Beautiful spot, nice and quiet. Lots of space, kids loved roaming around and seeing the cattle and donkeys. Nice walk to the creek. Clean shower and toilet

The Folly Ballandean - Site 7
We stayed at The Folly for easy access to hiking at Girraween NP. We camped on site 8 for two nights. Levelled site with good size fire pit. Sites are fairly close together but hardly anyone there. We originally had site 7 but asked to change to site 8 which was more private. Next time we will book the sites by the river. The river is beautiful. We will back in warmer weather to swim. Nice clean toilet and hot shower too. The donkeys are an added bonus. So friendly. We took carrots to feed them.

Camping was beautiful at The Folly. Campsite one is nice and close to facilities and further away from other sites. The toilet and shower are very nice and the small kitchen area very convenient. Beautiful sunsets and view. The Donkeys are very friendly too.

Great little camp spot, the donkeys are fun and there is a lot to do during the day with girraween only 15 min away. Bring your warm clothes it gets a touch cool in the early morning.

A Hidden Gem for Nature Lovers and Foodies Alike!
We had the most incredible stay at this truffle farm camping site — it truly exceeded all expectations. Nestled among rolling hills with beautiful gum trees, the site offers a peaceful, back-to-nature escape. Amazing view over the misty hills in the morning, kangaroos jumping everywhere and friendly donkey's.
The hosts were warm, welcoming, and passionate about what they do. We were lucky enough to join a truffle hunt with their expert dog, Barry — such a unique and fascinating experience! The tasting of their products, from truffle infused oils and salt to mustards and butter, was next-level.
Facilities were always kept clean, thoughtfully laid out, and blended beautifully with the natural surroundings. There were fire pits, a communal outdoor kitchen, and incredible views of the Milky way.
Whether you're a gourmet traveller, a nature lover, or just looking for something different — this spot is pure gold. We left incredibly happy with our time at this site and will be recommending it to everyone. We can't wait to go back!
Highly recommend booking an extra night. You won’t want to leave!

We loved our stay at The Folly, Ballandean. The property is beautiful, well signed and close to a number of wineries! Sites are large and peaceful. The amenities were clean and it was so wonderful to have a hot shower in the morning. There is a lovely creek just a stones throw away from the sites. Maple was a great host and would highly recommend.

Great spot, well kept grounds and amenities. Hosts were very accommodating and the platter a must with some of their own truffle products. We will be back for sure and bringing our friends next time.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The sites and bathroom were very well kept. The host was easy to engage with over message. The river had heaps of water in it and was very nice for a swim. I wish I brought a rod! There's plenty of Firewood around, so no need to bring any unless it's been raining. Sites are about 10m+ apart. All our neighbours over the Anzac weekend were very friendly. Very close to walking tracks which was awesome and there's heaps of cool wildlife/farm animals on the property.

Great campsite to base. Strategically situated to explore the granite belt. Lovely bush camping experience. Amenities with flushing toilet and hot water are plus factors. Very quite even when all sites are fully booked. A truly wonderful relaxing and rejuvenating experience. Great hosts.

We loved our weekend away at The Folly Ballandean. We were very fortunate to only have one other camper staying so Maple let us know we could have our pick of the sites. We chose site 5 as it was high and had lovely views across to the hills. Lots of animals life - donkeys, cows, sheep and one alpaca who likes to hang with the sheep! Our little moodle thought it was a a great spot to keep an eye on our quiet roo visitors each evening and staying stayed until dawn.
Very clean amenities near site 1 (we were fully self contained so didn’t have to worry) and a dumping point and rubbish bins were a bonus.
There has been a lot of effort put into the camping area with great signage, electric gate with pin code and the sites are all level with gravel and with well kept short grassy areas, some with young trees. The camp is a short walk away from the River Severn which was up due to the recent rain while we were there and about 20cm over the entry road. No problem at all for our Prado and camper trailer. The sites themselves are high and dry. Great communication with host Maple who was very friendly and helpful. We also thoroughly enjoyed our grazing box prepared by Maple with some truffle products from the farm included to taste and which went very well with our bottle of local Ballandean Estates Shiraz!
Already planning our next visit!
Definitely highly recommend.

Sweeping views & tempting creek

The Folly Ballandean - Site 1
Thank you to Ben and Maple for such an amazing stay The Folly! Our site was high on the hill will beautiful sweeping views and a lovely breeze. Location was straightforward and well signed, we had no issues with access in our 4wd and towing a caravan. Our family enjoyed exploring to find the cattle and sheep, and spent afternoons in the creek which was a huge hit with the kids. Only a short drive to Girraween National Park where we went for some bushwalking and into Stanthorpe for lunch. We lost track of time in the creek so will be coming back to try the truffle trailer next time!

The River Paddock
Lovely peaceful spot for a few days camping. The river had recently flooded so still had plenty of water during our visit. The donkeys were super cute and friendly.

Very quiet peaceful camp.
A kayak is needed if you're fishing, very limited spots on the bank to fish from on their side of the river on the permanent hole.
Good place for a few days of quiet camping.

We had a brilliant time at this camp. It was very peaceful and private having our own space situated next to the river. Quite easy access as long as you have a 4x4. signage is easy to follow and the site is easy to find. It's quite close to sundown national park and not too far from Girraween too. 10/10 would recommend this camp!
