Lucky’s Ridge is a 120acres property of bush, heavily timbered with straight eucalyptus, situated north NSW, near Tabulam, at the foot of great dividing range. It’s subtropical (summer rain, dry winter usually, no frost). The primitive campgrounds have two compost toilets and two wood fired hot showers. Camp kitchen has a wood stove/oven, kitchen sink and benches (no fridge). All water taps are on rain water. There is a herb/veggies garden guest are welcome to pick from. Please be aware that there is only 12v power available (usb charging station), and Telstra reception is there but just and Optus is patchy. I have friendly dairy goats, sheep, cows, pigs and horses roaming on the property, maintaining the grass short and fertilised (watch for the poop!), and chickens, duck and rabbits, all mostly free range in the Permaculture garden and orchards near the house. I'm into homesteading, and I grow and raise (and butcher) most of my food. I enjoy sharing my land and experience with others, so I’ve recently had a primitive campground approved and open. It was mostly to host seasonal self reliant backpackers coming to pick blueberries at Mountain Blue, so it offers a bit more than just a place to camp, but it stays rather rustic. I’m also keen to host people interested in off grid living and sustainability or whoever wants to come and camp in this quiet, not crowded at all part of the bush. Hipcampers please be aware that from August til December, backpackers may be living at the campgrounds. If you are interested in a garden tour, feeding the animals, milking the goats and/or pony rides, please let me know in advance. We also have some mountain bike trails (jumps, etc) for keen riders (work in progress).

Binghi Station surrendered to the ravaging bush fires of 2019, however, after this devastation came some much needed rainfall which brought hope; the creation of new life in the form of rich, vibrant green country not seen since the 1980’s. You can explore endlessly on this raw outback property. Discover secret hideouts, come and enjoy a swim under our flowing waterfall (for those brave enough to during the winter months!) and simply relax and soak in pure wildlife beneath a million stars in the night sky. Binghi Station is designed for the 4x4 enthusiasts. In other words we strongly recommend access by 4WD only as the entry 6klm driveway is very rugged and bumpy in most places due to heavy rain fall past 12 months. Please ask for more details if necessary should you have any concerns based on your equipment. Its an ongoing maintenance. Its the 4x4 adventure. We would rather talk it down than up:-) Currently we do not recommend SUV AWD type cars due to there lower profile and vulnerability to bumps and ruts. It is doable many do it all however about driver confidence and add another upto 2hours to trip :-) We recommend parking up the top driveway and having a preplanned lift down. BE WARNED The driveway and some tracks are rough suited for 4x4 adventure enthusiasts that like to use there pride and joy offroad gear for what its intended. ps One thing we can say you will never get bogged on our driveway no matter the rain fall as its very compacted despite its authentic rough character. The Secret Gorge site is suited to tents, camper trailers and smaller length caravans. All our other site locations are suited to off-road 4WD caravans and camper trailers. Binghi Station - an extraordinary place to make some truly wonderful family memories. :-)

For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done. Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided. In many cases you will be able to choose where you wish to park. Not all sites are level, but you are able to site your camp/ van as you wish. There are no cement pads. There is access to toilets and hot showers. You may have to walk some distance to the amenities but the solitude, the quiet, safety and stars make all worthwhile. There is a dedicated firepit and firewood is supplied. We can supply no water other than sufficient to cook dinner. You are welcome to use some of the vegetables and herbs but not to strip the vegetable garden! If in doubt - ask. We have great coffee and Devonshire teas but we are not a cafe. However there is a great little lavender shop where you can buy our own lavender essential oil, or a cake of soap or a Baggallini Handbag. We are dog friendly! We welcome well behaved dogs. We are 20 km from Stanthorpe. You may see wildlife or cattle through the fence and an occasional vehicle going down the road. We have a sealed road all the way to our boundary and then drive through the lavender. If you visit in late November through to early December you will enjoy our lavender flowering, but the plants look very pretty all year around in neat rows. We are a commercial farm so there is the need to work to the rhythm of the lavender.

If travelling in a 2wd please contact us before booking, some of the campgrounds have to be reached by crossing the creeks, Girard camp is one of them where the office and the showers are, at times this crossing is under water and is only accessible by 4wd. Other campgrounds are available near the entry gate that don't require a creek crossing for access and toilets are available on some of them. One side of the property is bound by Emu Creek and the other by Girard Creek, both creeks have enough water with some permanent deep water holes for all year activities. Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m deep waterfall, nature at it's best. The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road. Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away. Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km. Once a working cattle property, in the 90's was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise. Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property. The front section is undulating with plantation forest (spotted gum) and bushland, towards the back it has mountains, steep terrain and millions of trees with spectacular views and great hiking tracks.

Historically known as a resting point for bullock teams hauling timber from the surrounding forests on their way to a saw mill in the lower valley, Bajimba is now home to Merv & Carey. We are just over 1080 metres above sea level, with 57 acres of eucalypt & grass tree forests, grass pastures, and a small (but mighty) organic farm. Accommodation options include "West View “situated at our highest elevation with incredible views from the deck, and "Bullock Camp" which can accommodate tents, caravans or motor homes. When making travel arrangements, note we are in NSW and therefore are 1 hour ahead of QLD during day light savings months. It is encouraged if possible that guests arrive before 6pm to ensure a smooth and stress free check in to camp. Being able to experience the sunset is all a part of your Bajimba stay! Amenities for both sites include an ablution block with hot shower and composting toilet, with steam sauna and wood-fired hot tub available by appointment. Please call at time of booking if hot tub and sauna facilities are required (especially for same-days bookings). Wood fired hot tubs require four hours to heat appropriately. Also note that all toiletries are provided to ensure that our critical farm ecosystem is maintained. It’s subtropical (summer rain, dry winter usually, no frost). The primitive campgrounds have two compost toilets and two wood fired hot showers. Camp kitchen has a wood stove/oven, kitchen sink and benches (no fridge). All water taps are on rain water. There is a herb/veggies garden guest are welcome to pick from. Please be aware that there is only 12v power available (usb charging station), and Telstra reception is there but just and Optus is patchy. I have friendly dairy goats, sheep, cows, pigs and horses roaming on the property, maintaining the grass short and fertilised (watch for the poop!), and chickens, duck and rabbits, all mostly free range in the Permaculture garden and orchards near the house. I'm into homesteading, and I grow and raise (and butcher) most of my food. I enjoy sharing my land and experience with others, so I’ve recently had a primitive campground approved and open. It was mostly to host seasonal self reliant backpackers coming to pick blueberries at Mountain Blue, so it offers a bit more than just a place to camp, but it stays rather rustic. I’m also keen to host people interested in off grid living and sustainability or whoever wants to come and camp in this quiet, not crowded at all part of the bush. Hipcampers please be aware that from August til December, backpackers may be living at the campgrounds. If you are interested in a garden tour, feeding the animals, milking the goats and/or pony rides, please let me know in advance. We also have some mountain bike trails (jumps, etc) for keen riders (work in progress).

You can explore endlessly on this raw outback property. Discover secret hideouts, come and enjoy a swim under our flowing waterfall (for those brave enough to during the winter months!) and simply relax and soak in pure wildlife beneath a million stars in the night sky. Binghi Station is designed for the 4x4 enthusiasts. In other words we strongly recommend access by 4WD only as the entry 6klm driveway is very rugged and bumpy in most places due to heavy rain fall past 12 months. Please ask for more details if necessary should you have any concerns based on your equipment. Its an ongoing maintenance. Its the 4x4 adventure. We would rather talk it down than up:-) Currently we do not recommend SUV AWD type cars due to there lower profile and vulnerability to bumps and ruts. It is doable many do it all however about driver confidence and add another upto 2hours to trip :-) We recommend parking up the top driveway and having a preplanned lift down. BE WARNED The driveway and some tracks are rough suited for 4x4 adventure enthusiasts that like to use there pride and joy offroad gear for what its intended. ps One thing we can say you will never get bogged on our driveway no matter the rain fall as its very compacted despite its authentic rough character. The Secret Gorge site is suited to tents, camper trailers and smaller length caravans. All our other site locations are suited to off-road 4WD caravans and camper trailers. Binghi Station - an extraordinary place to make some truly wonderful family memories. :-)

Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done. Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided. In many cases you will be able to choose where you wish to park. Not all sites are level, but you are able to site your camp/ van as you wish. There are no cement pads. There is access to toilets and hot showers. You may have to walk some distance to the amenities but the solitude, the quiet, safety and stars make all worthwhile. There is a dedicated firepit and firewood is supplied. We can supply no water other than sufficient to cook dinner. You are welcome to use some of the vegetables and herbs but not to strip the vegetable garden! If in doubt - ask. We have great coffee and Devonshire teas but we are not a cafe. However there is a great little lavender shop where you can buy our own lavender essential oil, or a cake of soap or a Baggallini Handbag. We are dog friendly! We welcome well behaved dogs. We are 20 km from Stanthorpe. You may see wildlife or cattle through the fence and an occasional vehicle going down the road. We have a sealed road all the way to our boundary and then drive through the lavender. If you visit in late November through to early December you will enjoy our lavender flowering, but the plants look very pretty all year around in neat rows. We are a commercial farm so there is the need to work to the rhythm of the lavender.

If travelling in a 2wd please contact us before booking, some of the campgrounds have to be reached by crossing the creeks, Girard camp is one of them where the office and the showers are, at times this crossing is under water and is only accessible by 4wd. Other campgrounds are available near the entry gate that don't require a creek crossing for access and toilets are available on some of them. One side of the property is bound by Emu Creek and the other by Girard Creek, both creeks have enough water with some permanent deep water holes for all year activities. Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m deep waterfall, nature at it's best. The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road. Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away. Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km. Once a working cattle property, in the 90's was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise. Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property. The front section is undulating with plantation forest (spotted gum) and bushland, towards the back it has mountains, steep terrain and millions of trees with spectacular views and great hiking tracks.

Bajimba Eco Camp is part of our stunning family property nestled in the surrounds of Mt Bajimba in the Northern Tablelands of NSW, 40 minutes south east of Tenterfield. Historically known as a resting point for bullock teams hauling timber from the surrounding forests on their way to a saw mill in the lower valley, Bajimba is now home to Merv & Carey. We are just over 1080 metres above sea level, with 57 acres of eucalypt & grass tree forests, grass pastures, and a small (but mighty) organic farm. Welcome to Emu creek Retreat One of the best destinations for hiking, camping, bushwalking, swimming, Kayaking, fishing, mountain bike riding (bicycles only), bird watching, 4wdriving and even fossicking, since the old gold mining town "Lunatics" was not far away from us. Dogs, men's best friend, are definitely welcome. If travelling in a 2wd please contact us before booking, some of the campgrounds have to be reached by crossing the creeks, Girard camp is one of them where the office and the showers are, at times this crossing is under water and is only accessible by 4wd. Other campgrounds are available near the entry gate that don't require a creek crossing for access and toilets are available on some of them. One side of the property is bound by Emu Creek and the other by Girard Creek, both creeks have enough water with some permanent deep water holes for all year activities. Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m deep waterfall, nature at it's best. The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road. Merv's land is in a beautiful location up high in the hills. My campsite was private and I saw kangaroos and bunnies hopping by, and pretty birds as well as farm animals. The road up there is mostly unsealed but it was easily doable in my camper van especially as I went in dry weather. The toilets were a bit far away from my unpowered site for a 60 yo lady nighttime visit because I was afraid I'd trip, but I had my own anyway. The shower and toilet facilities were very clean and attractive being uniquely designed from recycled building materials. A lovely place for my overnight stay.

Absolutely beautiful spot. Facilities were pristine and the owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. The firewood was generous and there’s a chopping block next to the stack (byo axe). There was no reception in most of the property which is a plus to me, but if you need to contact the outside world the owners have starlink for emergencys and there’s a spot on the hill above Fingers Rocks (all the way up the next hill before the fork in the road) that has amazing reception if you can make the trek. The cows are gorgeous and so curious but won’t get within 3 or 4 metres of you or any gear. Fingers rocks is a perfect spot to cool off and relax at. I’d definitely come back with a bigger group. The only things I’d change are when I went (Very hot and humid with a few good storms) and how many people I had with me. I’d recommend going on the warmer side of spring and autumn or the cooler sides of summer. Definitely bring entertainment if you’re staying for more than a few days. The 4wd tracks and river kept me and the Mrs entertained all week but if we were around longer, the lack of things to do around the area may have gotten to us. Over all a great place to spend a week and I will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat
Location was superb, the Glamping tents location was private and provided a sanctuary away from the rest of world, even more so without reception (Telstra reception may exist in the area, but not really anywhere along the river). Having a stretch of the river to yourself elevates the getaway to a whole new level. We did have a slight hiccup that lead to cold showers on the first rainy night, but Dan and Kristy were straight on to it, even offering to visit the campsite at 10pm to fix it for us. The camp set up is rustic, but works for a quick getaway away from the hustle and bustle.

We stayed at Kingfisher camp for a few days. The site itself is raised above the river by a few metres, so you look down onto it which is lovely for watching the wildlife. The cows are very inquisitive and quickly demolished our tall, portable dog fencing to investigate our camp which wasn't ideal, but it's part of camping in a paddock. We didn't use their amenities but did take a sticky beak and they are well designed and spotlessly clean. Will definitely return.

The most well-maintained, gorgeous spot by the Condamine River. Firepits on each site and far enough away from the next camp to enjoy the space. Kayaks were a great option to explore the river. Lindsay was the friendliest of hosts and takes such pride in his beautiful HipCamp. The meat pack was delicious!! Just a heads up... lots of flies around Warwick at this time of year so remember the spray and your fly net to make things a little more comfortable..

Spent a night here (if I had time I would’ve stayed longer). Everything from check in to set up was smooth. Bruce was great.. from helping me choose the right spot to making sure I’m set up for the night with my fire going.. felt incredibly safe here and the water in the creek was an added bonus for me and my dog. Facilities were clean and in good order and Bruce has plans to continue to upgrade. I can see why this place gets so busy on long weekends but thankful there was only a couple other campers there this weekend with enough space between us you couldn’t hear a thing.. I’ll definitely be coming back for longer than 1 night!

This is a grazing property where you can obseve sheep, cattle, and roos, and if you are lucky a few emus. In the little dams and ponds they drink from you often see ducks and other waterfowl. Gullies with ankle-deep spring-fed seasonal creeks. Are scattered thoughout the property. Pleasant to walk along, many accessed by walking or 4wd track only. Trail bikes or pushbikes welcome. There are great areas to hike, explore, and birdwatch. There is no light pollution so you see the amazing display of stars at night. At the top of each hill is a pleasant view. Nice photos to show off on fb or instagram. Campfires permitted, please make sure you put them out when not attended. Water container top-up, shower, and toilet shed available And a power point to charge phone. No internet. But if you must contact someone, do see us at the house. We now have bush dunnies at various locations. They are long drops. You're welcome to bring your pet, but please ensure they are kept on leash To camp, most people just chose a cleared spot. Popular areas are near the sheaing shed, or emu hollow. Sometimes we have pig hunters . They are down the back. Away from campers for your safety. When they are present some areas on photos are not accessable. Accessable at all times:- House paddock. shearing shed toilets showers, small dam. Hill with a view. Emu Hollow, accessable by high clearence 2wd .it is in a paddock wih pleasnt views and down the bottom is small shallow pleasant creek to sit by and watch cows grazing . Great for a family group or couple to escape the city madness. it has a long drop dunny. Both are 300 acres. If no piggers, the whole 2500 acres is yours to explore. If it rains, or you arrive too late to set up, we have a spare bed room with a double bunk sleeps 2 adjoining the shed near house $30. per night to use. You can also sleep in the shearing shed. And look at the equipent and fill a bag of manure for your garden. We have a few freindly sheep. And you can toss your food scraps to our chooks. Excursions. Coolmunda dam .40k. Find us on a large property on the banks of the Timbarra River, located 20 km / 30 min south of Drake Village (an old gold mining community). Bonalbo Key Ridge is a stunning, secluded 700-acre property that borders Yabbra National Park. The estate features over 200 acres of native forest, creeks, several swimming holes, and an extensive network of walking trails. The two adjoining houses are constructed from timber logs and beams, all harvested from the property itself. The accommodation includes kitchen facilities, a hot shower, and a toilet. Limited Wi-Fi is available on-site (10 GB), and there is a Telstra tower on the hill for those using that network. Explore the beauty of Bean Creek Falls, venture into Yabbra National Park, or enjoy the extensive trails that wind through the property. Guests are welcome to explore the property by 4WD or on foot. The entire property is available for small functions, with accommodation for up to 14 people between the two houses and additional camping options. Please bring your own bedding, including pillows, sheets, blankets, and towels. We provide mattresses in each room. We’ve recently upgraded the house with a new septic tank and flushing toilet, replacing the old composting toilet. All rubbish must be removed from the property, as there is no garbage collection service in the area. A cleaning fee will be charged if rubbish is left behind. Registration Number PID-STRA-4898
