Our 80 acre farm is set in a magnificent and unexpected BC landscape, full of fascinating historical and geological features. Nestled in the Deadman Valley, campsites set along the treed creekside await your relaxing rural retreat or exciting outdoor adventure. Expect to see our free range livestock out and about while you camp. :) While fully off grid, the campsites include homey touches to make it as comfortable as possible. A long table that seats 10, bbq, fire pit, outhouse and wash station are shared among the sites. WiFi and potable water is available at the barn. You are welcome to explore the farm and hiking trail that takes you up into the back country. Our barn-store has lots of seasonal farm fresh produce and handmade goods available. We also have more detailed tours and workshops if you are interested in learning more!

Nestled in the valley, beside the pristine Deadman Creek and open pastures, a rustic camping space awaits your relaxing rural retreat or exciting outdoor adventure. Our remote 80 acre farm is set within a magnificent and unexpected BC landscape, with fascinating historical and geological features dotting the surrounding area. The campsite is located on our working farm, but is tucked away along the creekside. Suitable for tents, cars and RV's. The terrain is flat pasture to pitch or park up and some trees for shade. There is a long table, bbq and fire pit, as well as an outhouse and wash station. If you need water or wifi please walk on over to the barn, the password is beside the door and the spigot is right on the front of the building. The farm livestock like the guardian dogs, horses, sheep, goats and pigs free range and may come to visit you. For this reason we ask that you secure and store your food. The Deadman River bisects the property and provides a refreshing swim during the summer. We also back onto crown land so there is access to trails for hiking. We are pet friendly but please be sure your dog is suited to a farm environment and you are prepared to keep them on leash and manage them. Firewood for outdoor campfires as well as a breakfast package are available as add ons. Our Barn Store is available for shopping by request, here you will find meat, produce and handmade products from our farm. We live on site so you can expect to see us out and about working through the day. Our livestock guardian dogs bark from time to time during the night. They alert us to predators and anything out of the ordinary. Apologies if they are vocal during your stay - they are doing their job!

Horse Hill Cabin

Booked 2 times
Cabin · Sleeps 4 · 2 beds · 1 toilet
The cabin is small but set up to tightly sleep 4, with a double bed loft and double sofa bed below. Off Grid = no power, running water or wifi. Fitted sheet, pillows, pillowcases and extra blankets are provided - but please bring your own sleeping bag/duvet. (We are limiting water usage for laundering due to our well water being low due to drought) Jug of fresh drinking water provided in the cabin. Refills available at the barn. The outhouse has a basic wash station sink to wash hands and dishes. No fridge or freezer - cooler provided. Outdoor propane BBQ and an assortment of utensils, dishes & cookware provided. Fire wood for outdoor fire pit is by donation, suggested $15 for full wood box. Campfires only permitted within local fire restrictions. Outdoor solar lights will turn on at dusk provided the sun has charged them and battery operated indoor lights and candles are provided - but good idea to bring some extra flashlights or headlamps. All windows have screens and we provide bug spray. Mosquitoes are typically at their peak June-July. Below the cabin is our farm where animals free range and our guardian dogs occasionally patrol Horse Hills’ hillside. It is possible they may come through to check you out - they are friendly but please pay no special attention or feed them as they are just on their rounds. You may also hear them sound off a few barks to let us know you are there, apologies for the noise, they take their jobs very seriously! :) If you are interested in adding additional guests as car or tent campers - just shoot us a message for the add on of $10 per night. The area is rural and remote with the nearest amenities being 45 min away, so please come prepared for an adventure of this nature! :)
