Apart from the bulls, cows and calves there are also miniature horses, alpacas and chickens to interact with. Local wildlife includes kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, emus, goannas and maybe the odd koala. Overhead can be seen many birds including eagles, parrots, water birds while the RAAF Roulettes regularly practice their routines. There are no amenities here, campers must be self contained and leave no trace. Pets welcome, but please ensure they are under control as there are cattle on the property.

Woodside Gardens offers private campsites for guests to choose from, located among natural bush of tea tree and gum trees. Guests must be mostly self contained and must take all waste/rubbish with them on departure. We have a new toilet available for our campers but not showers Fire are allowed as long as the fire ban guidelines are followed. We have fire pits available for you to use free of charge. There is also plenty of wood around the place that you are welcome to pick up. A small saw is recommended to cut up some of the bigger pieces. Just a 5 minute drive to the magnificent 90 mile beach and plenty of bush tracks to go walking or bike riding. The township of Woodside is just up the road has a service station/Post office/shop. 15 minutes to township of Yarram and 35mins to Sale city. Entrance to our property is off Stringy Bark Lane. We loved our stay at Leanne’s. The views over the wetlands were unreal, our spot was tucked away so it felt really private and Leanne was really welcoming and brought us everything we would need to get the fire pit going. It was great seeing her beautiful cows grazing and kangaroos on the horizon. There is a block with a toilet and shower in which is a bit of a walk away from the camping spot. It didn’t matter to us that it was a bit of a walk but something to bear in mind if anyone has accessibility concerns. It was one of the highlights of our trip and we would definitely recommend!

Had a fabulous long weekend. The site was large and by the river which was very relaxing. There was a great sized firepit where we enjoyed evening fires. Lisa and Bernie are great hosts. We did a couple of trips into Walhalla and had a great meal at the Erica pub.

Beautiful spot right on the river and all to yourself. Dogs can be off lead. Bit tricky to find, quick call to Adrian got us sorted. If coming off Stoney Creek Rd you need to take the left turn as soon as you see #69 and go up past #67 till you get to the Road Closed. That's the road in, open/close that gate then head down. One track is steeper than the one with some rutts. We took the rutted option, slow and steady you will be fine. We got in and out in our 2WD towing our camper trailer NO ISSUES even after having had 15ml of rain the day/night before we left. Awesome spot, will definitely be back! Thanks Adrian

Weekend Trip to BBQ's of the World

It was nice and peaceful. We enjoyed listening to the creek. Handy having the drop toilet also. We ended up in a different spot to the one we booked ( booked site 7 ended up at Miners) due to it being very wet and muddy and the new spot was much more suitable for us with our caravan. Little confusing when we got there, no one was there and no instructions. Trent did answer his phone and direct us when we called and called back later to check we were ok. We appreciated the later “checkout” Trent allowed us to have so that we had time to dry off our stuff, unfortunately it rained the whole time we were there. Also appreciated the fire wood bought down by Trent, we tried to have a fire but the weather wasn’t obliging. We would stay again.

Plenty of space at Cooper's Corner (bridge). We could here the sound of the creek flowing, almost therapeutic some what? Magnificent bird life at this hipcamp. Certainly worth the trip and what wonderful stay. Totally recommend camping at Hazelnut Valley Farm Stay.

3 nights at Forge Creek Farm Stay

Awesome views almost 360 degrees over surrounding sweeping hills and lovely tree lines of neighbouring properties. Nigel was welcoming and offered us to fill our caravan water tanks. How cool is that? Pure rain water too. Towards the east end of camp 8 I saw a long neck turtle furrowing. What a massive task for it to climb up the hill from the beautiful Forge Creek. We met his lovely partner, Meekatharra who was also very helpful while filling up h2O before we left. Will recommend this stay to other travellers. Best regards Nigel and Meeka. Our 3rd stay at Bruthen Creek and we'll be back! We love the separate camping sites on the property, plenty of space between them and feel like we're bush camping alone. Beautiful location & landscape, with farm animals (lucky to see baby calves again!), kangaroos, emus and birds. Short drive to Woodside Beach, Woodside pub, Yarram and other attractions.

We had a great time at Srockyard Paddock. Only two other rigs there, but plenty of room should more have come. Sandy and Saul met us on arrival and pointed out the wildlife including Kangaroos. A great campsite!
