Slice of Solitude

3 sites · RVs, Tents40 acres · Windber, PA
Our property was once an overgrown field that in the past was strip mined for coal. This area was purchased by a local church congregation and has been transformed into a fun, peaceful picnic/recreation area. We enjoy using this area for picnics, birthday/graduation parties, family reunions and other fun, meaningful events. We have even had a few weddings here. Recently we decided that we want to give more people the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful, serene area. We hope you choose to come and relax and enjoy a "Slice of Solitude"Learn more about this land:Rustic camping area not far from town. We have a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, children's playground, tether ball, corn hole. A walking trail, running water, electricity ( we do now have one 30 amp outlet with more to be established in the future), a fire pit, and a few other options. A nice quiet area.

On property we have bathrooms, hot showers, and a recreation hall with free ping pong, board games, and billiards. For a fee, we also have firewood, electricity, and a large event tent for rent. Campers must be less than 25 feet. Generators are not allowed. Music should not reach outside your own site after 9pm. There are no water hookups. Vehicle noise is audible from route 350, especially on Friday afternoons. Noise is diminished at sites further back from route 350. Tent camping along the Yough river.

10 sites · RVs, Tents22 acres · Perryopolis, PA
READ BEFORE BOOKING. WE STRICTLY ENFORCE ALL RULES. YOU MUST ADHERE TO ALL RULES OR YOU WILL BE REMOVED FORM PROPERTY BY STATE POLICE. All the sites are located with in walking distance next to the famed boat rental Hazelbakers! Our sites are on or near the Yough Riverbank. Although the train runs near by a few times a day, it will hardly be noticed while you are enjoying the beauty of the area. The Allegheny Passage bike trail runs nearby across the river. You can access it using the Layton bridge that crosses the river over our property. We have a very strict no asshole policy. If you are an asshole or plan to bring an asshole with you please go camp at the KOA. Camping is not an all night or two day tailgate party, hooping it up, drinking or doing drugs all night on your weekend off with 20 of your friends. Camping at our sites should be calm and relaxing. Other campers and people in general should not have to hear you, your music, or your fun and you should not have to hear theres. We have a strict no generator rule, no guns, no fire works, no amplified or loud music and again no assholes. Your neighbor may not like your music. If you must listen to music use head phones. Please do not leave any thing at the site when leaving and leave it better than you found it. The boat rental store sales snacks, ice and bait. It does not sell wood or large water bottles. Campers should bring water. We do not have showers but do have running hot and cold water in the change rooms at the boat rental. Port-a-pottys are near by. Please use them. Do not poop in the woods and leave your shit paper laying there. That's gross.

Sleepy Hollow Campground

22 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents5 acres · Grantsville, MD
This property and farm has been in our family for 3 generations. In 1964 my grandfather started the campground due to limited camping at New Germany. My father tells stories of it being filled with guests all summer long! Over the years there was few upgrades and now it's in need of a facelift. Landscaping, electric upgrades and bathhouse remodels were completed Spring 2021. We will continue to renovate in phases it's been a labor of love, but you can still see the beauty of this rural location and enjoy the peace and quiet. Hope you enjoy your stay. Lots of trees, shade and nature. It's located near New Germany State Park, 1.5 miles by car, less than a mile by foot. The state park has a lake and hiking trails. Garrett County has so much to offer, waterfalls, lakes, hiking, skiing, Amish gifts, history, fresh air, beautiful scenery. The campground was first started in 1964 by my grandparents, we are currently completing renovations in phases.

Nature Works Farm

1 site · Lodging35 acres · Homer City, PA
We are a small scale farm and nursery specializing in a wide selection of garden plants including flowers, herbs, vegetables and hanging baskets. As part of our commitment to local agriculture, we also produce and sell seasonal produce, cut flowers and eggs, as well as raise a variety of livestock. We love to share information and open our farm to others, so we frequently do tours and teach classes on a variety of subjects related to what we do on our 35 acre farm. Learn more about this land:This cozy cabin is nestled next to a stream on our 35 acre farm. Make yourself at home in nature with 2 beds, a comfy pull-out couch, covered front porch and a reading desk and generous dining table. This small cabin is great for those wanting to experience nature and farm life with a little more comfort and amenities than tent-camping.  We are a chemical-free farm and nursery.  Our grazing livestock may be visible in nearby fields, as the cabin is situated in the midst of our small, diversified working farm.Things to do nearby: Yellow Creek State Park is located 7 miles down the road offering hiking, canoeing, swimming, fishing and much more! The Ghost Town Trail is accessible via the Heshbon trailhead, just 5 miles down the road. A scenic biking and walking trail along the Blacklick Creek. The quaint town of Indiana, PA is just a 15 minute drive from the cabin. A college town providing great restaurants, coffee shops, bars, breweries, and a farmers market.  Other nearby attractions include the historic town of Punxsutawney, the quaint Amish town of Smicksburg and the charming town of Ligonier.Additional Things to Note: The cabin is located at Nature Works Farm and Nursery, a small, diversified farm where we live and work. You can see our home from the cabin and will most likely see us out and about. We will give you the most privacy as we possibly can, but we are also open to interacting with you if you'd like to learn about and tour the farm.  One hour informational tours are available upon request for an additional fee. We have cows, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks that are mostly in fenced pastures, however, the chickens and ducks tend to wander where ever they'd like :) From April-July, our greenhouses are open to the public as a retail plant nursery, so expect to see and hear cars and people coming and going from our main parking lot, located about 100 yards uphill from the cabin. Additionally, the cabin is situated about 200 yards from the main road, so car and truck traffic can be heard.  A private composting toilet is located just outside the cabin. Sawdust is provided, just add a scoop of sawdust before and after you go! Pillows and linens are provided for all beds.  There is no electricity or running water, however LED battery lights are situated around the cabin and there is a garden hose available to use for rinsing hands and dishes. In the event of freezing temperatures, water will not be available. There is very limited cell phone service on our farm and no access to the internet at the cabin.
