This spot is for people that think that they are the only ones left in the world. Once at the top, its yours to live in peace and quiet. 56 acres of undulating hills covered with native bush land, with many cleared sites for you to set up camp. If you like an adventure then this camp site is for you! 3 of the campsites are accessed by 4WD only (tent camping only) and the two 1000ft mountain sites are a 19 degree steep drive up hill to the penthouse summit. Campers are welcome to have a campfire, there is plenty of timber on the ground that you can collect or bring your own. There are some great bush walks you can enjoy, including down to the creek (about a 40 min walk). The creek is picturesque with lemon trees and peach trees along the edge while in season.   There is also a 10 month of the year  30 metre high waterfall (depending on rain fall this waterfall can vary from massive water to  slow water) and another seasonal waterfall. There is also a dam for swimming with a boat and fresh mountain spring water constantly flowing into it from an inch and a half poly pipe. There is also camping down by the river for off road self contained  4x4 campers and those with a tent.  Having a winch is good insurance for the road back out of the creek camp site if it has been raining. The water in the creek is safe to drink with no filter needed.  The creek is running and crystal clear and very private.  If it has been raining then it is not possible to make the climb.  If you are in a 2 wheel drive RV/ Motorhome there is one site that is all grass accessible in the dry weather. Plenty of drinking water is also available.  All campers MUST HAVE their own portable toilet. If no portable toilet you can purchase one from many camping stores at a reasonable price before coming.  Doing number 2 in the bush is totally unacceptable. Because this is a leave no trace camp site we do ask you to take all trash with you when you leave as well.  There is no council rubbish collection in this area. We respect our beautiful paradise and we know you will appreciate it also.

Where we stayed wasn't suitable for caravans if wet as to slippery. These sites should only be for tents or swags. If you like hiking and steep climbs, this is a great spot.

Unfortunately not as Expected
Alan was very accommodating and found us another site when we couldnt get to our original site due to rain. Unfortunately we only spent one night due a leaky tent and constant rain. We were also very disappointed to discover alot of leaches at our site and it was not as private as expected

Creek camping with a energetic pup!
Wow! What an amazing spot. We camped near the creek and loved the privacy, only us in the whole area! It was very private. We had a puppy and she loved the freedom! Beautiful creek. Stunning walks and long cycles along the dirt road. A friendly warm town just minutes away. Alan and Linda was super hosts. Warm freshly baked biscuits and a helpful hand ! We will be back! Thank you For sharing your property with us!

Relaxing and Peaceful
Alan was super helpful and showed us around his beautiful property and we ended up changing out mind on camp site from our original pick. We braved the drive to stay at the “Top of the World” site on the very top of the hill. Had the place to ourselves. Fantastic views and look forward to staying again.

Alan's property is a place I would love to live. On arrival, we were greeted by Alan, and he happily showed us around his property, After Alan and my lovely wife highly advised us not to drive up the hill as we were towing a 2 Tonne camper behind a Toyota Prado, Both me and my mate drove on up enjoying the spectacular mountain views and admired the winch cable marks left behind in the trees from fellow Ranger, Amarok and Nissan drivers. Once on top of the hill we setup camp for 4 days and enjoyed, the sunsets, sunrises and rain while over looking the mountains views. Down the bottom of the hill is a beautiful water fall where you can take a shower after couple days of camping, Bloody fresh and it feels like you are getting washed down by a pressure cleaner, "hope you got a good water filter Alan a I had a shower Fart" This place is beautiful and I highly recommend it and if you know how to not listen to the wife, camp up top, it's worth the argument.

Beautiful location with plenty of space. From the moment Alan met me at the gate I felt so welcome. Lots of walking in the area. The country road was peaceful. The creek was fresh and clean to swim in and Alan's new dam was great for a dip too. Thanks Linda for the great chat and produce exchange. You both were so lovely and number 1 hosts . Will visit soon. Oh and my dogs had a great time too.

YOU HAVE TO STAY HERE
This place is amazing!! Alan is one of the kindest, most interesting and passionate hosts we’ve ever Had. He spent the day showing us around and helping us get our 4x4S out when we got stuck due to severe rain. The waterfall is amazing. Campsites are beautiful. Hosts are one of a kind. You must visit here!! It’s truly magical.

Beautiful, scenic & well maintained
View on property was gorgeous from all directions, at which ever site you pick. There was a number of different camp sites that Alan showed us too. As we had a rooftop tent, and the track was too muddy to drive up, we were unable to stay at the camp site at the top of the property. We stayed in the middle bottom paddock, and had sufficient shade under the big tree and there was a beautiful breeze through the site. All of the four sites are private from each other. The creek running through the bottom paddock was clean, easy to access and nice for a sit and chill. We didn't get a chance to try swimming in the damn, but it's an awesome set up. Really appreciated how friendly and helpful Alan was too!

Top of the World is stunning! Alan's land is quite vast, and he has found so many magical pockets for campsites. You could stay for a month and be in a new and completely different spot every few days! Alan kindly gave us a tour in his 4wd buggy so we could pick out the place that was right for us. Thank you Alan, we look forward to coming back!

My stay was beautiful and relaxing. We camped close by to the creek and hiked to the waterfalls on Alan’s property. It was nice to disconnect and spend time in nature. Alan and his family are very welcoming and we will definitely be back again.

Amazing hosts & beautiful campsite
We had a wonderful time at Top of the World. Alan and Linda were excellent hosts who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. We camped by the creek (which was about 20m from our campsite) and spent a lot of time relaxing in our camp chairs on a dry part of the creek bed. Simply enjoying the natural surroundings. The bush was alive with birdsong and the bird ID book received a good workout - from a nesting pair of of spangled drongo’s to whip birds courting, it was all very entertaining. There were dragonflies of all colours, butterflies and little green frogs as well. The neighbours cows even came down to say hello from across the creek. At night we watched in anticipation of spotting a platypus. But, not this time. We did however see plenty of other aquatic life. Including a very inquisitive freshwater eel. All in all, it was a very relaxing couple of days beside crystal clear water which allowed us to dip our toes during the heat of the day.

Breathtaking!!!
Our stay was just magnificent. Alan and Linda are such lovely hosts, with a personal tour of the property and some Home baked cookies. We had the pleasure of staying two nights here. Night 1. We stayed on top of the world, with 360 views over the mountaintops, and a lovely walk down to the waterfall. Night 2, we decided to camp by the creek, fresh running water, and fireflies at night. Would highly recommend. Beautiful spot!

A spot for those craving silence
A special spot for for those craving a little silence away from phones and people. We stayed beside the creek with plenty of rock hoping and fresh water bathing. At night the creek comes alive with fireflies (glow in the dark ones) platypus and tiny fish so take your torch for the kids to explore. A perfect spot for a large fire and some spectacular star gazing. Alan was a wonderful host leaving you to enjoy his amazing property and ready to help out wherever needed. We will definitely keep this little secret spot on the list for places to escape the world.

Mountain Magic
Before we got there Alan, our enthusiastic host, told us camping on his 56 acre slice of paradise would be an adventure and he was not kidding. We wanted to take our compact camper up to the ridge line that we had seen in the site gallery and the only thing separating us from that was a very steep gravel track that we suspect enjoyed a previous life in a 4x4 park. It was not long before low range and diff locker were engaged as we navigated up the increasingly steep track through a couple of interesting pinches that maxed out at a 20° grade. Alan was ahead the whole way guiding us to the top which was well worth the tricky transit. The top of the ridge had been freshly slashed and we parked up next to the fire pit and were blown away by the glorious views across to the Border Ranges and really did feel like we were at the top of the world. We spent the afternoon setting up and enjoying the simple pleasure of spending time in a place like that without another soul in sight. The sun dropped quickly and we enjoyed a sunset and the 360° panorama that was quickly turning into a star field right before our eyes.. who needs Netflix. The fire was cranking in no time and a beautiful evening followed finishing off a great day. In the morning we got away early to explore the nearby towns of Kyogle and Nimbin before heading out to the coast tracking around the spectacular Mt Warning. The scenery in the area is fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing it on a perfect blue winters day. On our return we found the track up was a cake walk without the trailer on the back and wasted no time getting into happy hour and enjoying our second sunset on the mountain. In the morning we took our time not really wanting to leave that incredible spot and really appreciate the late checkout. We both agreed that this was the best You/Hipcamp experience we have had and that Alan and Linda were the most generous and interesting hosts we have met. So if you are looking for a special spot for your next sneaky getaway do yourself a favour and check out what life is like at the top of the world.
