Buranga Farm is a small organic family-run farm on 60 acres in the Noosa hinterland only ten minutes from Peregian Beach. The property is largely flat with a hill on the Eastern side and a ridgeline at the very back of the property. There are plenty of cleared open areas as well as a mix of lightly treed and native vegetation. Site one and two are located on the hillside looking west to Mount Cooroy and are best suited for couples. Sites three and four share a large open grassed area the flows down to the main lake that offers great swimming. Site five overlooks the lake and opens into a private bush area. All areas of the property are open to campers to walk through and explore. The farm comprises a series of ponds near the road that are in the process of being renovated for Red Claw Crayfish. There are fruit trees and veggie gardens and chooks around the house paddock. The balance of the land is either grazed by our small herd of cattle and our 2 donkeys or set aside for regeneration. Dog friendly. Simple composting/drop toilet available.

Our FIRES kits include $25 1st day (includes: fire pit, fire wood, fire starter and matches) $20 each day after everything included, All guests must take their waste with them on departure, we do have 10c recycling, There are many places that you can visit if you feel like a short drive within 15- 60 min such as Breweries, Wineries, Beaches, Markets, Rock pools and the old famous Mary Rattler Steam Train. There is also many quite and beautiful small towns to visit, or just sit back and enjoy a cup of coffee and the peace and quite. North Gympie, 17min to Mary Valley Rattler train station, 32min to Mothar Mountain Rock Pools, 35min to Tin Can Bay, 50min to Rainbow Beach, 60min to the Sunshine Coast. Get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and have your own spot along side the beautiful running creek and enjoy the peaceful surrounds of nature. The Cooke Family welcomes you to “Hopevale”. A beautiful 113 acre property bordered by Wrattens National Park at the edge of the world in the peaceful Widgee district of greater Gympie. Jason, a landscaper by trade, and Jacinta a teacher by profession, met many years ago at a national Christian youth conference. Four beautiful children later and many years down the track, they bought Hopevale as a blank cattle fattening property in 2018. After much hard work, they have made it what it is today, with plans to continually improve. We have different camp options available, one of which is set up for those guests also wanting to stay with horses or just have a larger group booking. Guests will have access to a toilet and shower throughout their stay which is within walking distance from each of the campsites. Campfires and pets are welcome. The property has only had 4 farming owners in its 110 odd years since it was first surveyed and selected in 1915. The Hillcoats, Bishops, Cotters, and now the Cooke’s. The families over the years have used the property for timber getting, dairy, beef and small cropping. The property is geologically rich with volcanic soils, sandstone escarpments full of caves and overhangs. The mighty Wrattens Falls sits to the back of the property in the National Park and is a sight to behold in full flow. It feeds the head waters of the western branch of Widgee Creek which meanders through the property. The subtropical dry rainforest clad mountains are dominated by the majestic Bunya and Hoop pines and are a testament to what once was covering the entire property before being cleared for farming. Remnant riparian creek lines are botanically rich and diverse holding Red and White Cedar, Teak, Silky oak and many other coveted timber trees harvested back in the day. There are many species of animals and birds that call Hopevale home. From water dragons, frogs and fish in the creeks, monitors, wallabies, deer, koalas, possums and phascogales in the eucalypts. Red-back wrens, pardalotes, rainbow bee-eaters, finches and quail call the open grasses home while whip birds give their iconic call in the forest. It boasts magnificent views as we are on the hilltop and the sunsets are unforgetable. Yabby catching - traps or meat on a string in the big lagoon Fossicking and panning for gold - in the river. PUSH BIKES E BIKES - the farm is suitable for both TRAIL BIKES - kids with no bigger than 50cc welcome but must ride in designated area under full parental supervision. For adults there are huge state forests next door with fantastic trails as will as the sand trails in the enormous pine forests close by. We have 69 acres within the Barambah Wine Trail (which is located in Moffatdale, near Murgon, QLD). Our property backs onto the Bjelke Petersen Dam. Our property offers direct access to Lake Barambah from your large grassy campsite. You can enjoy uninterrupted views of the lake while relaxing around your camp fire. The lake itself is wide and deep, and safe for swimming (properly supervised) and all your favourite water activities. There is also basic access to launch small boats. Dusty Hill Wines is just down the road and offers local wine tasting and some great meals in their restaurant. There are also some other wineries in the area you can explore and enjoy. If you want to get your heart rate up, we are 25 minutes from Kinombi Falls where you can enjoy a number of stairs to get to the top. The waterfall is often quite small but the surrounding area is beautiful and the stairs are a good workout. PLEASE NOTE: We are only able to accept Fully Self-contained Vans, No tent or Swag Sites are available. You will need to be fully self contained van as we have no showers or toilets available. This a great spot to KAYAK and wet your line with bass, saratoga, sooty grunter and lots of catfish! Platypus inhabit the river too, so bring your camera. Biking and bush walking are popular with guests. Please note that the river bank is quite steep. We recently had 2 access tracks constructed to the river for easier KAYAK launching. We are pet friendly and welcome SELF-CONTAINED RV campers only (council regulations). Our wetland has lots of bird life with quite a few raising young. The most beautiful spacious and private sites. We stayed at little fig flat with our own access to the creek, massive land to set up camp and our own fire pit area looking over the mountains for sunset. There are short walks, picnic spots, big hikes, lookouts and swimming holes all on the land meaning you never need to leave camp. Jason welcomed us not long after we arrived and was extremely lovely and friendly. We can’t wait to come back again

We camped 3 nights by the dam at Tremayne and absolutely loved this location. It felt secluded, had abundant bird life, platypuses and a lovely rainforest walk. Great hosts, too - friendly, informative and a bonus box of avocados 🥑😋. We also visited Maleny, only a 20 minutes drive. It was a lovely, relaxing long weekend.

Had a lovely visit from Jason and enjoyed doing some walking on the property as well as just relaxing. It’s such a beautiful property and the scenery is postcard perfect! It’s a fair way for us to drive there but well worth it every time.

Always love our time at Hopevale! Mountain View is a beautiful, private site. We loved the wallaby mum and baby that hung around most of the weekend! The site (and the campground as a whole) is really well maintained, loved the low firepit for optimal heat. Jason and his family are great hosts. A truly peaceful weekend away!

Weekend Trip to Sandycreek Homestead

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Platypus Bend and can't recommend it highly enough! Warren was an exceptional host—friendly, welcoming, incredibly responsive, and always happy to help with anything we needed. The property itself is immaculately maintained, with huge open green spaces and breathtaking scenery. There was no shortage of things to do, from bushwalks and swimming in the creeks to kayaking on the dam (with kayaks thoughtfully supplied). We were lucky enough to have only one other group staying during our visit, but thanks to the property's size and multiple camping areas, everyone had plenty of space and privacy. We stayed in our campervans on beautifully flat ground just metres from the dam, which was perfect for our dog to enjoy a swim while safely tethered to the van. The sunsets were simply stunning, and the toilets and showers were spotless throughout our stay. If you're looking for a peaceful, well-maintained camping destination with a genuinely welcoming host, Platypus Bend is hard to beat. We'll most definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Tremayne - The Old Avocado Farm

We looked for a place close to Brisbane for our shakedown trip in our new van. Tremaye was gorgeous, we fell in love with the beautiful green landscape, fresh air and scenery and immediately felt it was worth a longer stay. So we're planning a return already. You'll find a good choice of sites, mostly private and all with very well maintained, lush green grassy sites. Neil was very generous with a stock of fresh avocados and checking in on us to see if we needed anything. We're very grateful for an excellent stay, thank you.

We absolutely loved our time at the Hopevale Adventures Windmill hollow site. It was an amazing trip from start to finish. The site itself was incredibly clean and well-maintained, giving us the perfect balance of a rustic adventure with the comfort of a spotless, private setup. It was the ideal spot to unwind with the family without any distractions. We'll definitely be back!

A fantastic spot for our two-night off-grid shake-down with our new caravan! The hosts were very friendly, meeting us on arrival and showing us to our site. The site was level, well maintained and had beautiful views across the avocado farm and rolling hills. The drive in and out was an added bonus, giving us the chance to test our tow vehicle and caravan on some varied terrain. A peaceful, scenic place to stay, and exactly what we were looking for. We’d happily stay again and would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing off-grid camping experience.
