Weekend Trip to Gilwell Park Adventure Centre

We booked last minute and camped at the bottom of get hill at C01, close to toilet/showers. Great facilities and heaps of space. We were the only ones there all weekend (during April school holidays) that weren’t with a scout group. It’s 460 acres of bush with loads of hikes and activities for kids including an approx 2km ‘ninja warrior’ style challenge that was a great way to take the legs out of the kids at the end of the day. They only just started advertising this on Hipcamp, expect it will fill up as people find out about it. Theres creeks and streams, a small lake to swim in, friendly staff, bouldering, giant see-saws, tightrope walking, bike tracks, etc etc, I could go on all day. Recommend 👌

Had the most serendipitous weekend at Anne-mare’s campsite, it exceeded already very high expectations. The creek is stunning, and so fun for swimming, paddling floating, jumping off the rocks and (attempted) fishing. The landscape is so beautiful, plenty of space for camping and so much to explore. We also booked the cabin which was beautiful and the jacuzzi looking out on to the fields was such a delight!! Anne-maree met us at the gate and was super lovely and comprehensive showing us around and being available if we needed. Would 100% go back here!!

9 nights at Mornington Peninsula Glamping.

We had an amazing 9 night stay at Sealey’s place. It is such a peaceful place and great for our kids and dog Monty. Will definitely be booking again. We struggled to get our 20foot van into the powered site but Sealey was very accomodating and allowed us to move to the other site that fit our van comfortably and we were able to run hose to water (15m approx) and cord to power (60m approx).

Loved staying at the farm house. Anne-Maree and her husband were very helpful through our trip. The view to the cattle was beautiful, sunsets every evening - brilliant! Worth noting the spa didn't get as hot as we would have liked as there was no cover. The max temperature we could get it to was 35 degrees which is not that warm - but still beautiful. Loved how self sufficient the cabin was too!

We had a great time at Sealeys land for new years. Was a lovely simple area with great shading from the trees. Nice spot close to the main area in Rye.

Beautiful spot, perfect for a big group! The facilities are great, everything was clean and well kept. Huge open space to spread out in and nice and private. Rob was great and very helpful!! Super peaceful and relaxing, we loved our stay and would highly recommend!

The cabins are converted shipping containers. Cabin 1 has a king bed, Cabin 2 has 2 double beds (bunk style) and a yurt (up to 4 poeple) share the facilities. Please do note the yurt does not have direct electricity and supplied are these wonderful portable flood lights to hang in trees and inside. Charging station in the toilet shed or kitchen. The yurt is approx 150 meters from the cabins and very private. It has one king matress and two single mattresses that normally make up a couch to rest on. It's warm and so peaceful you will never want to leave. Total capacity 1 - 10 people in the cabins/yurt.

Set up camp in the shade on a gently sloping 2 acre paddock all to yourself - that's right - we are offering only one site listing (for you and up to 23 guests) situated about 1 km from the main farm house and completely surrounded by forest. A genuine wilderness experience with forest (tree) bathing, spring fed creeks and total peace for you and your group very close to Melbourne. You can hopefully spot our resident platypus and kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, wombats etc. There’s also abundant bird life including lyre birds and eagles. Explore all the Yarra Ranges has to offer including a short walk to Shiprock Falls. Grab a coffee or pizza in nearby Gembrook and checkout some farm produce from your hosts before you leave. We have added a composting toilet, a drinking water tank and a bush pole shelter with cold water kitchen sink, phone charger ports, lights and hot water to a private shower and a picnic table with seats under cover. We have an adjacent fire pit area with tree log seating. You can order firewood from us too and a Coleman gas cooker with gas bottle (see extras). Most of the materials are repurposed from another property or scavenged from our forest. We hope to see you soon.

Merriwoola is a property of outstanding natural beauty and offers guests a sanctuary from the world surrounded by parkland bush, mysterious boulders resting amongst the trees and numerous native animals including wombats, echidnas, kanagroos, wallabies, possums, koala and the most extraordinary birdlife. The property is defined by an ancient water course that cuts a 1km ravine through the property. During the winter the dry boulder-strewn gorge is transformed with waterfalls and cascades along its length and regardless of the season transports you to another time and place. The hut is fenced and well-behaved dogs are welcome. This property is suited to resourceful guests who are familiar with lighting fires, swinging an axe and understanding rural courtesies. The abundance of wildlife is used to peace so if you are taking a dog with you then please keep it within eyesight and always under your control. Please also consider that the mobs of kangaroos that roam the property include some large bucks (boomers) that can be confrontational if surprised so please proceed with caution if approaching grazing animals.
