Peaceful Camping at Orana – Nowendoc, NSW Camp on a spacious open paddock surrounded by nature and close by forest trails on a 700-acre private farm, located along Thunderbolts Way between Gloucester and Walcha in the quiet village of Nowendoc. Orana offers peaceful, self-sufficient camping with large, well-spaced sites – you’ll barely know anyone else is there. It’s the perfect spot to switch off, unwind, and reconnect with nature. Wander the forest and enjoy an abundance of native Australian wildlife including wombats, lyrebirds, wallabies, kangaroos, possums, echidnas, black cockatoos, and wedge-tailed eagles. Key Features: • Open paddock campsites with plenty of space and privacy • No amenities – BYO water, toilet, and power • Campfires allowed (subject to local restrictions) • Free firewood available around the property, or split wood available for purchase • Pet-friendly – dogs welcome if under control and kept away from livestock • Telstra is the only mobile network that works in the area • Local shop 20 minutes away (open weekends), Walcha is 45 minutes for full supplies In rare cases where weather or access conditions affect your booked site, we’ll offer an alternative site of similar style and privacy. Surrounded by native wildlife and country charm, this site is suitable for tents, swags, camper trailers, or caravans. Wake up to birdsong, wander the paddocks, or take a scenic walk to explore the nearby forest with beautiful trails winding through tree ferns and bushland. • Spring-fed dam – great for dog swims • Campfires allowed (firewood available to collect on-site) • Split wood and kindling available for delivery (additional fee – please ask) • Pets welcome off-lead, but must be kept strictly under control, especially around cattle • No amenities – BYO water, toilet, and supplies • Telstra is the only network with reception • Emergency help available at the main house on the property Wildlife sightings are common and may include grey kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, echidnas, possums, and a wide range of native birds. Fantastic hosts , very welcoming. Beautiful location with plenty of privacy. , Doggo had a great time wandering the field. Expect it to be cold during winter , but hosts can cater with firewood if you ask. Definitely saved as a go-to place again

Spring Dam
The hosts were so accommodating! Spring Dam is a must in the area situated at the lower half of the paddock. pick and choose where you want to set up. The cut wood load is worth the 20 dollars. Nice thick hard wood that burns hot and lasts for ages. For the owners i would put a sign on the gate to the 4WD trail a little bit of guess work but managed to find it eventually. Dog friendly! We had 4 dogs on our campsite and they loved the space to roam around rolling in the cow patches. Spring dam was perfect for the Easter break. Will definitely be back!

The campsite in on a beautiful property far away from main roads. Felt like a proper escape. Had to drive through several paddocks to reach the campsite, which wasn't ideal with a low clearance 2wd. However, the hosts made sure I got through safely by guiding us and removing any hazards (large stones, holes). We were able to scavenge for firewood around the campsite, and had a wonderful evening looking up at the stars thanks to the expansive view offered by the campsite, which looks out over the surrounding hills. Gorgeous part of the world.

Host was sensitive to my booking request, despite being overseas at the time of me, making it. hosts partner introduced himself and took the time to show us around the property. Amazing views, friendly hosts. I beautifully run well managed property and a credit to them. Views are spectacular.

Views were incredible. Property is immaculate. Hosts were excellent. Will be difficult to find a comparative experience elsewhere. Host came by with furry kids (3 dogs) which really engaged my son. Provided a tour of the views- absolutely spectacular. Such a wonderful experience- I wanted my son to experience country camping-> both of us could not provide enough stars for this camp out. This site has no amenities- you will be nourished by the views.

Spring Dam
Beautiful peaceful place. Roxane and Angus have a great farm and would highly recommend staying here. Angus is very helpful and loves having a chat if you want to otherwise his very happy to leave you in peace also. Our dogs loved it just as much as we did.

Angus is a very lovely host. He had wood on site, which saved us from having to go find it. The remote location was just wonderful and very private. A perfect place to put your tent up and enjoy the breathtaking views.

Angus is a great host and this is a great campsite. I was looking for a quiet place to camp, space to walk the dog and a camp fire. This had all I wanted. Lots of space for hours of walking, dams for the dog to swim, wildlife, tranquility, shade, views, lots of firewood. For a self sufficient camper this is a excellentplace. Very happy, will definitely be asking if I can visit again.
