Welcome to Campsite in the Pines, a one acre lot surrounded by forest that you have all to yourself - located in beautiful cottage country, near the east gate of Algonquin Park. These are the Hastings Highlands! Within a 10 minute drive you'll find an abundance of lakes, including the beautiful Papineau Beach—a picturesque child-friendly and swimmable lake with shallow waters. It also offers breathtaking sunset views! The east gate to Algonquin Provincial Park is a scenic 30-minute drive, while hiking trails suitable for all skill levels can be found closer at Lake St. Peter Provincial Park. The campsite includes a canoe, 3 paddles and 3 life jackets. THERE IS NO WATER ACCESS from the site, so all watercrafts must be transported by vehicle. Ratchet straps will be provided to secure the canoe to your roof racks. The spacious campsite has pull-through access for trailers, and space for up to 3 tents. The site is surrounded by a variety of tree and plant species while the quiet nights encourage visits from wildlife, including grouse, deer, moose, and turkeys. The campsite comes with a fire pit, picnic table and a small shed for storing lawn chairs and other items. Tucked at the back of the property sits a comfortable and clean outhouse that was newly renovated and restored in Spring 2024. Hand sanitizer, air fresheners, and ventilation ensure the outhouse stays fresh. Garbage removal will be provided. Unlimited water for cleaning purposes will also be provided. Guests must bring their own potable water. The campsite is 5 minutes from small-town Maynooth, which is known for its unique vintage shops and selection of art studios and galleries and 30 minutes from Bancroft, the Mineral Capital of Canada. While the site is not directly connected to any trails, a short stroll down the road leads to an access to Papineau Creek. Nearby old logging roads make for easy and accessible on-foot adventures.
