We have an abundance of bird life and wild cattle roaming the property, theres so much to see and enjoy With a small number of sites on the property you're sure to feel like the only ones in the world. Currently access is 4WD recommended due to the steep terrain. Any towing MUST be done with a 4WD. AWD and rear wheel drive vehicles are fine, though good idea to check with us FWD vehicles are NOT permitted. Good ground clearance is required

Positioned on a hill above Christmas Creek to take in the views, were you can watch the sun rise over Little Widgee Mountain and the sun set over the mountains to the west. This fully contained cabin is approximately 30 square metres and features a small veranda out the front facing Little Widgee Mountain and Buchanans Fort. Sit back and relax on the bench seat or table and chairs. A larger veranda out the back faces Christmas Creek and the mountains to the west. Relax on the deck chairs and read a book, or sit at the bar and enjoy a drink while watching the wildlife. There’s a table with chairs to enjoy your breakfast or dinner outside.The loft bedroom has a queen bed. There’s reverse cycle air conditioning to keep you comfortable. The kitchen is self contained with a small microwave/oven, a 60 cm ceramic cooktop, a medium size fridge/freezer, a toaster and kettle. The lounge room has a couch, 40 cm TV with DVD player, small table and chairs. There’s no free to air TV channels available. BYO DVD or there’s a small selection available. No Wi- Fi There’s a small firepit and chairs in the yard to enjoy the sun setting over the mountains and stars at night. The cabin is a few minutes drive to the creek where you can go swimming. Relax on the sun lounge listening to the birds sing and Christmas Creek flowing by, or enjoy a Scenic drive or bushwalk in the local area. Christmas Creek Café is just down the road. Phone reception is available at the cabin if you’re with Telstra. The property is 2WD accessible, but I recommend 4WD in wet weather No pets please.

Located 19 km due east of the famous historical village of Tenterfield the working, cattle breeding, property "Mindoo" has recently opened its gates to campers. Framed by the rugged border range National Parks "Mindoo" is 1100 acres of rolling green hills dissected by the pure, cascading, waters of the Cataract River which provide a number of private riverside campsites. Campers are encouraged to meander along the continually changing River and explore its many secluded swimming holes and enjoy the abundant wildlife that cohabitates with the Angus/Wagyu cow herd. Direct access to the neighbouring National Parks and State Forests offers an array of day trips to hikers, mountain bikers, or horse riders where they can discover the natural treasures of Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Woolool Woolooni, among others. For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done. Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided. Be as adventurous or as restful as you please as both options are freely available. Mountain Biking, Hiking, or just riding your hammock and relaxing we are sure you will enjoy your time at "Mindoo". All of our river sites are designated and are space apart. As most of our sites are on the river and have farm tracks to access, if it is wet we may have to move you to a different site. 4wds are recommended for all sites and are required for some site. Please read the listing for the campsite you are wanting to book. Some of our sites do not suit caravans. All roads require high clearance vans. If you do not like dogs or your own dogs are not very sociable Mindoo may not be the place for you. Daisy the Doodle (Golden Retriever/Poodle) and Paul the Pig Dog (a very gentle Bull Mastif/Catahoula) like to come and say hello to campers at The Park & The Junction. First time “glamping” instead of camping and What an incredible experience from booking to packing up to head home the entire process was made incredibly easy and enjoyable with Kristy & Dan being an absolute stand out as hosts. We stayed in the tiny home “Tiny house on the Rockies” and what can we say except BOOK IT NOW! absolutely everything was provided just bring your food, bevies and fishing rods! The tiny home was perfect to retire to after a fun and relaxing day taking in the parcel of paradise! The giant covered deck was an absolute gem, with rocking chairs and outdoor lounge and a top of the line bbq/kitchen set up we happily lazed the days away with the dogs (yes it’s dog friendly! And we were made to feel so welcome with the fur babies!) in the shade watching the river, morning coffees as the dew broke and evenings watching the stars come out and illuminated the sky from the outdoor bath. The tubes make for a fun lazy float down the river in the warmth of the day and the fire fueled bath tub perfect to warm up and unwind as the evening weather cooled off. We can’t wait to go back and experience it in winter. Thank you so much to Kristy and Dan for a 10/10 experience!

So, so beautiful. We ( Nan, Mum and the kids) stayed in the tiny home. It had everything you needed to escape in comfort. Dan and Kristy are so friendly and helpful. We must have floated down the river 30 times whilst the Wedge-tail Eagle flew overhead. There's an abundance of bird life. The outdoor bath was sensational. So many perfect moments. The kids had so much fun 4wd driving down and back up the hill on the way back too. Only regret- not staying longer. What a ripper spot 👌.

2nd time staying at Eagle Ridge. This time, we stayed in the tiny house 10/10 guys. Kristy and Dan had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Great spot for our furkids to run and swim. We had a storm and showers on the first night but not even that bothered us. Highly recommend staying at the tiny house 💯% The battery powered lighting in the house was just perfect, the ambience was lovely and a great battery powered fan for sleeping was a added bonus. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We loved Stuart's place for a peaceful getaway from the hustle & bustle. Is positioned perfectly for nearby walking trails & visits to quaint local villages. The Forest Gypsy tiny home is nestled amongst a beautiful canopy, is very private and has the basic essentials to get you through the day. A fire pit, sauna and nature pool were on offer but we didn't take advantage of these. Stuart was very kind to let us pick fruit from his orchard - the scent of the orange blossoms was divine. Sushi the dog happily greeted us each day, with plenty of cuddles & kisses. Taking in the clean country air, gazing at the night time sky and mingling with the resident fireflies was an absolute pleasure. Stuart was very personable & ensured our stay was most enjoyable :-). We will definitely be back.

Our stay at Tiny Home on the Rocky at Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat was everything we hoped for and more. It was the perfect glamping setup for our little family—comfy, peaceful, and surrounded by stunning bushland. The amenities had everything we needed, and our daughters (and dog!) absolutely loved the freedom to disconnect and just enjoy the river and nature. Daniel and Kristy were amazing Hipcamp hosts—kind, flexible, and so accommodating. They went above and beyond to help us rebook after we had to cancel last-minute due to weather. Kristy was especially sweet with our girls, chatting patiently as they bubbled over about their first night and their love of dogs. Heads up for future campers: a 4x4 is essential to get down to camp (as noted in the listing), and when Daniel says to bring extra firewood—do it! The fire tub was a standout experience for us, soaking in warm water under a cold winter sky, watching the stars (and wishing on shooting ones!). We’ve done lots of family camping, but this was by far one of our most comfortable and memorable trips. Highly recommend!

My family and I loved camping at Eagle Ridge, we travelled from Sydney, Newcastle and Sunshine Coast. Two of my family stayed in the tiny home and the rest of us camped around it. The tiny home was lovely and well equipped, the deck was massive so made it easy for us to chill together as a family. There was a gas heater, lounge, massive bbq and large camp fridge to use, and a bathroom with flushing toilet powered by a water pump - with hot water! The tiny home is not powered, so you’ll need to charge the lanterns provided which you can do from the fridge. There was a fire pit near the deck as well as down near the hot tub! The hot tub is warmed by heat from the fire - recommend starting the fire around 8 hours before planning to use, there was a water pump to also fill the tub from the river. The drive in was fine for our 4wd, my mum has an AWD and it managed as it isn’t low, however was harder for her going back up the hill to leave especially with condensation. Would not recommend AWD/2WD if it rains. The property is beautiful and camping near the river was amazing. Thanks again for our stay! We would love to stay again sometime.

We had a beautiful few days staying in the tiny home at Eagle Ridge Bush Retreat. There was the perfect balance of comfort and roughing it as there was hot water for showers and outdoor kitchen set up (which was needed in winter with a toddler). It is such a magical spot with a gorgeous out look over the river and cradled below mountains. I hope to return again!

If you want tranquillity in a beautiful natural setting surrounded by wildlife, then this is the place for you. The cabin is a combination of rustic charm and modern comforts. Awesome firepit area which is great for the cooler nights. The host Cara has thought of every little thing you will need. Decor is great - full of lots of little treasures and repurposed items. Plenty of music, books, and games to keep you entertained (there's also tv, wifi, etc if that's your thing). Hubby is 6'4" and had no problem with the loft bed.
