Beautiful property, very quiet, access to a toilet and water. 20 min drive to board the Spirit of Tasmania. We really enjoyed our stay 😀

The property is situated at a very convenient address where it is only a short drive away from Geelong city and its surrounds.
The space/paddock gives an open view however it was not as private as we would have liked, probably too many campers for a property of their size.

Overall it's a lovely space and lovely people.
But a few things I'd note:
1. If booking over a busy weekend, it becomes very cramped, and many people were just parked on an open plain, rather than in the trees. Once people left for the weekend, was much more open and comfortable
2. Check the wind levels before going, we had very strong winds that whipped across the site
3. It's one portaloo for everyone, which didn't flush well, so the toilet brush was used to help...

I booked and paid extra for a site close to the toilet. When I arrived the spots near the toilet were already taken. There were no clear "sites" with people parking anywhere. It said the host would meet you but this didn't happen. Only 1 portable toilet that barely worked, so when busy it's a problem. The dog from their house constantly roamed around, so if you don't like dogs this will be a problem.
The positives were nice and flat and away from traffic so quiet.

Overcrowding, 1 porta toilet for approximately 100 people which most were in tents. Dogs were an issue as all off leash and running everywhere and not all owners able to keep them under control or picking up dog poo.
The space was nice with trees and close to Geelong, it was just a shame for the overcrowded space and dog owners no being responsible and lack of clean toilet with toilet paper

Nice paddock but would not camp here again on a Long weekend. There were an obscene amount of people for the space. Close to 100 and am still unsure how Hipcamp would permit this volume of bookings in the first place. One portaloo which for that many people resulted in terrible condition of the loo. Appalling. It was only hosed down once over the long weekend and not emptied. Dogs on leash was not monitored nor promoted so for those of us who had a dog on a leash wishing not to be approached by other dogs was terrible. Dogs were roaming everywhere and through everyone’s sites with owners not watching their dogs at all and not promoting good dog behaviour by the owner. We were the only people who picked up our dogs poo. No fire safety at all with people allowed to have camp fires on the ground itself in gale force winds and not requested to have fire pits for safety. Such a high fire risk. Three taps but as the fittings were different to standard only one was being used. When the portaloo got so totally dirty, campers actually got their kids to poo in the bushes behind our van. Not nice at all. But without monitoring all of this we suspect the owner just let it be as it was.

I have never before provided such a bad rating, however this camp was beyond a joke, for this weekend there were two prices listed we paid $40, the other from memory was $50, however, everyone is in the same paddock and it is simply a free for all, there are no markings or directions as to which area you have booked. The only rule provided was “Enter through the gate and find a spot”. Therefore, take the cheaper option.
It states there are 39 sites, when we parked up and left to explore the area there were probably a mixture of 15 caravans and tents, when we returned, we counted at least 50 set ups all crammed into the paddock, so much so he opened up another paddock. Our caravan was blocked in, and we had to ask one of the campers to move some equipment to access our caravan and again when we choose to leave a day early, the next morning
During the night Campers were lighting fires everywhere including close to dry bushland, I saw the owner coming down in his bobcat, I thought it was to provide some safety rules and direction, but NO!!, it was to bring firewood to those campers who did not have any at $40 a bag.
It is a dog friendly camp site, however there were at least 20 dogs running around off the lead. As we left the following morning I nearly ran over a couple of dogs, it was chaotic as the owners tried to control them.
I choose to stay at Hipcamps as it provides a level of space and privacy not afford at caravan parks, however this was not evident in this camp

Easy to find and good access. Good flat sites with plenty of room, we were the only guests on our stay and could set up anywhere on the paddock. Very quiet. Short section of road with corrugations on approach but nothing difficult.

We stayed there for 3 nights and we absolutely loved it. It was peaceful and relaxing. We stayed at another hip camp in WA and 1 thing Wayne’s camp had that the other camp didn’t have was water. We found that was a big plus in free camping.

Good for well-equipped campers. Bring your own chairs, table, firepit. The toilet is a single portajohn which could be difficult when crowded but was fine for us, even on a holiday weekend so they must manage numbers well. Nice sunrise and sunset views over the fields. Nice open space to camp with a few friends together. Clear sign for the entrance. Trees scattered around to get some shade. Very nearby conveniences - shops, food, petrol, etc - but feels like you're in the bush. Easy to get out to several beaches for swimming, surfing, or snorkeling then come back for a chill evening.

Great site, close to town for easy access to beaches and food, but at the end of a cul de sac for privacy and quiet. Flat with scattered trees for shade. Portaloo on site and even a tap for water.

We booked this as a last-minute decision over the holidays. The staff were friendly and helpful, and when we asked for the toilet to be cleaned, they took care of it promptly, which we appreciated.
Unfortunately, the campsite itself was very exposed and windy during our stay, which made it difficult for us to enjoy the experience. This might not always be the case, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re planning to visit. We ended up heading to a free campsite in the woods instead.
Overall, the facilities were fine, and the team was responsive, but the location didn’t suit us due to the weather conditions

Good directions which made it easy to locate property. Large flat paddock suitable for a range of camping / vehicle options. Some trees for shade. Port-a-loo was clean & easily accessible. Bring insect spray - lots of hungry midges!
