderness Resort is only accessible by ATV (snowmobile in winter) or by foot (a 9-minute walk from the parking lot). There is no public access to the lake so it is wonderfully private & peaceful. We offer 5 cabins in total with some areas suitable for tents. There is a day-lodge with a kitchen and eating area for guest's use, kayaks, row boats, and a paddle board free for use as well as a wood-fired sauna! The lake is excellent for swimming. It is feet-friendly, shallow, and has no sudden drop-offs. And if you like to hike, fish or BOTH then this is the place for you. There are many nearby lakes that are a short drive/ride and hike away! Akehurst Lake does not have cell service or wifi. Lights are made possible by a gas generator in the evening. There is only cold running water in the day-lodge sink which is seasonal and depends on if the creek is running. Guests should be comfortable being in the woods and aware that if no one else is there, they will need to light the stove and fridge and operate the generator if needed. **Packing List** - Bedding (sheets & blankets or sleeping bag. Pillow covers) - Extra pillows (we provide 2 per cabin. Ask if more are available before arrival) - Towel/face cloth - Dish cloth & Dish towels - Paper towel/napkins - Toilet rolls - Lighter for fires (if applicable). Let's be real...when booking a lakefront vacation in BC it's all about the lake and Timothy Lake will not disappoint. Timothy Lake is the perfect size, large enough to be unrestricted and offer great fishing, but small enough where you aren't always battling waves. As you venture from the shoreline you'll eventually loose site of the resort and soon find a public sandy beach, an uninhabited island, and a water channel connecting into Dempsey Lake. We've never heard that Dempsey is a great fishing lake, but it is a cool journey by paddle or small boat, and shows just how awesome the natural world is.....but watch for underwater branches throughout the channel cause a wrecked prop can make a good mad a bad mood - really quick. Located off the beaten track, Timothy Lake is seldom used by weekend warriors and is never too busy - making it great for swimming, water skiing, fishing or just floating around in one of those giant inflatable flamingo's...... if that's your thing. **There is a pet fee at $55/ per pet, you can add this to your booking at checkout.

You can go for walks or nap under the Aspens! Spring note - snow has been melting and the ground is unthawing - please feel free to send me a message if you have any question about the gravel road. It can be muddy and bumpy while the road awaits its winter repairs. We are one hour outside of Kamloops on a maintained public gravel road, however AWD or 4WD recommended during late fall to late spring. We have no minimum stay but highly recommend two nights. Do not use google maps to find our place - it can be very confusing. Google maps may show coming to our property from Savona but the easiest drive is from Kamloops. Please use the directions that get emailed to you just before your stay. To get here head to the Kamloops airport then follow Tranquille Criss Creek Road. We do not recommend traveling this road in the dark if you are not familiar with it! Wonderfully private! Come give our land some love as it recovers from the 2021 Sparks Lake forest fire. Acres and acres to hike, mountain bike and snowshoe. Surrounded by crown land there is no lack of space to explore and easy access to forest service roads to quad and bike. Many lakes near by for fishing and kayaking. Wildlife galore! There are wild flowers and plants so come forage and explore. Disconnect from the busyness of city life! Coming soon - guided hikes, foraging and information about local medicinal plants and a soon to be Apothecary on site! Detailed directions available after booking!
