The best camping near Kondalilla National Park guide

Overview

About

Embark on an adventure through Kondalilla National Park, a scenic treasure nestled in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Traverse walking tracks that lead you to majestic waterfalls, serene rock pools, and panoramic lookouts. Immerse yourself in the diverse ecosystems, from tall eucalypt forests to subtropical rainforests, and witness the rich wildlife that calls this park home.

When to go

The best time to visit Kondalilla National Park is during the cooler months from May to September. The waterfalls are most spectacular after the summer rains, but the paths can be slippery. Avoid the wet season when heavy rains can cause park closures and limit access to trails.

Know before you go

  • Check park alerts for severe weather damage or closures before planning your visit.
  • Ensure you pack out all trash, as the park is a refuge for vulnerable wildlife.
  • Domestic animals are not permitted, so leave your pets at home to protect the park's ecosystem.
  • Swimming is allowed, but be mindful of sunscreen and insect repellent as they can pollute the water.
  • For a smooth visit, familiarise yourself with the park's accessibility and safety guidelines.
