If you are bringing a fur baby, please let us know. It must be on a leash at all times. Please bring your fur baby's favourite blanket or bed to sleep on. We kindly ask that you keep your fur baby off the furniture and bed, and that you please not leave your pet unattended. The Portal has internet and spotty cell service. There is an outlet for charging, etc. Parking is on-site. Local food options include the "The Fish & Duck Pub" which is just a short walk away. We are located on a beautiful farm with lots of animals to see! Our property is in Black Creek, BC. We have one private site available for tent and RV/trailer campers. The site is level and grassy and it can accommodate vehicles up to 30ft in length. We provide a picnic table, wifi, and potable water. Campfires are permitted when there is no fire ban. We also have a new tiny home situated beside our field where the llamas, goats and sheep hang out, with a covered deck and firepit area. Black Creek is a small town located on the eastern shore of North Central Vancouver Island, home to stunning beaches and outdoor recreation. At nearby Saratoga Beach, the tide goes out for over a quarter of a mile, creating a hard-packed oceanfront playground perfect for children to safely explore. Miracle Provincial Park is close by with a picnic area overlooking the water and a series of lovely trails winding through lush forest. You can visit the Oyster River Hatchery, check out the seals and sea lions in Seal Bay Regional Park, do some saltwater fishing for salmon, or even rent a go-cart and race around the Saratoga Speedway, or just watch others do it.

Hi, my name is Dave. My family and I would like to welcome you to Nile Point, a secluded campsite located on 20 acres of privately owned, oceanfront property on Nelson Island, BC. I consider it the closest thing to paradise. The first you'll need to know about this property is that it's only accessible by boat. This is what makes the campsite so secluded and peaceful. Transportation to and from the island is included with your stay. The stunning 15 minute boat ride to and from Nile Point is one of the many things that makes this a truly unique experience. The second thing you'll need to know is that we offer TWO SITES on the property, a 10x16 TENT PLATFORM and a OCEANFRONT CANVAS TENT WITH ENSUITE (NEW!) with king size bed, in-tent ensuite bathroom and fully stocked outdoor kitchen with potable water, bar fridge and BBQ We have one canoe, one one-person kayak, a two-person kayak, and some paddleboards. Bring your own water exploring devices if you wish. Our beach is rocky (it ain't a sandy beach!), so bring your good water/rock shoes! This is a great place to stay and explore if you love the wild. It's off the grid, so if you want to unplug from devices and do nothing but relax or play in the ocean and explore the forest, it's perfect. That said, there is cell reception should you need it and a solar charger if you need to charge your devices. Egmont offers a pub, a fancy restaurant, and a charming convenience store with wi-fi. We can take you in to town during your stay for an additional charge of 50$ per direction. We've secured exclusive moorage at a private dock in Egmont. This is where you will park. We absolutely loved our stay at the lovely little cabin – it was all super comfy, and exactly what we needed. It was great to have the picnic table outside. We set up our propane stove and cooked ourselves some yummy dinner and breakfast. The raspberries were ripe in the garden and super tasty! Absolutely loved the earthship tour – thank you so much Susan and Tony for a wonderful stay and for sharing your home and your passion!

Camping here was such a joyful and relaxing experience! The hosts are so welcoming, caring and most helpful. We loved the location in the woods, close to beautiful trails and a quiet beach. Taking a tour of their place added inspiration and a new perspective. As an unexpected but meaningful bonus, I enjoyed an evening full of music, strumming along with friendly and talented people. Thank you Susan and Tony! I hope we will meet again next year.

Weekend Trip to Peacock Camping (Vancouver Island)

The tiny house was lovely and had everything we needed for comfort and cooking. There was a deck and dedicated large side yard that we loved having our coffee on. The menagerie of animals are a delight and the hosts were welcoming and friendly. As a host of an air bnb myself, I highly recommend this place and loved all the details and touches they’ve put into the tiny home. FYI the bed is a pull out couch bed.

This was exactly what we wanted and more! Andrew was a lovely host with an exceptional space. The deck was dreamy to read in and being inside looking out with all the windows was mesmerizing. Then walking to the lake was an absolute treat! We also had our two pups.

We had soo much fun staying in the tiny home! It was modern yet still rustic with the wood burning stove. Everything you could need to make meals. Places to sit and relax and look at the animals. Would absolutely come back :)

The Maple Cabin is such a sweet spot, nestled on Susan and Tony’s land with a lovely view of the trees and the sounds of songbirds. The bed was comfy and the space warm and inviting. Just a note, If you want more than a shared pit toilet, consider booking the other cabin with a bathroom.

1 night at Portal Retreat

I loved my stay at the portal! So close to the lake, perfect for a morning swim - close to town to get groceries/food, on a very quiet road (probably one of the best sleeps I’ve had in a long time). Host was kind and helpful! Would recommend for a couple or a solitary stay (would be a great place to use as a writing retreat, I will have to book again!)

Was greeted by Tony. One of the owners of the space was very courteous to show us our stay and the amenities around. Love that we were free to pick the raspberries to enjoy at our leisure. It was a comfortable stay at the Maple cabin with my wife and pup. Our tenting days are coming to an end. Having a cabin is helping the transition.

The camper was a very nice quiet relaxing place. The lake was just across the street and I enjoyed sitting on the dock, using their paddle board and taking in Sproat Lake.

We absolutely loved the cabin we stayed at. I would definitely recommend this place for a summer getaway. Andrew and his partner were amazing and so welcoming and make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The lake was like a 3 minute walk down and had incredible views plus was amazing to swim in. Would definitely come back here again thank you so much Andrew 😄

I had a great time at Kito and Fiona’s. The bus was cozy and cute and the rest of the campsite was lovely to walk around. I spent most of my time in town and exploring the area but it was a great place to get cozy at the end of the day. The bed was also very comfortable.

Our micro cabin in the woods was cozy and wonderful! We had everything we needed and the host was friendly and quick to respond to questions or needs. Everyday we were serenaded by at least a dozen different types of songbirds. No human noise other than the odd small plane. Complete peace and contentment. Hope to return.

We absolutely loved this quiet, cosy, beautiful spot amongst the trees. We had a lovely canoe in the morning on the still water, which is a very short walk. Would absolutely recommend!
