Our farm is located in Carrajung Lower, Central Gippsland where is 2.5 hours drive from Melbourne.
As the name reveals we live on a small ridge with at least 3 pairs of Kookaburras living around our house.
With a 52 acre property we run miniature sheep to keep our land green and produce ethically raised 100% grass fed lamb.
Each site has three levels. The top level is for vans and/or tents; the middle level is for tents only and the bottom level is the fire pit area. Each level is quite narrow so camper vans that flip out to the side and annexes are likely not to fit.

With a large covered deck connected to the front of the tiny house, you don't have to go anywhere to witness Wedge-tailed Eagles, Black Cockatoos, King Parrots, Rosellas and Kookaburra to name a few. Or wombats scurrying into their warren in the embankment just below the tiny house. Or the wallabies that hang out in the front paddock. If you're a fit walker, you can hike up to the back of the property that borders an old pine plantation now full of regrowth where herds of deer call it home. At the right time of day, you're likely to see all kinds of water fowl in the damns around the property. And if you're lucky, our 3 alpaca will let you photograph them as they stare you down, but no cuddles for these guys -- they're there to keep the foxes away. Night time is magical. With no light pollution, it's a stargazers paradise and on a still evening you'll hear boobooks, possums and frogs. The popular tourist village of Yarragon is 16km down a winding unsealed road one way, while the larger town of Mirboo North is about the same distance going the other way. Mount Worth State Park is 13km from our property and Lyrebird Forest Walk Regional Park is 26km just outside Mirboo North. While there's a lot to do around these parts, my guess is you won't want to leave the property.

Sites 1 - 2 situated in a 4 acre paddock on the main farm. Perfect for small camper vans, roof top tents and motor homes.
Site 3-5 situated on part of a 7 acre paddock with views of the hills and of the kangaroos that come onto the paddocks of a night out of the Alberton West State Forest. This site is perfect for larger vans, RV's, camper vans, roof top tents, motor homes.

As the name reveals we live on a small ridge with at least 3 pairs of Kookaburras living around our house.
With a 52 acre property we run miniature sheep to keep our land green and produce ethically raised 100% grass fed lamb.

If you're a fit walker, you can hike up to the back of the property that borders an old pine plantation now full of regrowth where herds of deer call it home. At the right time of day, you're likely to see all kinds of water fowl in the damns around the property. And if you're lucky, our 3 alpaca will let you photograph them as they stare you down, but no cuddles for these guys -- they're there to keep the foxes away. Night time is magical. With no light pollution, it's a stargazers paradise and on a still evening you'll hear boobooks, possums and frogs. The popular tourist village of Yarragon is 16km down a winding unsealed road one way, while the larger town of Mirboo North is about the same distance going the other way. Mount Worth State Park is 13km from our property and Lyrebird Forest Walk Regional Park is 26km just outside Mirboo North. While there's a lot to do around these parts, my guess is you won't want to leave the property.

In the event of fires in surrounding areas, it may be necessary to cancel a future booking and or evacuate the site at short notice, this will be reimbursed by Hipcamps. This is a great location for family camping. It is well supported in terms of water, nearby toilet, and even a room with games for the kids, fridge, microwave, kettle. What more could you want? The kids especially will enjoy having a look at all the lovely animals on the property and the hosts are very gracious and attentive.

Such a great private camping spot on Sue and Chris’s property. We were a group of 9 adults, 2 kids and a dog, and it was perfect. Sue was a great host and made the extra effect to ensure we were comfortable and the kids were happy (even letting them sit on Amy the horse). Great communication too. Highly recommend.

We love staying at Whispering Gums. It's always lovely and peaceful. Just sitting by the beautiful lake is very calming.
The two cows and the horse came for a sticky beak when we were having a fire. It was very cute.
Sue is a fantastic host and communication is great.
We highly recommend staying at Whispering Gums.

This was a great farm stay for our family. The host were really engaged and welcoming with including the kids with feeding the animals and showing us around the farm.
A small camp ground but did not feel crowded with other guest there. The camp kitchen facilities was a nice touch too,

A really beautiful, peaceful spot. Very quiet overall, with just the occasional car passing, and otherwise lovely natural sounds. The paddock is open and calm, with lots of shade along the treeline, perfect for sitting, switching off, and relaxing.
It was ideal even for just one night to reset and recharge. I’ll definitely come back.
