15km or 20 minutes from Cairns City Centre and 10 minutes from Coles or Woolies in either direction. (Please note Gordonvale Woolies is closed on Sundays, Mount Sheridan shopping centre has Kmart, Coles and Woolies).
A cane train line runs across the front of the property so during cane season the trains come past a few times during the day and night. They can be noisy but are fairly quick.
Fresh and crystal clear swimming hole/ creek at the end of the road if you continue west down Maitland Road. Please stay in the front block and before the horse stables. Guests must be self-contained with their own toilet facilities.

Three spacious spots are available a few short meters from the edge of a large dam (sites can be seen from the farm road) with another completely secluded site amongst the bushland. Bird watchers dream with the constant residents and seasonal birds flying in for the dam. Swim, kayak, catch and release fish, throw in a RedClaw pot or hunt for mussel clams. Do some hiking or 4 wheel driving around the hundred acres with our 4 wheel driving tracks.
Meet the Farm Animals where campers can chat with the menagerie of animals we have on the farm such as Clydesdale horses, camels, sheep, cows, chickens, buffalo, peafowl, ducks and friendly geese. Hold newly hatched poultry, friendly chickens and maybe even lambs. Bookings are essential come by the farmhouse and meet at the gazebo.
We are 10mins from Dimbulah or 20mins to Mareeba with their many attractions. We can tell you all about the many attractions and activities this area has to offer.
Please Note: Cattle Creek and Waterfront Campsites are accessible by 2WD. The other campsites are 4WD access only and with off road campers/caravans only (high clearance to get through a dry creek crossing). These are self contained sites so please take your own shower and toilet facilities and take away all waste. Well behaved dogs are allowed but must be supervised at all times for the protection of the sheep, poultry, wildlife and not to be brought to the house yard. Sorry no motorbikes or ATV’s.
We have a wet season (December to March) and dry season (September to December) choose your ideal times to stay.

We have had recent sightings of cassowary on our property so keep an eye out, you might just see one!We prefer self-contained campers, who have their own amenities, but we do have a toilet and shower up at the main house (about 50 metres away) you are welcome to use if needed. This is an unused bathroom downstairs so you will still have privacy. Access into the property is not suitable for large motorhomes. Entry will be too small for vehicles approx 8.5 metres long and 3.5 metres high.We grow exotic fruit on the property including limes, pomelos, mangosteens and more. When it's in season, you're welcome to sample some! Gordonvale is the nearest town, with a quiet historic charm, just 15 minutes drive away, while Cairns is around 25 minutes.

We are 10mins from Dimbulah or 20mins to Mareeba with their many attractions. We can tell you all about the many attractions and activities this area has to offer.
Please Note: Cattle Creek and Waterfront Campsites are accessible by 2WD. The other campsites are 4WD access only and with off road campers/caravans only (high clearance to get through a dry creek crossing). These are self contained sites so please take your own shower and toilet facilities and take away all waste. Well behaved dogs are allowed but must be supervised at all times for the protection of the sheep, poultry, wildlife and not to be brought to the house yard. Sorry no motorbikes or ATV’s.

Absolute hidden gem, Kris and Emma are the best hosts, so accomodating and friendly. They helped us with some local knowledge and made sure we were all set up and comfortable during our stay. We came during some heavy rain and they were more than happy for us to drive into their barn and stay in there so we had some cover for our stay. We were only supposed to stay one night but ended up staying 3. So central to everything you could need and lots of amazing things to see around here. Would 100000% recommend!!

A beautiful peaceful spot on top of a hill with panoramic views of tinaroo dam and pasture. Enjoyed walking, feeding the goats in an adjacent field and kayaking in the courtesy kayaks made available for guests. A very welcome breeze and warm friendly hosts.

This was definitely a favourite of ours the ease of getting there the proximity to cairns only being 20 mins the un powered sites were pick your own spot it was peaceful and tranquil the horses and chickens roaming freely made it feel like a farm stay and a big shout out to ROXY the kelpie you are a god send so beautiful always coming to say hello and have some play time loved every minute of this stay wish I had more time to stay here we will definitely be back

Wakana Ridge was a stunning place to stay for the weekend! Endless amazing views with easy access down to Tinaroo dam where the kids had a ball on the kayaks provided. Katrina and Jesse we're fabulous hosts, so welcoming and friendly.
An added bonus too was feeding the cheeky goats and the kids collecting the chicken eggs.
We absolutely loved it here and will be back.
