Beautiful private campsite! We, and our dogs had a blast, great spot for pets, felt very safe and secure where they couldn’t get into too much trouble. Beautiful views of the river & landscape - We used the directions from another review to access the site, might be a bit tricky without a 4WD in winter. Will definitely be booking again!

Nice spot, we had an enjoyable stay but coming in unannounced with a ride on lawn mower and mowing the lawns kinda ruined the ambience of getting away. Would be a brave soul to use the outdoor dunny, it's putrid. Messaged the host but no reply, no contact for the duration. It is a beautiful spot next to a pristinely clear river and great if you have pooches.

Absolutely loved my mini getaway at Micks farm. Property difficult to locate with directions provided by Hipcamp. Was able to find it relatively easily using directions provided in earlier reviews. 2 gravel roads leading down to the camping area, one smooth but quite steep, the other with some larger ruts. No issues getting in or out towing my camper trailer in 4WD. Could be an issue after heavy rain. Well maintained with plenty of flat land to set up on. So peaceful you wouldn’t think there are properties only a short distance away. My 2 dogs had an absolute blast exploring the property. Large section of the creek is shallow which was perfect for my dogs who aren’t confident swimmers to cool off. Fire pits available but need to BYO firewood. Nil firewood available on site as older reviews suggested. Will definitely be back in the future

Micks campsite could be an unbelievable Hipcamp.
It's a massive grassed site right on the river, perfect, but had grass 2 to 3 feet high on the surrounds.
We were constantly on the lookout for snakes, as we had a dog also.
There was a pile of rubbish in long grass, 15 metres from our caravan.
The track to the site was a little steep, no problems for our set-up, but had deep wash-outs to avoid.
The biggest problem was finding the camp-site itself, no signs and took us about 30 minutes to find it.
Tried to contact camp host, but no contact mobile number was included on conformation email.
My review sounds like criticism, but please take these points as constructive feedback.
With a little bit of TLC, and signage, this hipcamp could be one that we would highly recommend.

Stella spot. Feels like an isolated oasis. Perfect for small or large groups. Dogs were completely safe and loved being off leash in a large space. Plenty of felled trees to use as fire wood (asked for permission first). Has a large steel fire pit.
When you sight number 69 turn left off main road toward number 67, follow road round beside that and you’ll find the yellow sign and a farm gate, two roads down to the grassed area and both are pretty suitable for most vehicles.

We had another great weekend at Mick's Place.
There was a big storm while we were there and the river rose about half a metre very quickly.
If you're in a tent, be mindful of where you camp. Where we put our toilet tent was in a low point in the paddock. We didn't realise until a river started to run through it 😆

We had a relaxing weekend at Mick’s farm, heaps of space and very private. We had 3 caravans (18ft) and a hybrid (14ft), recommend using 4WD and LHS track coming in and back out again if bringing a van in, track conditions were rutty on the steep section, but also dry at the time we stayed.
River is quite fast flowing. It is mainly knee deep for the most part with a couple of small deeper holes in spots. Dog absolutely loved it.
Camp area very grassy and well maintained.
Recommend contacting owner days prior to your stay if unsure where to access the premises. I contacted the host Adrian on the day given we were unsure if we had to meet on site and if the gate would be unlocked on arrival. Although I never heard from Adrian, the gate access was unlocked and no issues on arrival.
We had a great time and would enjoy returning again in future.

This camp spot was exactly what I was looking for. Very private, extremely clean, and so peaceful. It felt like a true getaway from everything, with plenty of space and no disturbances at all. You can tell a lot of care has gone into maintaining the site. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing escape.

We had another great weekend at Mick's Place.
It was very private and the river is and the surroundings is beautiful. There were even some cows in the opposite paddock which kept the dog amused.

This is our second stay at Adrian's land and it was just as fabulous as the first stay!
We knew where we were going this time so no issues getting there. The land is flat which makes it perfect for setting up a caravan or tent and with the creek near by, a great little spot to cool down on a warm day. There is phone reception if that tickles your fancy and plenty of area for kids and dog/s to run around as well.
Highly reccomend!
Was disappointed to see a huge cardboard box and beer box dumped, by I can only suspect a previous hipcamer, we got rid of the beer box but the other one was just a bit too big and soaked through.
Do the right thing and clean up after yourself when people open their land to you.

We are always able to relax and unwind at Mick's Place.
The river was a great place for a dip as the temperature was 40 degrees when we were there. Our dog was hardly out of the river. She loves it.
Unfortunately she got tangled up in fishing line and a barbed hook got stuck in her leg.
The line was well up on the riverbank in the grass.
We had to take her to the animal hospital in Maffra to have it removed. It was very stressful for her.
If you fish, please be mindful what you do with your line.
We have booked for another couple of weekends at Mick's Place. We can't wait to come back.

Beautiful spot right on the river and all to yourself. Dogs can be off lead. Bit tricky to find, quick call to Adrian got us sorted. If coming off Stoney Creek Rd you need to take the left turn as soon as you see #69 and go up past #67 till you get to the Road Closed. That's the road in, open/close that gate then head down. One track is steeper than the one with some rutts. We took the rutted option, slow and steady you will be fine. We got in and out in our 2WD towing our camper trailer NO ISSUES even after having had 15ml of rain the day/night before we left.

What a beautiful location, the site was neat as a pin! Very well looked after. We had an RV and it rained, no troubles getting back up the hill.
The water in the river, crystal clear.
BYO firewood and lots of it.

Great peaceful private camp by the river. Plenty of flat areas to set up on. Would be great for groups with multiple set-ups.
Directions - when driving south on Downings Rd, turn left at #69. Follow that road about 100m and merge right and there will be a gate at the end with a “road closed” sign. That’s the gate to enter. Follow that all the way down to the magnificent camp area. Enjoy!

Micks campsite has everything that you could want for a Hipcamp; privacy, space for the kids/dog to run, a beautiful river view and phone reception!
We throughly enjoyed our stay and will most definitely be back.
We had really received any directions as far as finding the campsite apart from the personal address of the owner. Thankfully though we did bump into them when we were a little confused of where we needed to be.
The hill in which you need to drive up/down to get to the property is steep with ruts. I wouldn’t recommend attempting it unless you have a 4WD.
*For future Hipcampers, when given the address, don’t turn into the address of the property, it’s the next driveway-same side as the owners property and then after a short drive up the road, you come to a gate*

Super secluded and an amazing spot!! Would be great for a big group or just a couple. Went with the missus, we used the fire pit and had a ripper evening. Make sure you bring firewood!
The creek is gorgeous, would be good to dip a toe in during warmer weather. Will be back!
