Second stay at Hopevale in Windmill Hollow and it doesn't disappoint. Jason and family are great hosts, facilities are clean and well kept. One of the most peaceful places I have camped in 4 decades of doing so.

Me and my two young sons spent two nights in the hidden gym. We loved it. The size of the camp sites are more than adequate. We loved the kayaking and the boys loved the pony rides . Highly recommend .

Weekend Trip to Hopevale Adventure Camping

Big Fig campsite was a fantastic experience! The camp spot itself was great—clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. Tucked away behind the scrub, it felt wonderfully secluded, offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. The expansive campsite is accessed via a private driveway, which added to the sense of exclusivity and privacy. Its location right next to the creek was a highlight, providing a serene backdrop. The site is flat, making it ideal for setting up tents comfortably. We pitched our extra-large 8mx4m tent at the opposite end of the big fig and fire pit to avoid smoke drifting in, which worked perfectly and had the bonus of being grassier. Despite the tent’s size, it fit comfortably within the camp spot, leaving plenty of room for our two boys to run around and play. The cozy fire pit near the fig tree added a charming touch, perfect for evening gatherings. It’s just a short 50m walk to the composting toilet and hot shower, ensuring comfort without sacrificing the natural vibe. On the afternoon of setup, an unexpected downpour hit, catching us off guard. However, Jason, the host, was incredibly caring and went out of his way to check on us, even offering alternative shelter for the night. As we’d already pitched the tent and were nearly done setting up, we politely declined, but his thoughtfulness left a lasting impression. Highly recommend Big Fig for its beautiful setting and exceptional hospitality!

Beautiful piece of country and a gorgeous view overlooking the lake. At night the chorus of frogs came to life and during the day the platypus surprised with a visit in the lake. Neil and Joss went out of their way to make you feel at home.

Lovely, private spot for the family. Tidy and clean facilities- toilet and hot shower. Clear directions and friendly hosts. Beautiful scenery- flowing creek next to the camp site, lovely swimming dam with a kayak and a adventure to the Falls. We are keen to return to do some more exploring!

Weekend Trip to Woombye Rainforest Escape

Magical spot! So private but close by. As a Sunshine Coast local it was so convenient and yet felt like the middle of our own private forest. Set up with tables, water, gazebo, stream, separate picnic areas, and a great spot for swimming. The fairy lights and tiny flowers all over the meadow made the whole place come alive with magic. Relaxing in the hammock while the sunset filtered through the trees, and swimming in the waterhole with water cascading down the rocks was my personal favourites. Jacqui even had little supplies to make the stay more comfortable. Thank you so much. Definitely recommend to everyone.

2 nights at Yabba Creek Farm

Just spent a couple of wonderful days at Yabba Creek. The hosts went out of their way to make sure we had an amazing time. As soon as we drove in we were impressed with how well presented each site is. The grass looked like it belonged on a golf course, and was perfect to set up camp on. It wasn’t long after we had set up camp and the friendly chickens and turkeys came to visit. The kids were even able to pick them up and give them a cuddle. Site 2 has a perfect blend of shade and sunshine which made it easy to keep the batteries charged with solar, while relaxing with a cold one in the shade. I agonised for a while over which site to pick, but you can’t really go wrong at this camp. Each site looked amazing. The free to use kayaks were lots of fun and kept everyone entertained. Excellent mobile coverage also if it’s something you like to have. Our new favourite getaway close to the city. Will definitely be back! Thanks again Dean and Kaylea

Beautiful spot. The sites are beautifully maintained. The kayaks were a great hit. Dean & Kaylea were lovely hosts. Brought round games for the kids, checked daily to see if we needed anything and just generally made us feel welcome. We will be back.

My partner and I stayed at Equine camp. The property was beautiful - very well maintained sites and amenities. Jason was very helpful in providing relevant information to the National Park walks given recent weather. We completed the trek to Wrattens Falls which was stunning. The fact you could walk from camp through to the National Park still amazes me. Definitely will be returning. Thankyou Jason & family :)

Absolutely beautiful 🏕️🌿 Probably the most amazing Hipcamp property we have stayed at! The views are incredible and each site is so private and well looked after. We really appreciated that the camp site was sectioned off which kept it free from cow dung and the grass was beautiful ! 🌿 Definitely need a 4wD but it’s all part of the fun. Creek down the bottom is a must to visit! We had a great swim and really enjoyed exploring the whole area. We can’t wait to come back!

Riverdell is 166 acres located on the eastern side of the Blackall Range extending down to the Mooloolah River headwaters. Escape off grid to enjoy the peace and quiet, watch the cattle grazing in the paddocks, spot the native birdlife or cuddle up by the fire in your own secluded paradise. Sunrises are spectacular while sunsets by open campfire are also a highlight of the Riverdell experience. Take a short walk up the creek, west of The Junction carpark above the camp site to see some scenic rockpools and waterfalls in the cool of the rainforest canopy. Walking boots are highly recommended. There is plenty to do and see in the area including exploring nearby Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve, Gardeners Falls, Kondalilla National Park, Australia Zoo, indulge in a tasting at the Barrel at Clouds Vineyard opposite the front gate, stroll through Maleny Botanic Gardens & Bird World or take a short drive to some of Australia’s most beautiful beaches. Access during daylight hours via 4WD ONLY with AT or MT off-road Tyres, RT Tyres are not permitted due to the steepness of the tracks. Off-road camper trailers are suitable for some campsites (max weight 1500kg and max length 5m restrictions apply). Caravans are not permitted due to the steep terrain. A Portaloo is located between the Ocean View 1 and 2 sites and a second Portaloo is located centrally and within walking distance to The Knoll, Upper Plateau, Valley View and Little Bunya campsites. There are no facilities at The Junction, and you MUST be self-contained. Riverdell is dog friendly, off leash if trained, and recommend tick treatment before arrival. For safety, no arrivals after dark unless arranged prior.

Yabba Creek Farm

Yabba Creek Farm is located along the Yabba Creek just west of Imbil. Only 3km past Imbil township and 10km to Borumba Dam. The property boast exquisite views of the Yabba Creek bordering Mount Grainger and forestry as our backdrop. Make use of the free kayak hire. It is a must do so you can see what makes this area so popular. There are deep swimming holes as well as shallow areas for the little ones. Our access to property and sites is not affected by heavy rain or minor flooding *** Please note there is a rifle range within a few kilometres of the farm. You can hear the distant echos when range is open during some weekends FYI *** Yabba creek Farm is one of three Hipcamps along this stretch of Yabba Creek. To the west is Maluka Park - runner up Hipcamp 2022 and finalist 2023 in Australia. To the east is Yabba Ridge with an abundance of unique animals you can see across the paddock from Yabba Creek Farm. These campsites are really hidden gems. Be sure to book early as we are gaining popularity with limited bookings available. Camps are spaced out along a manicured 300m creek frontage. There is a total of 1km creek frontage on Yabba Creek Farm for your to explore. Attractions include kayaking - provided and are free to use, hiking in adjacent Imbil state forest and wildlife watching. Platypus are frequently sighted in the Yabba creek. Lungfish can also be viewed while kayaking or snorkelling. Koalas, wallabies, gonnas and an abundance of bird life are also commonly sighted. Dogs are welcome on very strict conditions as we have farm animals including, chickens, horses and a turkey, so must remain secure on a leash at all times. Dogs with hunting or chasing nature are not welcome for the safety of our animals and wildlife. Porta toilet available. BYO if you wish to camp further away from main area. Second hire toilet during peak season. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided. Weekends and holidays we provide farm experiences for the kids with feeding and petting with ponies and pony ride for the little kids, chickens and turkey. Maluka Park

Please notify us if you are camping with other campers who have booked a separate site so we can have you camping beside each other. During busy times, most weekend bookings are a minimum of 2 nights with 1 night bookings during the week, however occasionally we will have 1 night bookings on weekends. Check with your host to see availability on 1 night bookings. Kayaks are provided free of charge for all campers to use in Yabba Creek. Please treat them respectfully and return them back to their launching place just below the powerlines. If you wish to bring along your own kayak, you can launch them at the walkway between campsite 8 and 9 where our camp kayaks are stored, however, cars are restricted from driving down to the water edge so you will have to carry them to the water to launch them. Please note that you are responsible for your own kayak. All campsites run parallel too the creek and are situated on the upper bank of Yabba Creek. Some have creek views, the other sites have trees between the creek and their site. All have mountain views. The main access to the creek is half way along the campground between site 8 and 9. Please do not leave your car parked in the walkway as this will block the entrance to campsite 9. Unfortunately, we lost many of our creek access points due to flooding. Our property is situated between Imbil and Lake Borumba on the beautiful Yabba Creek. We have 110 acres, with campsites on 20 acres. We have 1km of creek frontage. The creek offers fishing, swimming and kayaking. If you're lucky you'll spot the platypus in the creek and there's lots of birdlife around so bring your cameras! Kayaks are supplied free for all campers to use. We just ask that you treat them with respect and return them back to their launching place once you have finished with them. It would pay to pack your reef walkers as the river is rocky in spots. There is lots of space for motorhomes and large camping vehicles to maneuver and park. Plenty of flat spots for your tent or vehicle. This campsite has access to flushing toilets (toilets are situated approx. 400m from the camp sites) and water (rainwater), but you will need to bring your own camping shower. Campfires are permitted outside of fire-ban season (please use the existing firepits). Firewood is available and can be delivered to your site by our local contractor. Cost is $20 for a generous load or $10 for a half load. The property features a gorgeous rainforest with a walking track that you can follow safely, and you can also access the state forest next door if you're up for a bigger adventure. Lake Borumba is just down the road which permits water skiing, boating, fishing and other water recreation. The town ship of Imbil is only 7 minutes away where you can visit the many cafes, bakeries, The Imbil pub, Sunday markets, Produce and hardware store, supermarket, butcher, clothing shops, hairdresser, fishing supplies, Petrol station, post office and more. We are a working cattle and horse property but we do allow pets, however pet owners will need to abide by the rules as set out under the Rules and Safety "Pets" section. Please note that there is a rifle range within hearing distance from Maluka Park and campers may at times on weekends hear gunshots. This generally only goes for a few hours.

Hopevale Adventure Camping

The Cooke Family welcomes you to “Hopevale”. A beautiful 113 acre property bordered by Wrattens National Park at the edge of the world in the peaceful Widgee district of greater Gympie. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. After much hard work, they have made it what it is today, with plans to continually improve. We have different camp options available, one of which is set up for those guests also wanting to stay with horses or just have a larger group booking. Guests will have access to a toilet and shower throughout their stay which is within walking distance from each of the campsites. Campfires and pets are welcome. The property has only had 4 farming owners in its 110 odd years since it was first surveyed and selected in 1915. The Hillcoats, Bishops, Cotters, and now the Cooke’s. The families over the years have used the property for timber getting, dairy, beef and small cropping. The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property. The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day. There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Red-back wrens, pardalotes, rainbow bee-eaters, finches and quail call the open grasses home while whip birds give their iconic call in the forest. Above, birds of prey ride the thermals of the valley looking for their next meal. “We have been blessed beyond measure with a small slice of God’s wonderful creation that we would love to share with you.”

Woombye Rainforest Escape

Ideally suited for self contained campers, offering complete privacy, in natural rainforest setting with lots of native birds and little wallabies and a night sky full of stars. The site is accessed by vehicle (4WD recommended, especially in wet conditions) on a 700 metre bush track, with a variety of camping options - including swags/tents and off-road caravans. Guests have their own exclusive camping area with fire pit, hammocks and fresh water streams. As we are nestled in the rainforest, phone reception can vary, which is perfect for stepping away from day to day life (but it is possible to head back to the entrance to pick up better coverage) The area offers a variety of nature walks and only 10 minutes to town of Woombye, Palmwoods, Montville, Hinterland National Parks and also convenient access to the many beaches and attractions on the coast.
