Wot Doin is a great weekend on our beautiful property 20 minutes north of Bulahdelah. The vibe is warm, friendly, and delightfully rustic with everybody connected in some way. Most people stay on site in tents, vans, cars, or swags. Camp sites will be on a 'first-in, first-choice' basis. Bringing your own water is recommended as there is only limited water available (and it's a long walk from where you will be camping), and you can't have too many torches. Camp stove, kettle, and cooking implements along with lightweight camping chairs are a good idea. Arriving early is also a good idea. The music starts at 11:00 am on Saturday. There is limited mobile reception. The usual principles of leave no trace apply. Bring everything you need - leave nothing behind. It's a manicured rural property so sorry, no pets or open fires. A beautiful hilly 90 acre working farm in the hinterland above The Great Lakes (Myall, Smith , Wallis Lakes), 30 mins from Seal Rocks, just 10km off the M1 about 20 minutes from Bulahdelah. You do need to be completely self sufficient and to respect our pristine environment and take all rubbish away with you. Food scraps we are happy to share with the feathered flock. The property offers privacy and magnificent views of rolling green hills and ancient trees and a huge dam with pontoon for swimming. Great stars on a clear night. Sit, relax, and enjoy the magnificent views or utilise the surrounding forests, beaches, lakes, farmers markets, and local winery. You'll be camping near a herd of horses. There's also the Pet pig "Barney Rubble" and ponies / ducks/ chickens/ talking parrot to entertain little people. Firewood can be purchased when you arrive for CASH for $20 per load and must be collected from the house upon arrival. Eggs also are available - $8 CASH on arrival. Lemons, Limes and chilli's are free. We limit bookings for your privacy. It is a hilly property so you need adequate power and 4WD to access the higher sites, particularly if towing and after extended wet periods. Message if you are unsure.. 4WD are most suitable for this property. Dogs are welcome and are fine to be off-lead provided they don't chase horses and are friendly. They must be on a lead near the house around the free-range chooks etc. Campers should be fully contained. Bring all, take all, no footprint camping. Within 3 hours drive of Sydney and around an hour from the Barrington National Parks, Newcastle, Maitland, Forster and Nelson Bay, it makes it the perfect destination for a weekend getaway! We are offering 6 beautiful, partly shaded, camping sites along the pristine Upper Karuah River. All sites are separated for privacy and are all right on the edge of the river. There are plenty of opportunities for bird watching, hiking, swimming, kayaking, fishing (in summer), star gazing or just relaxing. All sites are site only and no toilet or shower facilities are provided. What a wonderful Hipcamp. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Riverview site Willowbank. There was just enough room to spin our 18ft 6” van around to face the river, spacious site with a fire drum. The river was chilly but still managed a dip, a short walk from site where the water flows over the rocks. Jo and Ian are wonderful hosts along with the dogs, although Max is a little naughty 😂. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful property, well maintained. Campsites right on rivers edge. Spacious and secluded camp sites. The stars at night are spectacular. Dog friendly. We absolutely love Willow Bank. Can not speak highly enough of hosts Jo & Ian, friendly, extremely helpful and down to earth.

Another beautiful relaxing stay. We love staying at Willowbank, 2nd time on the Old Cedar Site. Beautiful flat site, right next to the river, loads of room, quiet feels like you'rein the middle of nowhere. The walk up to the top of the hill has amazing views and is a great place to relaxe around the fire. Wonderful hosts . Cant wait to go back in October 😃

Weekend Trip to Willowbank

We spent 3 nights at Willowbank and honestly it felt like stepping into a proper laid back Aussie getaway with a host straight out of a crocodile Dundee movie. Ian is a legend of a bloke, quick to tell a bloody good story and had us laughing for ages and behind every legend is an equally lovely wife, Jo was warm, welcoming and made us feel right at home. We camped at "The Rapids", right by the water, peaceful, and perfect for switching off from our devices and busy work schedule, although I found it helpful that you still get service in case of emergency. Waking up to the sound of the river and wildlife was beautiful, fishing and reading down by the river by day and campfire at night with wood bought onsite just adds to the ease of staying at Willowbank. If you're after a relaxing, no fuss camp trip with beautiful rolling hill views, river sounds and a whole lot of character and charm then this is the spot. My family and I will be back !

A beautiful location (I stayed at “Paperbarks”) that feels secluded but is only 10 minutes from Stroud. Huge campsite, beside the river, and large enough to have a choice of a sunny spot for the solar panels, or shady area in the cool. I loved it. Good mobile reception too. Easy vehicle access. Great hosts.

Beautiful farm offering great spacious sites - especially when you’re lucky enough to have the space to yourself as we did! Gracious eucalypts amidst gently rolling pastures with abundant wildlife. Easy communication. Highly recommend.

Nice place, very close to the beach, but shame the beach wasn’t dog friendly. Lots of kids as expected, but if that doesn’t bother you great place to go. Would go back again.
