FREE Firewood can be gathered on the forest floor or pay for on-site pre-cut wood. Outhouses are close to campsites....but not too close 💩
Port Rowan is only 12 minutes away by car, most amenities can be purchased only 1 minute away at the local Busy Bee gas station.
We are situated in the middle of a Recreation Hotspot! Our site is within 3 minutes of paddling the Big Creek, 3 to 10 minutes to several A+ hiking trails, 15 minutes to amazing freshwater beaches of Long Point and Turkey Point, and the area is abound with cycling trails, motorcycle routes, geocaching, boat launches (we have room here for your boat!), cider/wine tours, and more! We are the perfect basecamp for everything the Long Point Bay area has to offer
We have some great watering holes nearby like burning kiln winery, hounds of Erie and Charlotteville brewing company.

This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community.
It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night.
The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead.
There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company.
Here is what the land offers:
-Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023
-Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table
-Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The property backs onto a ten-foot swimming hole in an otherwise shallow part of the Saugeen River.

By a combination of good timing and good luck, I was able to make that dream come true and in the spring of 2014 I acquired this land with the hopes of building my dream water ski lake on it. 7 years later, we have a thriving water ski club and are constantly making improvements to the site. We now have decided to add some sites for rent to share this incredible property with others outside the water ski community.
Site #1 is a small cabin that sleeps 3 and site #2 is a small houseboat that has been converted to a bunkie.
Onsite activities include use of a canoe and paddleboard. Use of a kid's swingset and olympic trampoline. Swimming and fishing.

Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound.
We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land.
There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails.
Please note that the hipcamp map shows a large body of water on the property, as does google driving maps.
It is a marsh, not a lake.

There is however, a creek and pond, but don't bring your boat. :)
This is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" campsite, so please take all garbage when you leave.
There is no water or power, but there is an outhouse
Please note that in the winter months. There’s a $25 surcharge.
This is required for snow removal to access the sites that are at at least 1 km into the bush.
We are in a snow belt area and it is very difficult to keep the sites open in the winter.

This beautiful rustic cabin sits on a treed lot with privacy.
The cabin includes a double Murphy bed, we supply all bedding. A Cot is available for a third person. The cabin is air-conditioned, has a small sitting area, fridge, Keurig coffee machine, and heater for the cooler nights in the fall. Firewood available. Washroom facilities include a hot shower ( bring your towels) and composting toilet within steps of the cabin. There is a propane BBQ and a Gazebo.
There is a beach and a public park a couple minute walk from the cabin. There is a 100 km bike trail within a 5-minute bike ride from the cabin. We offer the use of bikes, and kayaks when available and weather permitted. Grocery stores, restaurants, and small shops, are all centrally located within ten minutes from cabin. While you are in town you can watch Lakers and Ocean Boats go through the canal
Within 15 minute is Ridgeway and Crystal Beach which offers concerts, beaches and activities.

There are four acres of woods to explore right beside Townsend Lake, a small, quiet lake perfect for canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. But once you get settled in, you may just want to rest and relax at the lake! It has its own beauty and serenity and is home to many bird species and other wildlife.

Throughout the property are numerous short, looping, walking trails that meander throughout the Sugar bush, pasture area, 3 season pond, and our farm animal "homes". These trails are perfect for short nature walks, where you'll experience natural wildflowers and plants, see and hear song birds, small animal wildlife and of course, farm life too.
We are also located on the edge of the Eastern Ontario "Dark Sky" Area, which means we have a very nice view from the edge of our pasture of the North Sky stars on a clear night, with very minimal light pollution.
Our varied collection of farm animals includes; lots of chickens, (including roosters who DO crow in the early morning hours), miniature goats, horses, a couple of barn cats, and a dog.

We absolutely loved how peaceful it was at the Cabin. We sat in the sun and just listened to the birds and wind through the trees - such a large space it was great for the dog and for lawn games. The host provides everything you need and more - the VHS and classic movies came in clutch on a rainy day. Its deep enough in the wooded areas to enjoy this serene environment, and the town with walking trails, lazy river and everything else you need is just a short drive away. Yes! The stars are big and beautiful - perfect place to bring a telescope if you have one!

2 nights at White Pines Cabin Retreat
We had an amazing stay at this campsite. The view was absolutely beautiful, and the constant sound of the flowing creek was incredibly soothing and calming. It really made the whole experience special.
All the essentials were provided, including a BBQ, heater, drinkable water, lamps, and plates, even bedding, though we were advised to bring our own. We ended up using our own bedding, but it was great to have everything available.
The hosts were fantastic, very welcoming, helpful, and easy to talk to. They even came by to meet us, which added a really personal touch to our stay.
Overall, it was the perfect combination of nature and a relaxing getaway. A great place to sit back, unwind, and truly enjoy the surroundings.

It was a short but sweet trip! Gillian and Jim are great hosts! The cabin is awesomely complete with lots of fun ready for family to use and enjoy! We are definitely going back this summer! We got a bit lost but it was our fault. We thought we are in Markdale but we were in Durham and so we misinterpreted the direction. Lol. But nevertheless, it was one of the fun part of adventure!

Brand new beautiful tiny house cabin with a plane surrounded by majestic trees and trails around the property. If the nights are cold you will need small pieces of wood for the stove. Bring your own blankets & pillows. As well as anything needed for cooking. We had a peaceful time during our stay.. although a cold 2 nights over March break.. it was a memory maker. Host was great and kept in contact. Would recommend to adults who can appreciate nature and surroundings.

This was my first hipcamp experience and I hate gotta say, it was amazing. Our host was super cool, he let us do our thing and if felt like we just had our own private gorgeous forest. The Plane is epic, the story of it is amazing, you can go watch a video I made about the history of the plane on YouTube, link below. This place really blew us away and we will certainly be going back. We even extended our stay an extra day.
It's peaceful, you can hear coyotes at night, and there's tons of room to explore. Definitely recommend for anyone, I brought my two kids, husband and my dog and the first night me, my 5 year old and my dog slept in the plane, it was awesome. Don't miss it on this place, it's so cool and so worth checking out. The Bunkie, no matter what season, is NOT COLD. Once you get that fire going in there, you gotta sleep with the windows open in February. It's that warm and nice.

3 nights at Backwoods Cabin Co
This made for a great spot to enjoy some peace and quiet away from it all! Close enough to town to grab something to eat and take a stroll but tucked away enough to feel lost in the best way. My wintry visit was exactly what I was hoping for. Knowledge on wood stoves is a definite must during the colder months but if you've got the skills then you'll be basking in the warmth it provides and loving every second.

Weekend Trip to Spring Arbour Magic Forest &Trails!
We came during the winter and stayed in the bunkie for the weekend, and it was so beautiful and the wood stove kept us warm all night! Getting there was very easy, they even made a track for us right to the bunkie since the snow had been bad the days prior. Felt very secluded and was a perfect weekend! Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Weekend Trip to Beneath the Stars - Haliburton County Escape
We had an absolutely amazing weekend here, and Vanessa provided everything we could possibly need.
The wood stove was easy to maintain and keep burning, and the locale was quiet and so gorgeous. We loved coming back from a day of activities to watch old movies on vhs.

Weekend Trip to Pine the Sky
This was an amazing stay. First, it was extremely last minute as we booked it 15 minutes before showing up. Despite that, Joan was very accommodating and set us up right away. It was a nice basement unit with everything we needed included heated floors in the bathroom. The property itself was also beautiful - though we didn’t see a lot of since it was winter. Overall Joan was a great host - friendly and responsive. Highly recommend

I rented one of the bunkies this weekend for the 2nd time and its amazing. The bunkie has a bunkbed as well as a easily adjusted heater that keeps you nice and toasty. Highly recommend coming here. Joan is wonderful and very accommodating as well.

Weekend Trip to Heavens Acres
We went during winter so didn’t get to fully enjoy the outdoors but site is really private and place next to it is definitely a nice touch. The cabin is a little small but it’s new and built nicely. Washroom was clean and built nice aswell
Rick had been great at communication and made sure snow path was clear for us to get in and out.
