We have fire pits set up in the camp area - please bring an extinguisher, wood and matches. The camp grounds has an easy access and campers have had no issues levelling out on the gentle slope or go higher up the paddock to the trees and the ground is level with the best views of the mountain ranges. Olive View Farm is ideal for self sufficient campers. At the front of the property near the bus shop we have permanent picnic tables set up for anyone to use. Dogs on a lead are welcome - we have lots of Kangaroos and Wallabies and we want to protect them. We are always on site and happy to help with anything you need. *Please note any negative feedback for camping received was from a festival that took place on our property in 2022 and the event organisers promised the campers facilities and did not deliver. Welcome to Emu creek Retreat One of the best destinations for hiking, camping, bushwalking, swimming, Kayaking, fishing, mountain bike riding (bicycles only), bird watching, 4wdriving and even fossicking, since the old gold mining town "Lunatics" was not far away from us. Dogs, men's best friend, are definitely welcome. If travelling in a 2wd please contact us before booking, some of the campgrounds have to be reached by crossing the creeks, Girard camp is one of them where the office and the showers are, at times this crossing is under water and is only accessible by 4wd. Other campgrounds are available near the entry gate that don't require a creek crossing for access and toilets are available on some of them. One side of the property is bound by Emu Creek and the other by Girard Creek, both creeks have enough water with some permanent deep water holes for all year activities. Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m deep waterfall, nature at it's best. The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road. Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away. Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km. Once a working cattle property, in the 90's was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise. Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property. The front section is undulating with plantation forest (spotted gum) and bushland, towards the back it has mountains, steep terrain and millions of trees with spectacular views and great hiking tracks.

Look for the big red letterbox with the blue flag on the right. This spot is for people that think that they are the only ones left in the world. Once at the top, it's yours to live in peace and quiet. 56 acres of undulating hills covered with native bush land, with 10 cleared sites for you to set up camp. If you like an adventure then this mountain is for you. 2 sites called "Top of the world tent site 1 and tent site 2" are accessible by 4WD only (tent camping is advised) There is a step 19 degree road up to the penthouse summit thats at 1000ft. However if it is dry you can tow a camping trailer but only if you have a winch. If it rains the only way down is backwards tethered to trees via your winch. It's an adventure. Campers are welcome to have a campfire, there is plenty of timber on the ground that you can collect or bring your own. As long as there is no fire ban. There are some great bush walks you can enjoy, including down to the creek (about a 40 min walk). The creek is picturesque with lemon trees and peach trees along the edge while in season. There are 2 sites down at the creek called Firefly's and platypus and these are for off road self contained 4x4 campers and those with a tent. The creek is pristine and crystal clear unless it's raining. These 2 sites are absolutely private if you book them both. If you don't mind sharing the creek with another camper then you only need to book 1 site. There is also a 10 month of the year 30 metre high waterfall (depending on rain fall this waterfall can vary from massive water to slow water) and another seasonal waterfall. Don't forget the dam for swimming with the spa tub and fresh mountain spring water constantly flowing into it from an inch and a half poly pipe constantly overflowing into the dam. The water in the creek is safe to drink with no filter needed. The creek is running and crystal clear and very private. If you are in a 2 wheel drive RV/ Motorhome you can book the "Paw Paw hill site" or "a dam good view" There is one site that is all grass accessible in the dry weather. Plenty of drinking water is also available at all sites either via a tap or the creek running water. All campers MUST HAVE their own portable toilet. If no portable toilet you can purchase one from many camping stores at a reasonable price before coming. Doing number 2 in the bush is totally unacceptable. Because this is a leave no trace camp site we do ask you to take all trash with you when you leave as well. There is no council rubbish collection in this area. We respect our beautiful paradise and we know you will appreciate it also. If you make a fire please leave it so I can mow around it once you leave. E.G Please remove all sticks.

The Loft Haven Meadows is located as part of approximately 75 acres of which approximately 7 acres are cleared the rest is natural Australian bushland and forested countryside and is very similar to the National Park. Looking for a bit of space away from everyone or just to take a breath? This is an ideal sanctuary of tranquillity and privacy. It's the go-to location to provide you with a getaway to relax and also enjoy all the amenities the area provides. A place to put your feet up and relax and feel comfortable and at the same time providing space for you to stroll in the cool of an evening or sit around gazing at the stars without the concerns of driving to another location. An ideal place to sit during the day or evening, drinking your coffee or sipping a wine while you enjoy a good book, play a game watch the sunset of the evening and subsequently the stars on a clear night or simply see the local wildlife early in the morning as they explore the grassed areas within metres of the house. The Loft Haven is perfect for families (not young children) or two couples. You MUST be self-contained as there are NO on site Toilet or Shower Facilities if you are not Please do not book. There is plenty of free firewood to use on those cool evenings or even on a pleasant evening when you just want to sit around a fire. (At certain times outdoor fires may be restricted due to local fire safety requirements.) We recommend bringing warm clothes in the Autumn and Winter months as the region is known for falling below zero on some evenings with frosts and some years even having light fall of snow. The Perfect Place for a Getaway, whether just for the weekend or longer, from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the Wyberber valley, within minutes you can drive to drive discover Girraween National Park which is home to an array of lifelike granite sculptures and eucalypt forest rich in some of Australia’s most appealing plant and animal life. Go for a swim in the natural water holes and rock pools. Nestled in the granite belt wine country you will find many cellar doors within a few kilometres drive. We are within minutes of the Girraween National Park and also pleasant drives to numerous national parks etc eg Mount Norman, Bald Rock National Park, Boonoo Boonoo National Park, Basket Swamp National Park and the Sundown National Park all within easy reach and great places for a day out of exploration. Within 15 minutes you can obtain various supplies or food from the Ballandean general store, the Ballandean Tavern, Saint Jude’s Cafe and restaurant and also to the south of us the Wallangarra general store. Wallangarra General store also make country pizzas on a Friday night. Provisions can also be obtained from the general shops and supermarkets in Stanthorpe or Tenterfield both of which are approximately 20-minute drive North or South of our location. There are more than 50 Wineries in this region, and every taste is catered for whether you prefer Red or white. There is also a specialist distillery where you can sample and purchase many liqueurs. (The Castle) You can simply relax and enjoy the property which is surrounded by our beautiful wildlife; we have a wide variety of birds, wallabies, Kangaroos, lizards, turtles, ducks and random sightings of deer and bunnies. or Enjoy the many activities available: - Take a tour and enjoy tastings at some of Queensland’s most awarded wineries, and olive groves, visit the lavender farm, the soap factory, the cheese factory, juice farms Bush walks, swimming holes, Restaurants, Wine tasting, Wildflower walks, Fossicking, Antiques, Art, picking strawberries (seasonal) etc. Cold winters mean can enjoy times around the fire, frosts and the occasional snow as well as the Snowflakes in Stanthorpe Festival, Christmas in July and also the Jumpers and Jazz Festival.

Welcome to those who enjoy a place away from the bright city lights to stay with animals and children. We have a safe clean environment with secure fences surrounding the camp sites. We also have facilities for children to learn about farm animals. All our animals including horses, cattle, chooks, guineas and dogs can be approached and touched without harm to children. The geese are a little skittish about this. :) Our property is a stroll away from Aratula in the Scenic Rim. The hidden creek on our property is home to a host of native wildlife and fauna. An occasional koala can be seen high up in the trees. * We have a rural residential property with access to untamed native Australian bush which is close to everything special in the Scenic Rim of Queensland. * Our property is accessible from the Cunningham highway opposite the BP service Station. Preferable for 4 x 4 vehicles in the wet. During the dry season any vehicle can gain access. * Children will enjoy the benefits of camping and the close encounters with farm animals. The Camel Farm, Alpaca farms and For Real Milk dairy are all found in the Scenic Rim area and allow for visitors. Please find details on the Internet prior to your booking and confirm places. * its a hop step and jump to Boonah and Moogerah Dam - 15mins * just down the road to cafes and country markets. * a scenic drive awaits you to the Gold Coast 2 hours drive East * Shopping and entertainment can be found in Brisbane 1 hour drive North * Its an ideal place for Gray nomads with the occasional option of caretaking rent free * Our property offers an Adventurous family get away Our campsites are on high open grassy country with shady spotted gums along the creek. Access to the campsites is a short distance off the Cunningham Highway gate entry. Preference is for all vehicle types. Offroad RV length is limited to under 20ft. The type of vehicle and RV will dictate where your campsite would be located. Pets are welcome (dogs, cats, birds, reptiles) but must stay within the camp sites and be restrained by owners. Please do not free roam your pet on this camp site. All pets must be contained to the camp site either on a leash or in their crates. We are at risk of violating the neighbours property should your pets be unresponsive to your voice commands. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping amenities. These are off grid camp grounds with a picnic table, braziers and camp bin available for communal use. Firewood of various types can be found along the creek with the option to purchase firewood from our stock.

Alex is a really is a really friendly host and very welcoming and accommodating. The communication and directions make Alex’s camp very easy to find. The dam is west to the campground with the range also in view making for a great spot for the evening sunset blended with a nice campfire.
