28km from Oxley Wild Rivers State Conservation Area · 2 sites · Tents, RVsHope Hill | 143-Acre Private Conservation Rainforest & Yoga Retreat – 4x4 & MTB
Hope Hill is not easy to get to, and that’s exactly why you’ll love it. If that excites your adventurous side, you’ve found the perfect site.
Set on 143 acres of private conservation land in the stunning Northern Tablelands rainforest, there’s no road noise—just ancient trees, huge skies, and bushland that seems to go on forever.
If you’re feeling sore after your hike, join us for morning yoga and meditation. Participation is completely optional.
The adventure starts on the driveway. You WILL need a low-range 4x4 to access Hope Hill. When it’s wet, or if you’ve packed your vehicle or caravan like you’re moving house, you WILL need a winch and proper recovery gear. Large caravans and low-clearance rigs won’t make it—this one is for true off-road adventurers.
Once you’re in, you’ve got the whole place to explore.
Bring your mountain bike—this is your own private riding playground. Ride straight from camp across steep rainforest tracks, old logging trails, creek crossings, and raw natural singletrack. It’s not groomed; it’s wild, technical, and completely private.
Then slow down and explore the bush. Hope Hill is alive with wildlife. Koalas are often spotted dozing in the gums, platypuses can be seen in the creek at last light, and our resident lyrebird is the best alarm clock in the bush—putting on a full concert every morning from around 6 am. You can’t snooze him!
This is off-grid, self-sufficient, leave-no-trace camping for people who want the real wild. Think campfire nights, star-drenched skies, sore legs, and big smiles.
FOR MOUNTAIN BIKERS:
BYO MTB or e-MTB. You’ll have 143 acres of private, natural terrain to explore. Expect steep, raw, loose rainforest riding—not a groomed bike park. Helmets are essential, and a repair kit is mandatory.
WILDLIFE:
This is protected conservation habitat. Please stick to existing tracks, keep noise to a minimum, and leave no trace.
ACCESS – PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BOOK:
• LOW-RANGE 4x4 ESSENTIAL. 2WD and AWD vehicles will not make it in.
• The track gets slick and steep in wet weather. A winch and recovery gear are highly recommended.
• Not suitable for large, low-clearance caravans, big camper trailers, or on-road vans.
• You must be experienced in 4x4 driving and self-recovery.
BRING:
Bring all drinking water, power supplies, food, and fuel. You must be fully self-contained and check current fire bans before your stay. There are no bins, so please pack it in and pack it out.
Hope Hill is for 4x4 drivers, mountain bikers, hikers, and wildlife lovers who want something wild, not manicured.
Please be aware that there may be road closures on weekday mornings.
The road is generally open in the afternoons, on Sundays, and on public holidays.
Please research current road closures before travelling, as we cannot be responsible for or predict closures implemented by the local shire.
Travelling on Sundays or public holidays may help you avoid potential road closures.
If the road is closed, many visitors stop for a bite to eat at the Bellbrook Hotel while waiting for it to reopen.
