Exclusive retreat with access to creek on 3 sides - gradually grassed sloped land towards the creek with existing fire pit. Plenty of wildlife including plethora of birds, Kangaroo, koala, Wallabie, Echidna, Deer, Wambats, fish, eel, crays and local Platypus! If you are looking for a private camp spot which is not visible to anyone and surrounded by water and natural beauty, then this is the place for you! lots of activities around and can supply fresh eggs, veg and firewood direct from our farm! Note: this booking is only for one group/family and you will have complete privacy.You will have complete privacy as there will be only one booking at a time for the entire site, so you will have it all to yourself with family/friends. Surround yourself with wildlife and the sound of flowing creek, full of fish and other wildlife including our local Platypus! You will need to be self sufficient and take your rubbish with you so that we can maintain the land in its natural state and keep it beautiful for others to enjoy for years to come :)

Firewood provided, firepit, private. Please only utilise the designated (large) fire pit provided - note firewood can be provided at a cost - but please contact us as we often run out of supply

No toilet; campers must bring camp toilets
Closest toilets are a 10min drive at the gormandale recreational reserve - this is also where the closest shops are in gormandale - otherwise larger towns like rosedale and traralgon are about 30 mins drive. feel free to bring a portable toilet or dig holes away from camp and creek =)
No potable water
The Creek is a spring creek and owners drink from this water - although it is not recommended without boiling the water first
No showers
although feel free to bath in the creek (please do not use chemicals as this is home to many wildlife including our resident platypus!)

Please only leave footsteps as this is a place with amazing wildlife and everyone should have the right to enjoy it for generations to come.

You will have complete privacy as there will be only one booking at a time for the entire site, so you will have it all to yourself with family/friends. Surround yourself with wildlife and the sound of flowing creek, full of fish and other wildlife including our local Platypus! What a superb campsite - best site we’ve stayed in. Just us, the view of the creek, sounds of the birds and a big fire pit. The creek was so close to sit by, we didn’t really need to go anywhere, but with the bush, national park and ninety mile beach all within reach there was much to do at our leisure. Sam was a great host. Good communication, introduced himself, let us know we could contact him if needed and then gave us space. Thank you!

We had an incredible stay at Merrimans Creek Seclusion. The setting is stunning—completely private, surrounded by nature, and the perfect antidote to a busy week. The accommodation was spotless, thoughtfully appointed, and very comfortable, with everything we needed to unwind. Waking up to birdsong and sitting outside in the evenings by the fire under clear country skies was unforgettable. The hosts made check-in effortless and respected our privacy while ensuring we felt looked after. We would return in a heartbeat!

A beautiful, secluded location, only the sound of the birds and the river flowing on three sides. Heaps of room to kick a football out just relax by the river. Would highly recommend to anyone who likes the bush as well as peace and quiet.

Had a wonderful stay at this campsite! The host was lovely and welcoming. Our dogs had an absolute blast and felt right at home. The area was great and we all had such a relaxing and enjoyable time. Would definitely come back and highly recommend to anyone looking for a great getaway .especially if you’re bringing your furry friends along! 🐾

Felt like a private slice of a fairytale, the land was beautiful and well kept- short grass in the main camp spot so no worries for snakes, paths thoughtfully cut through wild blackberry to lead you to more magical sights. Such friendly and thoughtful communication with Sam. Will definitely return :)

My stay at Merrimans Creek Seclusion was truly out of this world. The location is spotless, beautifully maintained, and incredibly peaceful. The campsite itself is something special — surrounded by the creek, with crystal clear water at the perfect temperature, it felt like a hidden paradise. Sam was a fantastic host. He was friendly, helpful, and made sure we had all the information we needed ahead of time, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. 4 nights of blissful, rejuvenative solitude, surrounded in 3 directions by a clear creek & lush, verdant green. Warm, humid & rainy weather made the place all the more beautiful & it was lovely to swim in the cold water in the gentle misty rain. I was amazed to see a large freshwater crayfish. I slept in my super cosy swag with only the sounds of the rushing creek, gentle rain, crackling campfire, insects & birdsong. Such a beautiful & peaceful place. Sam was friendly, welcoming & only to happy to help if needed.

Stand-out location, camp-site is gorgeous, clean , the photos don't do it justice. We took 2 labradors who had a ball roaming and exploring. Sam was just the best host, could not have been more helpful and didn't hesitate in putting aside his time to come help if something went wrong. 10/10 would recommend. Will definately return

We had the most relaxing stay at this private campsite. The sound of the creek flowing nearby and the constant chorus of birds created the most peaceful atmosphere. Loved the many waterholes to cool off in Sam was a truly wonderful host. He was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly responsive. If you’re looking for a quiet escape surrounded by nature, this place is pure magic. We can’t wait to come back!

Such a great camping experience! So good to have the whole place to ourselves, it really helped with the development of our nervous, selectively reactive dog & our water obsessed Jack Russell loved exploring the many different spots along the creek. Sam’s directions were clear & he was a great host! We can’t wait to return! Thanks Sam & family for sharing such a magical place.

An absolute gem of a spot. Beautiful, relaxing and isolated from the rest of the world. Massive fire pit and access to the creek on your door step. Perfect for the kids and dogs to run around and explore within a gated area. Great option if your dogs don’t like camping near others too!

Absolutely stunning campsite, my friends and I had an incredible time exploring the surrounding creek and seeing all the abundant wildlife and nature there was to explore. The site has been maintained really well, and the level of privacy made the entire experience even more peaceful. When we were leaving the next morning, a massive tree fell down onto the road! Yet Sam and his family so kindly helped us out and a couple hours later the tree was cleared! We will definitely be coming back in the summertime. Thank you Sam!
