Choose any spot to set up camp, but our favourite is next to the beautiful lake-like dam. Guests are required to be self-sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. It's only 2km to Trafalgar town centre and 5 KM to Moe. Tarra Bulga National Park and the magnificent Wilson's Promontory are easy day trips for some of the best hiking in the state. We are a 16-acre hobby farm. We run about 30 sheep who are looked after by "James" the pet Alpaca. We also have a newly established seasonal wetland project in the making. Woodside Gardens offers private campsites for guests to choose from, located among natural bush of tea tree and gum trees. Stockyard Paddock is located at our property called "Tarrawonga", situated on the outskirts of Port Albert. Two minutes drive to the town centre and 10 minutes to nearby Yarram. Tarra Bulga National Park and the magnificent Wilson's Promontory are easy day trips for some of the best hiking in the state. We are a 16-acre hobby farm. We run about 30 sheep who are looked after by "James" the pet Alpaca. We also have a newly established seasonal wetland project in the making. Just sit back and enjoy the local Kangaroos and abundant birdlife. Campers have access to a level and grassed, four-acre cleared open dry paddock with a treed outlook. Access is good for caravans and other RVs. You need to be self-contained, with your own camp toilet. There is water and a dump point just two minutes drive up the road. No generators please. Port Albert is steeped in history and a visit to the maritime museum is absolutely worth the time. The Alberton Hotel provides a courtesy bus if you're after a counter meal and drinks. Tarra Bulga National park is close by and provides some magnificent walks. Wilson's Promontory is a great day trip. And of course, there is always the famous Port Albert Fish and Chip shop. Well-behaved dogs welcome on leash.

What a beautiful place. Birds galore and there are apparently platypus in the creek. Gorgeous and well kept little reserve obviously loved by generations of people. Gifted to the public by a visionary from long ago, it’s testament to what a little love and respect can do for the environment. Beautifully maintained but wear your thongs, sandals, shoes as there are one or two three corner jacks around.

3 nights at Hazelnut Valley Farm Stay

We had a relaxing 5 nights camping at Coopers Corner (fruit trees). This was our second trip here and will be coming back again. It’s quiet and peaceful here, loved the sound of the river and the birdsongs. All the camping sites are well kept with fire pits and most of them have river access. There are also hiking trials in the hill opposite the farm which was handy.

The campsites are scattered across lovely gently rolling fields and all have a fire pit and a view (either down the valley or across the dam). We had Site 2 looking over the dam which was great and must be stunning in summer and if the dam is full. Access is easy and well sign posted.

We were fine but the people next door had a new group camp that close that had to move their swag . Unfortunately some people have no respect or regard for personal space ! Can imagine would be crazy busy at Christmas/January holidays.

Fruit Trees was a great spot at the Hazelnut Nut Farm - well maintained, close to the creek, large grassy area. Access was a little tricky due to quite a bit of rain - especially towing a caravan. We had a campfire every night - wood is available for purchase onsite 15kg bag for $22 but don’t buy it as an added extra on the Hipcamps site - they charged a $9 service fee! Which really pissed me off. Otherwise, a lovely place to spend a couple of days.

What a great place! So clean, plenty of space for the 9 of us and privacy between camp-sites. The hut is perfect for extra room if needed to prepare food, has a large picnic table to sit & eat or shelter from the rain. With the forest across the road and Port Welshpool a quick bike or car ride away, this camp really has everything. From riding along tracks to walking the beach or long pier, very relaxing for a short or long stay. Hosts are easy to communicate with and give great directions...camp-site is extremely easy to get to with a caravan or trailer. Thanks so much Steff & Dylan, we all appreciated the stay in your little slice of heaven 🤗
