Peaceful Camping at Orana – Nowendoc, NSW Camp on a spacious open paddock surrounded by nature and close by forest trails on a 700-acre private farm, located along Thunderbolts Way between Gloucester and Walcha in the quiet village of Nowendoc. Orana offers peaceful, self-sufficient camping with large, well-spaced sites – you’ll barely know anyone else is there. It’s the perfect spot to switch off, unwind, and reconnect with nature. Wander the forest and enjoy an abundance of native Australian wildlife including wombats, lyrebirds, wallabies, kangaroos, possums, echidnas, black cockatoos, and wedge-tailed eagles. Key Features: • Open paddock campsites with plenty of space and privacy • No amenities – BYO water, toilet, and power • Campfires allowed (subject to local restrictions) • Free firewood available around the property, or split wood available for purchase • Pet-friendly – dogs welcome if under control and kept away from livestock • Telstra is the only mobile network that works in the area • Local shop 20 minutes away (open weekends), Walcha is 45 minutes for full supplies In rare cases where weather or access conditions affect your booked site, we’ll offer an alternative site of similar style and privacy. Wake up to birdsong, wander the paddocks, or take a scenic walk to explore the nearby forest with beautiful trails winding through tree ferns and bushland. • Spring-fed dam – great for dog swims • Campfires allowed (firewood available to collect on-site) • Split wood and kindling available for delivery (additional fee – please ask) • Pets welcome off-lead, but must be kept strictly under control, especially around cattle • No amenities – BYO water, toilet, and supplies • Telstra is the only network with reception • Emergency help available at the main house on the property Wildlife sightings are common and may include grey kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, echidnas, possums, and a wide range of native birds.
